Good video. Looks like there is no cure other than reducing stress and reduced meal sizes.

Reducing meal sizes helped SIGNIFICANTLY in my recovery. Diagnosed over a year and a half ago and I am still in recovery and struggle daily after almost losing my life to it. However, my symptoms are SO much better than they were and my life is no longer at risk.

Thank you for this video, doctor! After having an abdominal ultrasound, two ER visits (one in which a CT scan was conducted), several blood labs done, an endoscopy (with a biopsy for pathogen testing), and colonoscopy within the past 6 months and nothing abnormal found in any of my tests and procedures, I finally know about functional dyspepsia, which is exactly what I am experiencing! Going to bring this to the attention of my primary physician. Thank you, again, for such an informative explanation.

BTW, yeah maybe not all people are impacted by the brain-gut phenomena in Functional Dyspepsia, but for those with anxiety/depression there is a high comorbidity rate, meaning that there is most certainly a connection for those with anxiety/depression. It has been found that SSRIs and DBT (Talk Therapy) have been very effective in treatment. The microbiome is very important as well, but i felt that this point should not have been so easily dismissed.

Wow. This was crazy. I have had vulvodynia (chronic genital pain) since I was 16, I am now 20 and was just diagnosed with functional dyspepsia and IBS.
I too was originally misdiagnosed and given PPIs, thankfully I stopped them after roughly 2 months.
    Very insightful, thanks a lot!

I have been dealing with dyspepsia since 2005. After COVID, it returned full blast. Severe belly bloating and nausea. I am now doing fine with 40 mg omeprazol per day. Will slowly go down to 10 mg per day over several months. Great drug, gave me my life back.

My thing is does nausea count as pain or just discomfort? Or does it depend on the severity of the nausea? Cuz for me personally i get pretty severe nausea and would easily classify it as one of the most painful experiences I've ever had.

I’ve had this dyspepsia on and off for 15 years now. During my symptom crisis I would take the PPI for a month and everything would be back to normal. I would relapse probably 3 times a year. Ever since the pandemic it is chronic! The PPI helps with the early satiety and bloating but the chest pain is bothersome. I tried taking dyglychirrised licorice and it seems to help. Problem is once off it symptoms come back.

Dear doctor ,thank you very much for your suggestions in dispepsia, I am medical laboratory Technologist.I had H pylori infection last year. The complications was only severe burping all the times. The doctors tried best to eradicate it by 3 different regimen, and finally it was eradicated. Now my stool h pylori is negative I got little releaf but the problem is still persist. Burping all the time. I m living in northern hilly area of Pakistan. When I come to cities like Peshawar , Islamabad I got much better relief inspite of high spicy food here. But when I return to home land my functional dispepsia start again with burping.some time it lead to mis heart beat. Here in my hometown I am very very carious about food. I m not taking tea, coffee spicy food etc . Dear sir please reply me . I shall be very thankful to you

Write a comment under this if u got poisitive results on EBV and has issues like these. Happy new year everyone!
