Not to be parasocial but the praise 'Whisper of the heart' is getting makes my heart so happy :,,) Its such a wholesome movie and its worth all the love.
It's honestly my personal favourite Ghibli movie. It's such a calming, sweet and personal story and says so much about what it's like to be a creative person, and the drive and struggle that comes with wanting to pursue being a writer or artist.
Feeling honored to be featured in this video 🫡 very happy you loved Whisper of the Heart! Under-appreciated Ghibli. Sorry for the last minute switch-up on the fourth one, I get indecisive lol
Thank you for spreading the love. It is such an underrated ghibli with a very beautiful message and plot. I can't find a mutual then that knew it so its renaissance to film lovers is win for me.
Yes! I used to have Clue on my top 4 but I ended up swapping it for Alice's Adventures In Wonderland (1972) because it was my favourite childhood film which I still love now
The Fly is to this day the most gory movie I’ve ever seen. One day when I was like 13 my mom and I decided to watch horror movie and we found this one and decided to watch it. Bad Idea! We were literally green when we ended the movie 😭. Btw my top 4 movies have to be The Edge of Seventeen, Perks of Being a Wallflower, But I’m a Cheerleader and Narnia (the first movie).
More letterboxd videos please :) I really like the editing of the transition cards for each movie - though I have noticed that your videos often have repeat takes by mistake.
Okay… fair but… princess Kaguya is equally as great! It’s so beautiful and masterfully done, it’s mystical yet so mundane. Heartbreaking and wholesome. It’s a freaking master piece 💖. Whisper of the heart is also a masterpiece but in a coming of age kind of way
Probably a basic option but Princess Mononoke is my personal favourite. Brutal action and violence, mature and heavy themes, nuanced characters, a well developed romance, and a kickass score. It just gets everything right in my opinion
trin, im begging you to please do a movie commentary on almost famous. its one of my top 3 fave movies of all time and i really want to watch you watch it and see how you like it. loving this content so much, keep up the amazing work!
The rant in the beginning is so funny. I love letterboxd but i don't watch movies much cause I only want to watch movies i like (LOL) and I have a lot of favorite movies so it's hard to say my exact favs
This was so good!!! I would send mine but I just started my letterboxed and you only deserve the best. I’m just more of a TV series girlie…. Letterbox for tv shows when??
@@coraline_jonesseyy!! I was just about to comment that! ❤️ Serializd is what you're talking about, OP. It's much much smaller than Letterboxd, but it has such a great vibe, and a recent feature is now everyone can change posters for shows and seasons! There's still no ads or paid tiers since it's literally just the founder running it as a passion project Edit: it's funny the number of times I evangelize Serializd when people want LB for tv, like, I've got the solution for you!!
I have a letterboxd and so here’s my top 4 favorite films on there 1. Howl’s Moving Castle 2. Everything Everywhere All at Once 3. Requiem for a Dream 4. Hereditary It’s basic, I know
trin my gurl you saying to be wary of sassy men who put gone girl or lady bird or midsommar or barbie or black swan as their top 4 and then me having rated all those movies 5 stars with midsommar and barbie currently in my top 4 (don't forget pearl) 😭😭
Thanks to this video I made a letterboxd account. I still don't know what to do for my 4 I know 3 of them but I don't know what else to put on there bc I love so many films 😂 maybe this film will help me decide on the 4th option. Going to take a few days to decide especially trying to figure out the app.
Can you please do a vid on Little Miss Sunshine I absolutely loved this movie growing up even when I was way younger it still kept my attention Just of of those comfort movies
Mine are 1) Porco rosso 2) how to train your dragon 3) billy elliot 4) the orphanage (which I HIGHLY recommend to all horror fans:)) honourable mention saw 2004 as 5th place
My top four (I'm biased towards high minute-to-minute craftsmanship) all ended up having multiple people on the cover, 3/3/3/6 words in the title and 3/4 directed by an auteur director. All without it being my intention. Suffice it to say, I feel like I'm at least consistent in my tastes, whatever that's worth!
Movies mentioned: (for my reference, you can like it to remind me to watch it because I just recently made a letterboxd account too hehe) Everything Everywhere All At Once Edge of Seventeen Little Miss Sunshine Hereditary Whisper of the Heart The Fly Chunking Express Lady Bird Shrek 2 Twilight

you transitioning from talking about top 4 movies into ranting about men ruining everything is the realest thing i've seen in a while😭😭
Yeah femcels have to blame men for everything right
Men don’t ruin everything though do they
I’m not sure if this was the point but you sound extremely sexist saying it like that.
goofy
Just a tad bit sexist innit?
My top four has the mummy and hereditary right next to each other and I just couldn’t do that to Trin’s sanity.
