Everybody says how much it sucks, but ive met ppl who were happy driving & told me they've made alot of $, i think it depends more on your attitude & effort, nobody wants to be a slave but with most corporate jobs you feel like that anyway
Yeah, I used to think the same until you sit down and do the math and today’s economy was six bucks a gallon for gas and no hybrid engine or electric it sucks. Plus you get no employee benefits and you have to put in some crazy hours just to make decent money but I wouldn’t even call a decent
Well, I’m in California may be another states or a place where it’s cheaper cost-of-living may it is decent
Is this Dara
Be safe out there! I did Uber 6 years ago. I respect the hustle. Tip your drivers 😎
I did 20 trips and got tipped twice
Only good ones.
If you get an order of 6 cases of 40 half liter bottles of water ( it might be to the 2nd or 3rd floor of an apartment ), don't accept that load, you can cancel it from yourself. It is horrible and it paid $5.50 and the guy tipped ZERO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes, true. Don't take really heavy things !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was me, I always do that🤣🤣
I'm fairly new to this (300 rides) and the one heads up I can give new drivers is that people are disgusting. I have cleaned my car more times in the last 2 months than I have in the 5 years I've owned the car. I have found used diapers, snot rags, boogers etc in the seat pouches of the car. People get in the car with mud and dog poop on their shoes and like to wipe their shoes off on your mats. Get a small electric power washer for your home so when you need to, you can give the car a quick wash or pull out your mats and wash them real quick
Uber shouldn’t be sending out new requests while you’re on a ride especially if your vehicle is in motion. We may see a lawsuit due to this feature. It’s very dangerous.
You just stop the app once you accept a ride like you're logging off for the day and start it back when you're ready to accept another ride. I thought everyone knew this. But the idea is to keep you busy especially if you're close to the next potential pickup.
all u do is hit the button to not send u other request til ur done then turn it back on when finished 🤷🏻♀️
Not for me
Omgggg I was finna make a complaint about this it’s annoying asf
@@ssheets1978 that’s not true. Once you hit that coffee button you can’t hit it again for another hour I think.
I did my first day as an Uber Driver. Had a great day, made more in one day then one day at my old job! Love these suggestions! Thank you for doing this! I have subscribed!
You likely didn't after expenses and also they won't continue to pay way. It's their way of getting you to drive and be dependent and then with each app update they lay you wayyyy less.
@@alexschu1245 I currently own a brand new (2022) Mitsubishi with a manual transmission that achieves an impressive average of 38.5 MPG. I have received valuable advice and have been implementing it successfully. I approach my driving experience with the same level of dedication and professionalism I have acquired throughout my years in customer service. As part of my exceptional customer service, I consistently provide bottled water and mints to my passengers. By delivering outstanding service, I have managed to convert some of the shorter rides, not always the most desirable ones, into longer and more profitable trips. Perhaps I am fortunate at the moment, but whatever strategies I am employing, they are yielding positive results.
@@alexschu1245It's possible, but very rare. I've driven for 5 years. Some days I made $40/hr. Most days I made less than minimum wage. Today I made $0 for the entire day. As of right now I'm actually in the negative. I need enough to pay for 2 full tanks of gas to break even. I'm also 2 months behind on the car payment and 1 month behind on rent. I don't know if there's too many drivers, lack of rides, or both. I've tried everything. I tried accepting every single ride, accepting only worthwhile rides, and even accepting only the best rides. Your rating makes no difference, Uber admits they remove low ratings. Uber also admits they censor us if we make them look bad.
As a passenger, I'd add: please do not use cologne and do not use scented car products. Some people are allergic.
I wish some of my passengers followed that advice! 😅
As a previous Uber driver, I’d add: please don’t fart in my car, rider. 💨 some people are allergic.
Most of the passengers don't like smell of overheated plastic or textile, or sweat, they prefer nice smell or cologne. You are allergic? Take a walk, other people doesn't need to suffer your problems.
Me too 😂😂@@pdashley1617
Thanks for ur valuable advice 🌹
Excelent info I been for a few months is been good for what I need, I don't need to work many hours.
