Yea quite a bit of one and two year only parts on these. Ive yet to find much of anything in the yards or swap meets for either 70 or 69 which it shares some parts with. Most parts ive found were from Larry @onemangarage RUclips channel and eBay. @clunkersandclassics RUclips channel has some parts as well but I haven't found time to go up to Oklahoma were he is.
Good scores Benny! Keep us updated on the progress. Definitely stay in touch with Mr Goodpliers, he comes across a lotta big gm stuff. The thrill of the hunt is my favorite part!
Parts hunting for this one has proven to be a bit of challenge especially as im not looking to spend big bucks. MrGoodpliers is a an easy going dude. Would have been nice if he was closer though.
Nice update👏 I follow Mr Goodpliers channel for a while, he's got all sorts of car parts. Whats your plan for this car? Fix and and drive or fix and sell? Man, those panels are mess, but I am surprised how good the rear end of it looks. Can you find parts at junkyards? Or maybe a whole junkyard car🤔
You can clean the white seat and respray it with vinyl dye in just about any color you might want. I dyed a pair of strato buckets from blue to black. Doing that saved me big bucks on new black upholstery.
@ClassicRideSociety : I was also curious about longevity, so I bought the SEM dye that comes in normal spray can size since its supposed to be the best. It's only been 2 months but they are holding up good so far. I have some left over so if I need to do touch ups, I can.
@ClassicRideSociety : I bought 4 cans and used about 3 1/4 for 2 buckets. I did 2 light coats and 1 medium to heavy coat. Then, I touched up a few spots afterwards. The plastic parts came out nice too! I'm happy so far. Your front bench would probably take like 2 1/2 to 3 cans itself being covered on the backside also, but the rear seat shouldn't take more than 1 1/4 cans. I was expecting to only use 3 but was happy I got an extra can.
I enjoyed looking at your Pontiac and the parts you are accumulating!! Good stuff Benny. Thank you for sharing!! You kept referring to a past video. Do you know how long it's been since you posted it ? I can't remember seeing it. Take care of yourself and your family!! God bless you my friend!!!! Eddy
I hope you have better luck with your '70 Exec than I did with my '70 Catalina. It was a Mechanic's Special, and I bought it as a project/daily driver. It broke down on the way to work, I managed to get it out of harm's way, and left a note stating that I would pick it up on the way home. It was legally parked, but apparently some dirt bag had it towed, and when I went to the yard it had been towed to, I couldn't find it. The jackass in charge said "maybe we crushed it". I still have the paperwork for the purchase, and an undying hate for the company that towed it. Good luck, and I hope to see yours running around soon.👍
They sounded like Boss Hogg from The Dukes Of Hazzard . He'd always wanted to have the General Lee crushed, and wasn't concerned about illegal destruction of property.
It’s not as bad as my 69 caprice My caprice has solid floors needs trunk pan My uncle had one of these Pontiacs Catalina he restored the whole thing and sold it for 2000 about 3 to 4 years ago
@@ClassicRideSociety I’m doing mine on budget for sure The previous owner told me that the 69 Prius needs a rear main seal trunk pan and has a transmission leak in the driver side and passenger side quarter panels Trying to get my subscribers up RUclips won’t let me post any videos of it and Previous owner of the 69 caprice wanted 10k Then he dropped it down to 8500 then lowered it again I got the car for 6,000
Be careful with "parts store" rebuild kits like that. They don't have the right materials to handle the modern fuels out there and may not last as the parts (especially the accelerator pumps) swell up quickly after a short time. I'm still of the premise that you can buy a new fuel tank, and you may have to make something work. The Executive is a "B" body car, and I think you pulled a tank from an Electra which is a "C" body car. If not, the old tank should be able to be repaired properly by a radiator shop. You might want to get a catalog from Ames Performance Engineering in NH---all they do is Pontiac and nothing else. Spectra among others make replacement tanks and supply the aftermarket. You can download their catalog free and request a hard copy. They have a specific catalog for the full size Pontiac. I met Steve Ames (the owner) at a swap meet over 20 years ago (when I used to go) and he gave me a good deal on AC-Delco PF24 oil filters. Maybe on the next video show the VIN and cowl tag. LOL.

Lotta potential, really like the Exec!
Love the front end on the 70
It's either a love it or hateit front end from what ive heard.

I thought about doing that. Ive watched a few videos of guys doing that. Wondered about the longevity.

that kinda sounds like illegal destruction of property

How they're can do that the car did have plate and wasn't abandoned you
Left a note to pickup why would they're crush it hope you sue them

You would have needed to get a police report and report it stolen to them. Then I'm sure it would magically "reappear" again.
GP are the same.. Go back to Apache for that 65

Hey, Benny, do you have the right side headlight mount for this? I'll check for it and the front valance for you!
I have the headlight parts. The front valence has eluded me so far
Benny do you have an email? And how far are you willing to travel if a part's car is located?
Depending on price/parts I'd probably drive a few hours
