Thank you for a REAL review with no BS! I've been trying to divorce myself from my slowly dying Roland VM3100 Pro ( which I still after all this time I find a confusing great board! This AM I have listened to Alesis, Behringer, etc. for a "USB" mixer for my DAW work at home. I think this might be my choice. Thanks for the real info!

Hi, can I use the xlr out by using an xlr to rca to connect to my receiver's (home theater) line in?
I'm asking this because most mixers have a standard 1/4 left and right output to connect to receivers and/or amps. This one I found it didn't have.

Just bought the Notepad-8FX. One thing I'm wondering, is there any way to record each channel (Ch1, Ch2, Lines 3 - 6, and RCA output) into a DAW simultaneously and onto separate audio tracks? I assumed you would be able to do this, but so far it seems you can either choose Channels 1 & 2 simultaneously (e.g. one mic and one instrument), or the full post-fx mix using the plug-in you mention here.
Thank you Robin for this review (Notepad-8FX Small-format Analog Mixing Console). I am planning to buy this mixer for an online/streaming radio project. As of the moment, we are using a Windows based computer, a Samson USB Mic, a Pioneer DJ-SSB and a Marshall USB headphone which connects to the streaming server hosting the online radio station via a streaming software (SAM Broadcaster / Rocket Broadcaster).
The online radio show plans also to accept phone calls from the field from reporters/listeners or online calls (Zoom, Skype, Viber, etc.).
May I know if this mixer is suitable for this online radio project and do you have a recommended set-up using this mixer for this online radio show? Thank you so much for all your help.
This sounds like a perfect DJ mixer for me. When I was shopping for a compact DJ mixer, to replace the 12 channel one I was lugging around, the "perfect" mixer for me would have been XLR main outs (no adapters needed), effects (in case of karaoke), inexpensive, and knobs instead of sliders (sliders bend easy when taking in and out of bags). I couldn't find the perfect package. Every mixer I looked at had all but one of my requirements. I ended up compromising by omitting effects. I got the Allen and Heath ZED-6 for $129 which checked all the boxes except effects. I simply didn't want to pay $199 for the effects version (ZED-6FX). Then I see this mixer.. UGH, it would have checked ALL the boxes and then some. Hmm..might have to grab this one at some point, but I have 4 mixers already.

@@MarinaUganda Hi Adela. Yes, I believe it's the blue knobs on each channel.
@@rtaulbee I don't think so. But still, they would control the same effect for every channel, so you can't chose different effects for each channel.
@@MarinaUganda Oh I misunderstood. No, a mixer like this isn't going to allow DIFFERENT effects per channel. It's going to be "choose the effect" then "turn it up/down for each channel".

Hello. I just bought a new one and not seeing any signal or led's turned on after connecting to power. Can you please advise how to install this or power it up. Not clear in the manual as well.
I bought notepad 12fx.. For ur info there's no any light indication once the Power is on. But if you press the Karaoke button a blue led will be clipping. But anyway just plug in your necessary cables and play your music by adjusting the Master fader and the channel faders too.

Oh darn, i am so new to this. Just bought this mixer and wanted to use it to record myself with karaoke on my mac mini 2020. My usual set-up to listen to music is to plug my old 2 channel receiver into my headphone plug in my computer and listen through my bose 201 speakers. I have multiple plugs that i bought but hmm cannot get the mixer to match with my receiver. The sound is very very low and there is static. I tried different ways and think i am not doing this right. I did try to plug from the master plugs into my receiver and nope. Tried the other options same sound. Maybe, i'm missing some equipment ? I am more than confused hahaha. I’m interested in purchasing an analogue mixer for my home studio but unsure which one to go for. I do like this Soundcraft 8FX
Here are my requirements:
2 mics.
Being able to use a direct signal for Skype lessons etc is crucial.
Ipad for backing tracks and metronome.
Sound from my laptop computer and DAW.
Connection to my audio interface.
My speakers are very basic with only a 3.5 male connection.
Being able to have basic reverb etc would be an advantage.