Picking up food is time consuming and doesn’t pay enough.None of the food delivery apps including Uber eats gives you a loading sign.
But not everyone wants passengers in their vehicle. Sometimes, I'm in a rough area and I'll pick up food rather than a person. Also, if you don't own a car you can do deliveries on a scooter or e-bike which saves time because finding parking isn't a factor.
Hi Chris! Thanks to you and Sergio BTW, for the Show Me the Money series.
A couple of things, Las Vegas, where I drive is a small area, in many to most places the roads are shitty and the stoplights are many, with some very long along main roads, i.e. Flamingo, Tropicana, Desert Inn, and many more which cross the Valley E/W. Then there is road construction!
What all of this means, is with all of the above, there is more gas/battery used, abuse on the tires and oils. Nothing a driver to do can prevent or avoid this.
Regarding income, a video on what’s reportable tax-wise from your income doc’s, eg. Fees, etc.
Thanks!
I’ve been driving for about 6 years off and on, for some reason almost nobody wants to give tips anymore. It’s pretty disappointing when drivers pay for so much of what goes into, well…. driving a car. Lyft and Uber seem to want to include “tips” into the numbers for what drivers earn which allows them to keep the base pay somewhat lower. Tip your drivers folks, if you have no complaints tip your drivers!
It's all about lucrative business. Tips or not concentrate on what is yours
@@baetsangseleke4248What does THAT mean? If Uber and Lyft are making BILLIONS off of other people's driving, they need to either pay more or people should tip more. Period.
I tip almost every time. Especially if nice person clean.
As much as i appreciate this channel and all the advocating you are doing for the drivers, I can’t recommend driving these platforms at the rates and risk drivers are incurring. As a driver in this game for the last year and doing almost 3000 trips, you will drive your car into the ground, if you get an accident even if it’s not your fault, the rideshare company doesn’t give a shit about you no matter how many five stars you have. It’s better to find a part-time job that you don’t have to put your self at risk, making peanuts while the companies are overcharging and underpaying the people actually doing the work. Save yourself the hassle and don’t do rideshare anymore. It’s not worth it.
I totally agree with this. Been driving for 5 years. It's horrible now
The problem is that even part-time jobs are ridiculously low pay AND you have to wait for them to hire you, IF they do. With rideshare, at least it's something you can do as much or as little as you want. It's good when you're trying to earn something IN BETWEEN jobs.
Great advice God bless you
Lyft/uber treating drivers as slaves . $82 trip driver got $18 honest to God
Depends on the number of miles for $18. A dollar or more per mile is usually enough for drivers to accept. ..maybe it's the passenger being overcharged by the app.
Do you have any camera recommendation? Thanks.
Should be payed more if you have 4 riders under x

I got one..
When you come to MacArthur, stay offline until the flight lands or go outside of the airport (surge)no surge, no ride. Or they could just raise the rates and cut their percentages back to max 25-30%
Only if one drives on Long Island…
How are you ,do we need to register a dash cam when u driver Uber
Do you know anything about reserved drives? Do you have a video about that scheduled rides?
The reservations can be great when it is reservation to airport. U can get good tips. I do all the time
Can you introduce some good dash cameras?
I can’t see the amount $ it just shows 7 mins away how can I change that
I enjoy the honesty from your channel, but I suggest most of drivers that want to waste hours driving.they are better off flipping burgers part time as a second income or donating plasma 😅honestly most markets you bleed out on average 300 miles a day for a gross income of 200?
$200 a day is $1000 every 5 days with flexible hours. Works for parents who have kids in school. Plus the IRS lets us write off 65 cents per mile and other expenses when we file.
Uber Eats is just not profitable at all and I live in the Chicagoland area, which is a busy metropolitan area. I tried it for a week, and I was only making decent money from Starbucks and McDonalds. I had some requests for $2 to deliver food for a 4 mile drive. Not even worth getting out of the car when a tip is not guaranteed. I completely keep it off now. I focus on rides only.
