It would be great if someone could explain springs and shock tuning a bit more! There are a lot of youtube videos that just keep repeating fundamentals, but there are people like me that wanna get a solid foundation on the deeper stuff. Like why you would use a certain type of shock, how you tune or set up springs with shocks. how would you use a 3way adjustable versus the typical single way adjustable, etc etc
Bet you don't know what this means either 😂How can you call yourself a pro and leave this video online with this kind of mistake ? It discredit everything you say after that... fyi it's the internal structure of the tire that is radial.
This helped a lot with sim drifting on CarX as they had adhesion levels 90, 100 (default), 110 and 120 and I didn’t “fully” understand it. But now I’ve seen this example I get what that equates to; C, B, A and AA. Super helpful.
Your the only other person i know that actually knows the true meaning. I try to explaine 35 is 35 percent of the first number a d people think im crazy lol. Thanks man always on point
Yes please make a vid about tire pressure. My dumbass got some super wide wheels for my s13 stock ka24de😂 They look amazing but I’m not sure how high of a psi I should have my tires at to have them break loose easier.
I did a few days and once gor confident got told to tighten up the back and feel it a bit skatey.... A few laps later manjying the straight i lost the rear and planted into a wall 🤣. Grip all the way 🙌🤙🏼
It really depends on spring rates. If they’re fairly close to correct then in theory yes that’s how you’d setup the dampening. Always start on extremes and then make large adjustments and test. This will help you learn what changes actually do.
@@HaugenRacing I have an sr20 hatch with an sr20 8k front 5k rear I run a 17x9 with a 215 in front and a 235 with a 17x9.75 in rear. I am full soft in rear and 10 clicks away from full stiff in front oh and no sway bars. Does it sound good brother
I’d bump up a couple from full soft but that’s always a good place to start. May want to run a little stiffer on the dampening in the rear since no sway bar. But go try it out!
I have some grippy tires on right now but could I run a pair of less grippy ones in the back just to have some fun drifting/donuts not necessarily going to fast. Just for some fun or should they’ve the same tires?
Also what is your opinion about running a higher profile on the front than the rear. I see some pro car setup like that. Iwas told that it help with tire flex if you have a higher profile up front which is a good thing.
IMO Achilles 123s for the front is unbeatable. For the rear I’ve tried all sorts of tires but the ones I listed have the best mix of price and performance
@@HaugenRacing yea that's what i've always gone by. Luke Fink has said otherwise so I'm curious. Better for reverse entry's too apparently. You should try it sometime and see what your opinion on it is! He said he prefers semi slicks in the rear and normal radials up front.
For my 550whp Shelby I run 275s in the rear and 255s in the front and I don’t have any issues with that right now but it’s also my daily driver so I can make it a full drift missile lol. Would you recommend any changes or have any advice at all? Thanks and keep up the good work🤙🏼
Honestly, if its the gt500 its too nice to use as a missile! I would definitely recommend getting something a little cheaper and checking out our best beginner drift cars video!
Expensive man. You can get the tires I mentioned for $65-75 new. Kr20s are good tires but not necessary. Spend the money on front tires and on suspension
If you learned anything from this video consider subscribing to our channel 🙌. Huge build starting at 10k subs
Oh shit you don’t have 10 k? You deserve like 100 mil
We’ll get there! Just need to keep going and keep getting support

Realized I totally messed up and said the R stands for rim. It stands for Radial. My mind was on the wheel size...
R stands for wRong!

Seriously how tf haven’t ur videos blown up yet some of the higher quality vids and still so underrated

Thank you for this in depth video. Instead of just saying just to get cheap used tires
🙌 love to hear that. Hoping this helps everyone figure out what works for them