I have a question for you.
I bought this product to record my vocals with the audio effects (For example Reverb).
Now the problem is when I am recording a song, I am able to hear myself in the headphones "with effects : reverb" but in the final recording there are just plane vocals (In my laptop).
The FX effects like chorus/reverb are not being recorded in the PC.
It is a huge disappointment for me as I am someone who is not good with editing my vocals post processing and wanted to record my vocals the way I hear them in the headphones live.
Is there a way I can record my songs/vocals with the effects?

hello. kinda silly question. Im practicing do play like a DJ. I have 2 power speakers ( Behringer ) . I can connect these speakers to this mixer correct? Can I connect my iPad or iPhone? my speakers are XLR connections. the effects are only for microphone correct? Please let me know. I greatly appreciate.
yes your good with the speakers and xlr cable, the effects have level controls on all the channels.

Just bought one and can't get it to work with Logic Pro X. I just can't find it in the audio settings of Logic Pro. I have a Moog Subsequent 37 and a Roland Gaia SH-01 connect to it. I have also connected my Traktor kontroller S8 with RCA cables and there's some distortion through the RCA. Is there a s driver for this mixer that should be installed?
Sound craft does have a new driver on there website for this model good place to start. What input are you plugging in your rca cables in to?

Hello! Thank you for your review. I heard that many people had issues with USB connection. Did you had some? Are you aware of them? And another question: It's written in the documentation that what is sent to USB is pre-FX. It means you can't send to USB the final mix? What I actually need to do is to send music via USB to the mixer, to sing and piano (2 XLR Inputs then), having effects on voice, then send everything back to the computer (music sent via USB + mic with effects + piano) in order to record it. Can this product do that? Thank you very much.
visit Soundcraft website they have the software and driver package. I think there is an option to pick ch1/2 or main as your USB output. so you can get the FX.

No software in the box but sound craft has all the drivers plus firmware updates on their site for PC and Mac.
So the first two channels with the XLRs can be used like a regular line in for my Dj equipment right ?
No problem there you have combo jacks on ch 1 and 2 for you JD Gear.
Combo jack meaning I need to use a TRS 1/4 on channel 1 & 2 in order to use it as a line in ? Or I can use xlr for channel 1 & 2 for line in?

Does it have Phantom Power supply for XLR condenser microphone
At 6:24 he says you have phantom power. :)
And I just read the manual, and phantom power is there, and always on for a condenser mic, or capacitor mic.
I just happened to buy this from a neighbor. I have a little home studio with 2 microphones and a few electronic instruments such as a keyboard. I'm trying to figure out hour I can connect my instruments and mics to this mixer and then make them all play on one PA speaker. Can't figure out which cable and ports to use to connect the mixer to my speaker.
Anyone?
if you have a powered speaker you would plug in one end out of the left or right main ouput of the mixer into the line in on your powered speaker or amp plug your keyboard into a stereo ch on the mixer/guitar ch 1/mic ch 2 hope that helps

when you think this is a USB soundcard with a decent mini mixer built in, it's a good deal. small enough to fit on top of a monitor
How do you route the all-mix out to your computer?
make sure to download the driver pack from soundcraft then plug in the mixer and then start your audio software

it does not have drivers for a turntable sound card option like your PC does.

I would have gladly sacrified the Panoramic knobs for separate FX knobs because you can't regulate the internal effects when you're using a monitor mix.
When connect a jack to AUX it is not possible to control the internal effects? The effects is automatically turned off? Or continues to work? I’m planning to buy this mixer 8FX, but I need to AUX connect to Behringer FX2000 and I will return to a channel, but I would like that I could use both the effects: internal summed with the FX2000.

Does not work as a audio device. Audio is non-signed piece of software, which sucks.
Logic
This mixer is a HUGE FAIL when it comes to using USB for live streaming. The output level is low lo that its barely useable. NO one seems to talk about this.
That's really helpful to know as it's literally the only thing I'm looking at buying it for, thanks for posting this.
Shit mixer got one , bad sound i have an alto sound better or yamaha is better , price very big for 2 buttons board...
I used the 10 channel one and sounded fine. Thought the effects were very useable