My tip would be not to drive during the slow months due to all the oversaturation. It's criminal. Summer and winter in Los Angeles will have you questioning why you signed up in the first place. You can sit on the same corner for maybe half an hour or more and think to move to another corner in any popular area of the entire county you can think of: they're all swarmed with Uber/Lyft drivers and you have no requests. Or you didn't match fast enough and another driver took the request. As a new driver, you probably don't know requests were sent one at a time back in the day and this was not a problem. The requests under $5 go mostly unanswered, but those also are about all that will pop up. LAX lot? No, LAX lot is typically 300 cars any time you look and when you get there the queue will be full already, but you're nowhere close to LAX anyway so why burn the miles. Sorry, but no airport rides will conveniently pop up for you either! I spent over five hours out driving for Uber Tuesday to only pick up TWO people. One took me to Simi Valley and tipped $100 bill, but I ended up driving all the way back to Downtown LA (even after trying to wait for someone at Universal Studios but no one requested) and going offline in defeat. I wanted to accrue the hours for my $1300 medical stipend, but I don't know how at this crappy rate.
I drive in Bentonville, Rogers, Springdale, and Fayetteville, Arkansas
I will be driving there also any insight I need to know
I'm not from US I'm from a third world nation and your advices were great for new drivers. All the rules and suggestions don't apply here but still very informative. thanks. I have a different problem though, somedays i dont feel motivated to work at all, since driving is my sole earning way so not going to work everyday damage me a lot.
Incredible video
It’s ok to dirty app when it’s super Slow 🐢 or if out of town trying to get a ride back to your local area….. Use 2 devices when running more than one app if possible….
Can you travel uber across state lines?
Excellent
How do I get upfront pricing it doesn’t show a upfront pricing, only on the Uber delivery side it shows a upfront amount
Thinking about doing this. I need to have some income since Im unemployed at the moment. Does the app keep up with everything when it comes to taxes? I am signed up with amazon flex but i dont want to use it.
U r 1099. Independent contractor. Keep up with your miles and expenses to rid off on your taxes
are mercedes benz AMG 63 cars eligible for uber black? i only see like C-Class..... E-Class.... S-Class... in eligible list of cars on uber website.
Number 1 tip: learn to *Decline, Decline, Decline*
Decline or cancel?
But the rating is now linked to the acceptance percentage, ha ha, got you!
Hate rude politics driver's lie lie. Go Lyft.
Hi chris recently sergio visit to uber office n photo short with CEO Dara khusroshahi I wrote in comments that not a slightest clue in those features which mentioned rise in drivers fare۔
With this vedio we got the results that you are now behind the seen working for uber same I saw vlog of Henry insisting peoples to work for uber۔ chris you and sergio are close to uber you should tell them that in three thing lyft have upper edge۔
first upfront price in uber once you accepted the trip no more details۔ example can you buy food which shop keeper show for 10 second and then pack it n get the money but lyft show all trip details from start till finish۔ secondly lyft provide stay in area keep away from office hrs traffic rush۔ third destination set in uber once you set destination they will give you all direction trips they have no value of driver's choice lyft atleast give trips to close by area۔
since uber have big chunk in this business so they are adopting their own way due to this sometime we are campel to work for them۔ we saw some hope once in-drive n wridz will be in mojority of cities in-drive have showed better in cities in varrious countries۔
your vlog is gaining momentum so look and pass on to uber management with whom you are in contact۔
What about "acceptance rate"?
Anybody have the skinny on San Diego drivers and the potential net worth?
What do you do when you have a rider and you have not dropped off your rider and you get a ride xl request? This just happened to me. I did not agree to the xl ride because i had a ride going on at the time.i did not know if it was prebooking or what. Could someone tell me what it is doing 🤔
Its stacking the ride order. You can accept the ride and then finish out your current ride where the app will then route to to the next ride
Tip #1, accept that you will be a slave and have to agree to their Terms of Service before you can drive which says you will be their slave and accept it
What about ride share insurance AAA will charge me 40 more if I do rideshae for two days
$40 more per month? You can make that back in 2 or 3 hours.
