Its finally nice to know the specs of an 18x11 that can fit all four corners on a thirdgen.
Love how informative your videos are. Not the typical " yep I put welds on, here's how they look!" spacer info, wheel info, tire info. Car looks great. I use your videos as guides on doing things to my third gen lol. Keep it up.
Man, she looks good, gotta be a great drive / handling. Those are some FULL wheel wells! LOL
i love those rims, quite possibly my favorites on a third gen next to ronals(firehawk)
Nice looking camaro keep up the great work sir👍
Thanks for sending over the videos. Look great.
Wishing RUclips had a feature of being able to comment with a photo but Weld S71's are a phenominal wheel choice! I have some S71's reps on my dark teal 91 RS, 18x10 and 18x8 wrapped with some Continental Extreme Contact DWS06's with 295/35/R18's in the rear and 245/35/R18's in the front. Shouldve gotten some meatier tires in the front to be honest but I just love the looks of these wheels. Keep up the great content man
all my choices are to GO-FAST at the autocross
so they don't make a ton of sense for street guys who just drive around and enjoy their cars.
18x11 is on the bleeding edge of not fitting.
Wow it looks really good
Good video good music nice wheels
Looks great.
Just a FYI, it looks like my Steering stop mod didn't hold up,
so another method of avoid rubbing at full lock is needed.
a better steering stop design or the like
Like the bomp stop that you install so that the tire winnt rub👍🏻
Looks great
beautiful snow white car!
hey will trimming the cobra breaks and 3mm spacer will fit right and on a 03 cobra 15x4/ 15x10
Beautiful car! Go ahead and brag, those wheels DO look fantastic! I'm actually kinda jealous.
nice work !
How much space you have with the aftermarket calipers in the front...I'm running 5th gen Camaro calipers up front and gonna do some 18x8.5 with 6 in backspacing and wanted to know if it will work for m
Nice! I see you autocross as well, what suspension setup have you got? If you don't mind my asking
Nice! 💣🔥🔥
As normal what a great video, I have the same setup but I went with 17”
This it amazing....I have a trans am 1989 and I want to put 4 wheels 18x11 but is not way to find it ..can you tell me how to order for my car please 🥺 and I'll preciate....
Do you have part numbers on those welds 18x11
Love the wheels. If I wanted to do a staggered setup with a 10in wide up front what offset would it be ?
a 10in wheel would need like 5.75in-6in backspacing
But it can vary from car to car.
I know a 17x9.5 or 18x9.5 with 5.5 or 5.25in backspacing fits like 99% of 3rdgens.
perfect for a 275/40r17 or 275/35R18 tire.
Decent tire selection in those sizes.
Nice 👌
Great breakdown of the wheels. I am currently working on putting some on my 1992 Firebird. Do you know what the offset was on the wheels? Thanks for the info.
you can use a calculator online to convert my back spacing specs to offset.
@@3rdGenGuy thanks. I was just playing around with that too.

Finally uploaded a video of mine after watching yours. Can't wait to get some wheels on it. I have a big brake upgrade to install too!
The wheels look GREAT!! Say how dose the car ride with all the work you have done like is it stiffer going down the road .
these cars don't ride soft, they are rough and noisy but fun as fuck
@@trillrifaxegrindor4411 Yeah your right about that.
honestly, since my car is modified for Autocross, i noticed NO change in ride quality over the old 245s
Seeing as you ran a 5/8 spacer up front could you possibly run 6.5" backspacing all the way around
yep, 6.6in of B.S. on all 4.
Thought the issue was the center cap over the hub , wouldn't that be the same issue with a 6.6" back spacing?
How did you get to order the deep dish spec ? On the lip? Trying to order some for my C5 but not sure how to go about it since it only seems to give me the back space/front space option. Was wanting these exact ones you have ! Please help me out here
WELD has 3 spoke options.
low, Med, and high.
i have the high pad heights.
that makes the spokes less straight and more curved.
Great vid. Where did you get the spacers?
I believe Summit racing
I’ve been all over weld’s site and I can’t find an 18x11” or 18x10.5” wheel with anything less than 7.75” backspacing ?? Did you have yours built with a custom offset?
Their website is weird.
go on Summit Racing and use their filtering options.
also ALL WELD wheels are built to order.
you order what specs you want, the wheel is then made for you
I’m looking to order a similar set but weld says they can’t do it in those specs😭
So if you have 6.5 rear backspace with a 2” spacer it’s that essentially a 4.5” backspace?
if your wheel is a 18x11 with 4.5in of back space, adding a 2in spacer would get you the 6.5in you need.
Is there any links for buying this size anymore? I’ve having a hard time finding anything over a 9.5 that will fit. I have a 2jz 92 that needs some new shoes
ulysses ur 100% race, a 18x11 is gonna be a bad time for a street driven car.
