So many commenters seem to have a personal dislike for Dershowitz and attorneys in general. That is, until you find yourselves in a legal dilemma, falsely accused or not, facing severe criminal prosecution or financial ruin. Only then will you personally understand why everyone, even the most loathsome, are entitled to vigorous legal representation.
Too many have been falsely accused and vindicated decades after the fact. Some never vindicated. Even the guilty are entitled to due process under the law. There are no exceptions, no matter how you feel personally.
Everyone's morals are different. If our Constitution and justice system were based on how the majority feels, many innocent people would suffer with no recourse.
Alan Dershowitz is a renowned legal scholar and defense attorney because of his skilled advocacy, not his personality. He is a legal scholar, not a politician. Whether he's likeable is immaterial.