@@natashadickson4819 I am still waiting my registration to get my plates. I like to get colorado navy veteran ones
We dont see all the information in my town. We just see time of ride, how far away they are and direction
It’s on your app map
Im a new driver. How come I dont see ride info. I spoke with support and they said its because Im a new driver. Is this true?
If your market doesn’t have upfront fares then you won’t see the ride info upfront. Many markets and cities have not changed to upfront fares and are still paid through time/distance model

Get in my car it’s Hey how you doing?, after that air pods back on I don’t really care about talking to random ppl. Unless they engage and then I’m forced to talk especially if they talk too much and ask questions lol
Is there anyone else that is trying to replace their job with ride sharing ? The Uber app itself says the average 50 hour week is $2K. I think that’s enough to cover expenses. But what do y’all think??
It's a lie. I drove around tonight and all I saw was offers for 30 minute drives @ $8. Likely most you'll do is 600
@Covebrewery not true. My brother just showed me his earnings for 1 day and a half and he made $507 so if he went for 2 full days he would have made about $600 and that's pretty good for 2 days work. A full week would be about $1300 a week and that's some good money just for driving around.
Depends on the market but here in the San Francisco Bay area, I would work about 60 to 70 hours just to clear $1200 a week
I talk all the time! Got a 1 star for it recently. Its my 3rd one. Going to sell my rideshare book out of the car from now on until I retire. I talked it up to every single passenger if possible. So sick of this gig job.
Some passengers don’t want to talk at all and will actually tip you if you stay silent.
Some passengers, females in particular, find it creepy if you’re silent…
Therefore, you need to test what the passenger wants…
@@onedaily2471 Oh I understand. I have conducted unknowingly a social experiment. I know a lot more than I will post here. You'll have to read my books to learn more.
Same
@@onedaily2471 Completely understand that too. Not everyone wants to talk.
Yep. You gotta feel your target market. Some of my passengers are silent and those are the ones most likely are NOT gonna tip. The ones I get good tips are the ones that love to talk. Best tips I've had are $12-15 for giving a good talk and a safe drive. Also..keeping a bottle of febreze in your trunk to keep your car smelling good. This goes along way and spray your car with Lysol at least twice a day to help keep the germs and such down. The febreze is VERY important if you got riders who smell like weed.
I run Lyft a few days a week, thus past Saturday i got a ping ya know for a ride etc, etc. I get the to the pick up, it was apartment/condos. 1 person walks out, then another, then another, total of 4! But here's the kicker, one girl walks out with maybe 13m old baby. The guy is at my rear passenger's door ya know, and im like i can't take all of you! He says what? I said im not taking all of you, you have a baby with no car seat, where is that baby going to sit safely in my vehicle? He just looked at me. And his girlfriend im assuming asked what did he say? I step out of my vehicle and i said, sorry i can't take all of you with a child and with no car seat, not gonna happen, even if was 2 of you. You still have a child with no car seat, no protection of any kind before getting into my car, not if was just the 4 of u and no kid fine, you have 4 adults, 1 kid, no car seat ! Call another Lyft, YOU need an suv and a car seat, period! The man understood after i explained it. He was cool, but his girl wasn't! I left!
Very few pax use seat belts anyway, so the passenger count is about moot.
And regarding citations from cops about too many people, I've NEVER heard of that actually happening to any driver. I believe it's slightly more common than winning the mega millions jackpot and slightly less common than being struck by lightning.
@@bossbrent lmao, good points
That happens all the time
Sounds like more gas wasted and a cancelation without pay
Even if she had a car seat where is the child going to sit, 3 adults in the back and one in the front, where's the room for the kid.
How to “shut off” new requests while driving??
Goto the option on the lower right hand corner and it’ll pull up a screen and it’ll have a red hand in a circle that says stop new requests
Tip number 1: dont drive for these crooks. They steal half of the money from you
Nowadays, them ONLY stealing half of your money is considered good, as they steal consistently 75-80% of your pay.
@@onedaily2471 yep
Half? Where do you drive? I want to go there. They take 75-80% from me
Now you know why unions were formed.

