Excellent video instructions, much appreciated! Would you consider doing a video for running through the various hopper 3 features? I'm seriously considering moving from cable but there are not any videos of using a hopper and showing off the features. Please think about it!
Yeah I hear that. good job with the approved splitter though. I take out a ton that are underrated. in the future, anything the tech is there to do can be modified before the equipment is activated. after activation there isn't much we can do.
I just purchased a house and inherited dishHD sat dish all wired up to Solo Node 185834. I'm absolute noob in satellite stuff. Can you tell how it all works and wiring step by step for beginners? How can I reuse it orr repurpose for something fancy?
Hi Mark. Why did you have to connect an ethernet cord (the yellow one) to the Joey? I thought, the internet connectivity comes from the Hopper when the Hopper is connected to the Internet and the Bridging option is set to ON. TY
maybe show them how to tone out the coax cables so they will hook the right one up. lots of lines coming out to splitter box and if they don't know which one is which they will experience a night mare
Hello I have a Dish Network Hybrid Solo Hub 203952 which the Dish Network technician installed outside of the house. As a result, both the incoming coax cables into the house from outside (ideally for TV + Cable Internet) were used: 1 - To the Hopper. 2 - To the Joey (only one joey). In the service box inside the house, the two incoming cables were connected to the hopper and the joey, respectively. My question: Can I move the Disk Network Hybrid Solo Hub 203952 inside the house, then from there, I connect both the joey and hopper to the hub directly (thru the walls of the house)? This results to freeing the other coax outside for my comcast internet. Hope I'm able to explain this accurately. I need my internet from Comcast and the TV. Thanks in advance
Just so everyone knows. If you have a dish hopper, And you have good internet. Don't get the Joey($7mnth)... Buy a firestick for each tv. Connect to WiFi, download dish app, login. You got your entire guide, DVR recordings etc all for no extra charge.....
Thanks Mark. Do you know if I can switch my hopper and joey locations by swapping the solo node outlet cables? I currently have my large hopper in my living room and my small joey in my bedroom and I would like to switch them around to have the smaller joey hidden out of site in my living room. Is it that simple and is there any reasonI should not do this?
Thank you for the video I'm getting oddly weird about the fact that my dad called I got an email from spectrum a charter communication service but no dish network service and I got this weird feeling in the pit of my stomach we don't have the thing necessary to set up a joey
First, thanks for all the info. I appreciate it, I subscribed to your channel, and I'm looking forward to watching more of your videos. If you can, please let me know if I'm on the right track. I have a coax coming from the satellite (from a node, I assume) going directly to my hopper. I need to connect my joey to that. Am I correct that I'd use a tap? The coax coming from the node would go into the tap, and from the tap one coax would go out to the hopper (host) and one coax would go out to the joey (client). Am I on the right track? Thx for your time!
Dish came out and did a upgrade and totally messed up what was a working system,,before i had two main co ax lines in home ,since diah installed hopper and a joey now my third tv that was being run off a coax soklitter wont work wont work,,if i unplug hdmi cable from back oftv that working and plug it directly into third bedroom tv it will work,,SO i thought if i bought a hmdmi spitter i could use it to make the 3rfd tv work,,,wont work,,PERIOD,,,have tried using a rca modulator but the third tv will not run...ANY IDEAS,,,ALL setting on tv are correct and set to right output,,,what baffles me is the signal coming fomr main reciver to other room to joey works fine and i actually haave it run to a coax splitter,,,only one tv will work so when i want to see other tv i have to unplug hdmi from joey and plug hdmi from 3rd tv,,it works prefect going that route,,have a new hdmi spliiter and it wont split the signal either,,WHY didnt the dish people offer me the wireless stuff while here,,,,now i have a mess and the new hopper receiver responds slowly to remote,,,,sort of like a old computer that has a virus,,,NOT HAPPY
Why would you do this yourself? All you have to do is call to add one and as long as you aren't in a bad spot with your bill, they will most likely come out and install for free. Also, having an individual Joey connected with Ethernet on top of connecting the hopper to broadband, it can cause connection fallout. The Ethernet at the joey should be disconnected.
I understand wanting to do things for yourself. I'm an IHS tech for dish so I do know that one can add a joey and have the tech visit fee ($95) either waived or not assessed with a new 2 year contract. The dropout I'm referring to may be a glitch but is real. If the system isconnected to BB at two points, it can cause BB connectivity for the entire system to drop out.
wow very correct but please really wanted some one to school me on how to get good mature channels ,dish directions , their frequencies and symbol rate
We got that spectrum stuff and I'm afraid it might not work on our thing and my dad paid 42 bucks on this a good deal but if you don't have the necessary equipment it might not work something is strange in the force a Star wars reference 😂 lol
Great video, tx/ How far can the solo node be from the client. I am looking at a new install at the lake and the dish is 250ft from the house. Also, how far can a Joey be from the client? I have a porch that would be 200 ft away. tx
Hello I have 2 Wally's installed at my house and I wanted to install 3 more to my pre existing setup. I have a dp plus multi dish switch and a dish 1000.2 hd sattelite. I'm not too sure how to connect the other recieve. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks
Didn’t even show them how to tone out the cables so you know which one to screw in... also if your house is not prewired it’s going to make it a thousand times harder because you have to run new cable from the node or hybrid hub, to wherever you want the receiver.
The Hopper 2 system is utterly garbage. It's slow as fuck and searching for anything is a F-ing nightmare. It might cost a little more but their new so called "4K" Hopper is totally worth it based on the UI speed alone.
Check Out the Dish Network Joey on Amazon - amzn.to/2Wf7KRq
You can buy your own Dish Network Joey on Amazon - amzn.to/2snMvSg
What cable do you run RG59 or RG6?