Please go more into depth on tire pressures, really appreciate your videos
Ok! Thanks fam!
Yes please make a vid about tire pressure. My dumbass got some super wide wheels for my s13 stock ka24de😂 They look amazing but I’m not sure how high of a psi I should have my tires at to have them break loose easier.
Ok haha. Ya that’s going to cause some issues going wide with super low power but you can run like 50psi. See if that works
Haugen Racing thanks 🙏🏼 will do
I did a few days and once gor confident got told to tighten up the back and feel it a bit skatey....
A few laps later manjying the straight i lost the rear and planted into a wall 🤣.
Grip all the way 🙌🤙🏼
Please do a tire pressure guide!
When I heard the r stands for rim I was honestly just happy you used the word rim cause apparently that makes some car guys salty
Ya R stands for radial lol. I totally messed up. Was concentrated on the wheel/rim size. And ya I don’t get the whole rim vs wheel thing. Who cares 🤣
Radial it is!
Ya that was an oops... was concentrated on the wheel/rim size
Great video as always. Keep it up
Thank you man!!!
I would like to know more about tire pressure!
Well do it!
I am always confused on what to get for a drift csd
Car*
Watch our best drift cars to buy video! That should help you out man
@@HaugenRacing what I meant was, I never know what tire to put onto a drift car. I already have a strong bias on what car I want to get for drifting.
Ohhhhh I see. Well if you have any other questions after this video let me know!
Question what do you usually put your dampening on your coilover to front to back... is the front stiff and the rear soft?
It really depends on spring rates. If they’re fairly close to correct then in theory yes that’s how you’d setup the dampening. Always start on extremes and then make large adjustments and test. This will help you learn what changes actually do.

@@HaugenRacing thanks alot bro as always I'll like every video you post thanks for giving back to the drift community you are an inspiration
Anytime dude! If you ever have questions you know where to ask 🙌
Nice videos. Do a video on alignment and how it affects the car and the tire pressure.
Ya we may have to! We did a whole video on car setup last week. Check that one out when you have a chance
Rev up 350z
Has 18/8.5 +30 offset
Any suggestions on cheap tire sizes to try would be helpful
Currently has 255/45/18 on rear
Super cool color the red rims
Yah from my research drift suspension is very sim to drag.
In the rear we’re looking for a lot of the same characteristics. The front is its own animal for sure
Good information. There’s a lot more to it then I realized
Seriously! We could talk about tires forever
I couldn't stay awake to watch the whole thing., my gawd.
I have some grippy tires on right now but could I run a pair of less grippy ones in the back just to have some fun drifting/donuts not necessarily going to fast. Just for some fun or should they’ve the same tires?
Perfect video
Lol in between the stretch and bulge"pretty much just put the tire on correctly"
Also what is your opinion about running a higher profile on the front than the rear. I see some pro car setup like that. Iwas told that it help with tire flex if you have a higher profile up front which is a good thing.
Ya I’ve seen some do that too. I haven’t felt like I wanted it. Achilles 123s are my go to tires and they have unlimited grip honestly. It’s crazy
Don’t over complicate it. Focus on driving.
Have you tried Maxsports on the front and westlake rs sport on the rear? Its a winning formula.
IMO Achilles 123s for the front is unbeatable. For the rear I’ve tried all sorts of tires but the ones I listed have the best mix of price and performance
Thanks @@HaugenRacing Ill see if we can get some and give them a try. 👍
Do it up! Let me know what you find out. I’m always down to learn too!
I would defiantly recommend you try Maxsports on the front. You can have just about any pressure on any surface in any weather and loads of grip.
I am not sponsored by them btw.
ever run grippy tires in the rear rather than the front?
I personally never have and wouldn’t recommend that for drifting. Always run grippy tires up front and then add grip in the rear as you need it
@@HaugenRacing yea that's what i've always gone by. Luke Fink has said otherwise so I'm curious. Better for reverse entry's too apparently. You should try it sometime and see what your opinion on it is! He said he prefers semi slicks in the rear and normal radials up front.
What tire would u recomend for a 200hp rwd car ? Thank u
cheapest tyres are best tyres for drifting
A video on clutch kicking ?
On the schedule!
dang learned a lot in this video 👍👍👍
What spec wheels and tires would you recommend for a automatic car running around 120hp with open diff? I’m currently running 18x8 +43 on 215/40
Weld the diff first👍🏼
How to find achilles in the USA in 2024?

Need to get you some falken rt615s bud!
Idk man. Achilles are wild. Best tires for drifting IMO
Haugen Racing I hear you. But you have to try the rt615 out. You would be very happy with them
IveI've heard that General tires are a decent brand, what do you think Haugen?
Havent tried or heard much about those. I find the cheapest tires in the size I want. The ones I listed are super cheap and generally available