Food delivery just plain sucks! Averaged about $9 an hour to hire me, my car, burn the gas, and wear and tear. There is no control over inept food service workers, and some food workers think YOU are being confirmed and you have no way to verify the sealed order. Whe they satrt that, I cancel, walk away, and let the restaurant scrap the food and refund the customer.

New drivers don't waste your time neither resources. You will spend more money that what you make driving Uber and Lyft.
That looks .Bad Ass Jeff
The stupidest thing about Lyft:
You could have both Lyft and Uber on. And you get a ride on Uber.
While driving your Uber passenger you keep Lyft on. You got a couple of lyft requests that you ignore
You drop your passenger off and sit and wait for your next ride
But because you have Uber up you don't realize that lift has logged you off.
What benefit is it for lyft to log you off and not tell you?
It doesn't benefit Lyft, it doesn't benefit you and it doesn't benefit possible Lyft passengers.
It's an easy fix, but lift evidently has no idea how its drivers multitask and use the apps.
That’s why you pause Lyft when you accept Uber. Same with multi apps with delivery and ride share vice versa.
@@ChickenThug55 I always keep both apps on at all times. Because if I'm on my way to pick up a $5 Lyft ride and I get offered a 35.00 Uber airport ride you had better believe I'm goin to cancel that Lyft ride to go for the big fish. Same goes the other way around if Lyft gives me a big ride. I have been driving for 7 years 8 to 10 hours a day 6 days a week. Of course you have to be careful because Lyft likes to threaten you for canceling too many rides. But this is all besides the point because Lyft is really mostly hurting itself if I'm off lift for a little while, I have zero chance of getting a ride on Lyft and 100% chance of getting a ride on Uber. Lyft forgets that if it's driver is not online then they can't accept rides. Uber pings you when they ask you if you want to go offline after x number of ride requests rejected or missed. This is why Uber is a much better app in every way and Lyft is just stupid and that is why they may eventually go under.
You say figure out cost of driving. How do you recommend someone do that?
Math, you should have stayed in school.
Don't see drop off point in Australia.
Uber eats aint worth it here in phx az

Don’t quit your day job rule number one
Uber teen? Where is this option??
I have all the evidence and facts against Uber, and all I need is a lawyer to follow up on the case
It's still profitable if you know how to strategies! I am happy with $15 to $25 an hour. I hit those most of the time
Uber is robbing me and I can't do anything about it because I have mobility issues. It's shameful
Why anyone would try to do Uber or Lyft at this time is beyond me but if you're looking to lose money and waste time, have at it!!
I’ve never understood trying to cherry pick between two apps. Seems like more trouble than it’s worth
I have noticed a decline in my earnings. So I am doing something else and only drive during surge times. I reject about 80 percent of the trash they send me. getting worse and worse Dont do it you will lose big time. These people are rotten to the core at this company. Do you want to move forward and increase earnings or go backwards and decrease them? With Uber you are going backwards as they become more and more profitable from stealing your money
Depends. In Northern New Jersey we regularly have $8, $15, $22 surges and up ! I've driven people 3 miles for $30. :)
@@mikefigures5075while here in Eastern PA, in 2 hours only received 2 calls 😅, very disappointed. My profile is high, but looks like it doesn’t matter. Actually looking for another job to pay bills😊
@@mikefigures5075 sometimes I get that. But there is definitely a decline. Unless it's a holiday weekend, new years or the day before Thanksgiving. Used to be like that. They are chipping away at your profits in order to raise their profits.
They need to know that they need to know that they need the proper insurance when using their car as a commercial vehicle. They need to know they need a cam because they will be falsely accused of harassment. The need to know that money is not made as easily as it used to be. They need to know that waiting at the airport is not worth it, it takes 2 to 3 hours to get a ride.
I remember when I used to drive XL, waiting at the airport for 2-3 hours, only to get a $12 pay for picking up six passengers, twenty suitcases… and no tip… 😂
I don’t wish driving for Uber or Lyft even to my worst enemies.