Great video, thanks. The charts at the end are exactly what I was looking for.

for what i have understand even is you buy and install your own they still charge you the $7 a month?
That's for monthly activation fee
What is the purpose of the coaxial cable on the Joey dish box. I am having a hard time putting it on. What am I doing wrong

Cool! Didn't know it was this easy! Where did you find the PDF file at the end with all of the wiring diagrams?

just get a Wi-Fi joey. YOU don't need coax for the Joey.

Thank you so much for the video bro! I really appreciate this video. It saved me so much frustration.
Especially the diagram at 7:58
the hybrid setup is much better than the solo node
It's pretty much the same thing, but the hybrid solo hub is easier as it only needs one cable from the dish. It need a hybrid ea or wa lnb though.
The hybrid would need a different lnbf DPH as to the node uses DPP

All good, but dont use wrench, just tighten the connector with your hand
No, use a regular wrench and tighten connector until firm and then 1/8th of a turn. Or use a 30in lb. Torque wrench.

If you do buy a dish network or directv receiver, then you do save money on rental fees.
Are you the same guy who used CD’s for free tv

Yes Dish will send a tech out for that for FREE because that's what I did.
How much cost to install asistem like this in a house with my cabel and all stuff ????????
I haven't see the entire video but I would sure like to see how to loop in an AVR with the single HDMI connection.
How can I change what hopper the Joey is connected to?
wow very correct
but please really wanted some one to school me on how to get good mature channels ,dish directions , their frequencies and symbol rate
Does this help with DirecTV receivers? I got a Genie H25 in my room.
Do you need a hopper to use the 4K joey
Jacob Lucas yes

Cable can't be run no more than 200ft from solo node or hybrid solo hub.

THANK YOU FOR THE VIDEO!
Somebody gave me a Joey and I tried hooking it up, but I can't find anywhere to hook it up to my dishwasher. I guess it's time for a new dishwasher.
How do you switch devices when you on the DVR section 4 dish
Hello I have 2 Wally's installed at my house and I wanted to install 3 more to my pre existing setup. I have a dp plus multi dish switch and a dish 1000.2 hd sattelite. I'm not too sure how to connect the other recieve. Can anyone help me out here? Thanks
on your joey install after you place the splitter in line can you just run coax to a basement tv and get a picture without a joey ?
No... you always going to need a reciever to get independent picture. Now you can mirror a TV from any of the reciever locations.
They charge you $7 monthly even if you own the box
Awesome
