Depends on the passenger. I have many people in my area that are "regulars". Some need a stop for coffee on way to work. Or need a round trip to the convenient store. They usually tip decent, are friendly, and go quickly. I will rate them 3 or lower if it doesn't work well. They get me one time, but not again.

Been driving for 4 months with Uber. One thing I learned is you have to be comfortable with saying NO! Particularly on Friday and Saturday nights. Don’t allow any kind of drinks in your vehicle especially those red cups! It’s your car it’s your responsibility it’s you who will pay don’t ever think a passenger will own up to anything if police👮‍♀️ get involved for any reason. Make sure passengers wear seat belts if they give you attitude or question…..really you shouldn’t have to explain yourself it’s self explanatory and the law but I always say in the event of an accident or emergency Ubers insurance will not cover you. And definitely not your personal insurance won’t cover it. If they keep giving attitude I politely tell them that they need to find another driver. Don’t let passengers who are absolutely hammered into your vehicle. When you get to your stop and you see your passanger(s) stumbling or been helped carried to your car do not take that ride . That passenger is to sick to get into your car into ANY car especially if you are driving a particularly nice car. Too many things can go wrong they may throw up in your car chances are they won’t were a seat belt they will be a backseat driver and give attitudes tell you if you can stop at the liquor store whatever it’s not worth your time.
You have to be comfortable to tell people NO. it’s your time not there’s it’s your car not there’s and it’s ALL your responsibility Uber will not back you up
So far all you rideshare drivers app workers gig workers bless your hearts stay humble stay positive and most importantly STAY SAFE!

He had more than the accepted amount of passengers due to lockdown measures back then, explained he could only take a few and they needed to call for an extra car. The riders belted him and stomped on his car.
He had to pay all expenses related to his damaged vehicle, no counselling was offered that had to come out of his own pocket and the riders were given a slap on the wrist.

They know, but they don't care; they listen NEVER to the drivers' input. That company's sole goal is to make money and place the burden(s) on the drivers.
I had two riders who had a stop. They were two college chicks who stopped to order smoothies from a shop located on the street with no parking. The two cheapskates left no tip.
If they're (rideshare companies) going to force drivers to make stops on behalf of riders, the rideshare companies should tack on a flat flee of at least $5 for a stop, with a counter that ends at 5 minutes. After the countdown, the ride should be canceled. If there's no legal, safe parking, there should be no stop at all.

If the ppl never got in his car, the camera couldn't catch it, now he is fighting trying to be able to earn, but can't because he followed the rules?
How could this sort of thing be handled so that the driver protects themselves from a bogus claim

If I'm in a busy area / closing time surge, I'll cancel quickly and disregard the fee. The next surge ping usually comes immediately. If it's still slow, I'll run the full 5 minutes and take the chump change fee. Possibly could make more waiting it out and doing the ride, but it's already off to a bad start so I just cut my losses and move on.

I once had a couple get in my car. While in the car, they edited the ride so it had 3 stops. Stop A, then stop B, then finally ending exactly where they started. They get in, we go to the first stop, which is where the guy worked. He says he'll be a few minutes, and gets out of the car. He leaves the girl in the car! We just sit there in complete silence for TWENTY minutes, then he gets back in the car. I swear I wanted to report them to Uber.
Uber kept asking me if the ride was going okay and I said yes.
Second stop was not so bad. Went to a restaurant to pick up food, and they both got out, and came back in about 5 minutes.
Worst ride ever. Ended up averaging about $18 per hour for about an 80 min ride. They had a high rating when I picked them up so I didn't expect such BS.

I'm going to have too look into the Florida law regarding that. And here's an idea you may want to pass along. Police Scanners. Currently, Florida law only allows first responders to have a police scanner in their personal vehicles. I recently wrote to the state representatives for my part of Florida asking them to amend the statute to allow rideshare drivers to carry scanners in their cars for safety reasons. You never know. You could receive a pickup or drop off request to a not-so-good area of town. The State Legislature meets in March.

Uber and Lyft should increase the riders cancellation fees. A group of riders will each request a ride and take the first one that gets there...with other drivers on their way. If Uber and Lyft charged $10 or $15 to cancel, riders might think twice before utilizing this trick. Furthermore, 100% of cancellation fees should go to the drivers.

The one about the unaccompanied minors is actually good for drivers to know I’ve actually ran into this where a parent will order a ride for a 14 or 15 year-old and I have to 100% when I get there because I don’t know when advance tell them I’m sorry I can’t give you a ride and less somebody 18 or above is with you. I feel bad, but I need to follow rules .
It comes to car seat or booster seat. I actually get out and buckle those seats in my self. This way I 100% know for sure that it is buckled in correctly.

I’m not concerned because I have a sign up in my vehicle, stating that I have the cameras and getting in my vehicle and starting the ride is consent to be recorded.
I had one guy ask me to speed because he was going to be late for his job interview. I told him politely I’m sorry you should’ve requested your ride sooner. I’m not gonna get a ticket for you. He says to me well what about if I pay the ticket I told him no I’m not endangering my life for you. I’ve got a family I want to go home to after my shift

I felt uncomfortable and I dropped him off in the middle of nowhere because I felt unsafe. I even made a police report with Uber‘s help .

I have also seen the, "anchor items", used as a bait switch to get a full refund for the ride, or lowball the driver with a bad rating, because they will claim the item was, "lost", and worst yet, "stolen".
Few times that has happened to me, and was able to show in the drivecam that no item was left behind, or anything was taken.

Hello I have question if passenger coming to my car did I need to say my dash camera record video and audio or I don't need to do that?

No, the app tells them after a driver has been secured for them.

Question: seatbelts?? I advise every rider that enters my vehicle to put on their seatbelt and I do not drive off until I see all seatbelts secure. So my question… If a passenger removes their seatbelt or “fooled” me by not putting their belt in securely and you are unaware that they have done this. What would happen if you was to be pulled over by police?

In San Diego county Uber now has UberX-Teen. I'm wondering other than myself if they changed the minimum 18 year old in the car.

Waiting for someone to buckle in a car seat sounds like getting screwed. If it takes longer than 5 minutes, it’s gonna be hard to cancel while they are in the back seat hooking up a car seat. Ugh.

yeah, car seat takes a decent amount of time. Booster seat is rapid.

Did you report it in the Uber app that you have a dash cam? I recently got one because a drunk passenger accused ME of driving while intoxicated! I just found it in the app that we have to report it so Uber can notify the passenger that we have a dash cam.

Rider told Uber that after the ride was completed , they were not picked up after I verified I picked up the correct rider. They claimed I picked up the wrong rider.

That should be extremely easy for Uber to see is fraud LOL. Like some things could make it harder, but still super easy.

They fixed it but it keeps happening. I just wanted others to be aware and watch their pay. Uber didn't notify me about it. I was looking through my pay.@DanielDTUBWeinberger

On another note yesterday I drove 19 minutes to pick up a rider just to see the rider had a dog on a leash. I got the cancellations fee of 3 .92 for the rider canceling the ride. We as drivers should get a fee to drive to pick up the riders.

I had someone do the same, never mentioned they had a dog until he was texting me to look for him at a specific spot..."I'm here with my dog, she's clean"....um nope. I'm pet friendly and have a dog in my home that sleeps on my bed, but he's never been in my car