One of the best decisions in my life was quitting driving for these crooks.
Norfolk airport, wait no more than 20m for a ride, and surprisingly, it pays decent. I guess it depends on the area. Last week, that's all I did, and I dropped off twice and picked up back to back. Made 313 and change. Out of that, 78 was tips. Time on, not online time, 3 hours 42m
Tip.#21 try to find any other job to make money rideshare business is not like it used to be and if you still want to make up your mind to be a modern age slave
I told you those guy take money under the table from uber.
If you do that from the beginning you never go to work in UBER.
Whos really profiting? Can you keep more than min wage per hour?
The CEO. No.
If you're about to start driving Uber/Lyft, the only thing you need to know is don't do it. Do anything else. You'll make more at Walmart
Truth. All of these people bragging about how much they make daily, but they aren’t even talking about what they made after expenses for that day. Look at that number after you do the math and get back to me.
Okay now I’m convinced people are dumb your going to tell them they are not making any serious money. Or how they are going to blow their cars into the ground in a year. Some of our guys would sell you complete souls for views on youtube and it’s saddening
Does it sound like a joke? Do you hear any owner operator or small business owner making business and get pay as a way of $$/hr? But Uber/Lyft treat drivers by this foolish calculation. If you are an employee without any investment, this sounds not bad! Driver can earn at least $25/hr.
Most stores don’t take $100 dollars bills lol
Well you did 3000 trips in a year for these companies and I can understand why you’d be bitter.
The number one tip I would suggest is not screw up your car and waste your time this platform...

Tip #1. Leave. Its not worth it anymore. End of list.
Why is it not worth it anymore
I don't trust rideshare guy channel at all.
Why
Is that dara's handprint on your butt cheek? Or is he just glad to give you bad rides
As CEO, I mean why look at a screen when you can get your holiday bonus and be on vacation...

The tip is dont do it!
***GET a hybrid luxury car, ie. Lincoln MKZ or Lexus etc. The nicer car makes more $, the hybrid saves gas. Spend the $ on a camera that records inside the car as well as outside. Keep the car clean and dress worth a darn, not like a slob.
Who the hell has the money for what your suggesting?! Most people are using their personal cars, not driving limos! People need to get off their high horse!
@@ThePaganSun I made $1100 in the last 4 days working less than 12 hours riding that "high horse" in a car I only paid $10K for (and yes, it is my only car)... smarter not harder
@gerryaustin8687 Good for you. I highly doubt that's true or you must live in some ritzy neighborhood. But obviously not everyone can afford a hybrid (which don't cost $10,000!) or on dashcam, nor should they expected to dress like butlers or chauffeur if they're not getting paid as one...
I live in the middle of NC . I explained the cost. You don’t have to accuse me of being on a high horse bc I work smart and hustle. What’s wrong with wearing a collared shirt and khakis from Goodwill??? Why did you assume “ritzy”. Why is it so hard to believe hard work and working smarter can succeed? I hope we all make that kind of money. A lot of success depends on mindset. I believe I’m a winner and I believe I’ll succeed. If you think you’ll win or you think you’ll lose, you’re correct.
@gerryaustin8687 I accused you for having a "high horse" when you expect people to buy hybrids and dress up for a job that's usually just their side hustle. If you could make it work, great! But again, most people aren't gonna buy a hybrid or dress like a butler to make some extra cash on Uber. Gotta tailor your advice for what's realistic for most people.
And you claiming that making money is "all about mindset and hardwork" is extremely out of touch with the millions of people that DO try to have a positive attitude and DO work hard but get paid peanuts anyway. Why is it so hard for people like you to believe that most of good pay nowadays IS about luck, networking or already being born wealthy?? You think "hard work" matters if your base pay is $15 or less???
Why do people keep saying stupid shit. Expenses for most are. 65 cents a mile the rate is calculated for a reason.
Honestly is too much libility, too expensive, too much risk for very little money. If you want to make a living you better off driving a truck.

Tip #1: DON'T DO IT! It's a scam.

Biggest tip ....QUIT ASAP.