Remember, tire compound > tire width.
run say a Yokohama 275/35r18 A052 tire on a 18x9.5 and you'll have Plenty of grip.
as far as ordering, these are all Custom orders. so you won't find any off the shelf wheels in that size.
Wow
I wonder how much harshness comes in and how straight the car goes with 18 inch wheels.
ride quality from the stock 16s to the 18s was identical, at least in my case.
can depend on the build since mine is 100% autocross it already rides very harshly.
the wider tires love to follow the road imperfections though.
Great info for my playlist - got $2000 saved up so far for a fbody 🙆🐱
add a zero and its play time....
that wouldnt buy these rims and tires......keep saving
@@trillrifaxegrindor4411 20k? He has enough to buy one now...
@@trashbandit2449 Thank you good sir for your kind words in support I am disabled and it's quite hard for me to save but despite his stuck up attitude I just this week and the proud owner of a 83 5spd Z28 with 104k needs paint for 4800! My dream has finally come true 😺😁👍
@@keepitscalestupid a five speed as well? Sweet! Good score.
It's good that some of these are still available so that everyone can get into a sporty car. Ignore that guy, you've already won. It's almost summer too, safe cruising
Are these the 'high pad' version of the wheels?
ya, the 18x11 only come in the high pad as far as i could see.
Y a spacer in the front ? Was 6' bs not enough?
i went with 6.6in BS on all 4 wheels so i could rotate tires.
spacers get me that 6in front 6.5in rear.
after seeing the wear on my Autocross tires, that was the right call.
How much did you lower your car from stock height? Wheels looks great
stock 3rd gen ride height was very tall, about 28in ground to the top of the fender wells.
my car is about 25.5in front 26in rear
my car isn't super low, and there's good reason for it.
anytime your LCA or front A-arms go beyond parallel, (aka pointing upwards) the geometry goes all wack. so handling is decreased. but i only care because this is an Autocross car where 0.1 seconds matters a lot
@@3rdGenGuy I completely understand that. The stance is dope. Goodluck racing.
@@coyosborne6137 if you only want the looks, you can SLAM the SOB lol.
Can I fit 15x7 with 3.75 in of backspacing all around on my 3rd gen
no idea man
When I bought my field find 85 Iroc it had 15x8's on it all the way around but I never measured the back space on them. Ran them for a summer then went to 18's both require a speedo adj if ya want accuracy.
@@KingKatRider if you run 18s it doesn't require shit other than to check fitment,as long as you understand the need to use the same circumference tire.
a circle is a circle,if a 15" tire and a 20" tire are the same circumference, they affect the speedo the exact same way...example:NOT AT ALL
quick question, first off the car is awesome.. the 18x11 rears, is it a stock length rear end. Im sure you mentioned this before but I couldnt find it. Thanks
rear end is factory 3rd gen width
@@3rdGenGuy what would you guess for backspacing/offset for a square 10.5?
I would have guessed 6.5 but that's about what you're running with a half inch wider wheel...
@@trashbandit2449 backspacing would be the same as what I have. 18x11 or 18x10.5 makes no difference. that extra 1/2in of width is pushed out to the fender.
6in BS front
6.5in rear
(i used 6.6in BS on all 4 and use a spacer to rotate tires)
if you want wide tires and are semi serous about autocross/road racing, I HIGHLY suggest doing 18x11. wider wheels are always better.
@@3rdGenGuyI'm sorry they're actually 18x10, not 10.5
yeah it's just the wheels I like in the chevy bolt pattern are only 18x10, 5, or 12 (forgestar D5. Looks similar to weld but less expensive)
The 18x10 offsets are 25, which should put the backspacing right at 6.5.
@@trashbandit2449 6.5in BS rear would still work, the wheels would be tucked inside the fenders by about 1in compared to a 10.5 or 11.
having the wheels tucked in tight might cause issues if your suspension is still street focused though.
also, the 3rd gen Hub bore is 2.777in or 70.5mm. so i see those D5 wheels have a few hub bore options.
What happened to the Morrow wickerbill?
i made a 10in version for my Autocross class. I copied the the Morrow bill, just taller made from acrylic
@Iroc87 i have a video in the makes. might be a while before you see it though.
So what would the offset be on these wheels? I honestly don't understand wheel specs haha
there are online offset to backspacing calculators.
One clean azz 3rd gen
how did your auto cross times change?
it's hard to compare times directly because every Autocross course is different. that and diver skills improve over time. but going from 400tw 245s to 200tw 295 was worth abut 8 seconds a lap.
Also my suspension was 100% ready for those tires, so a more tame build might not gain as much.
Sucks that spacers are still needed but I guess there's not really a choice unless you pay for custom offsets.
WELD wheels are semi custom, they had either 6.1in or 6.6in Back space available.
i choose 6.6 on all 4.
the rear spacers probably aren't needed, but i need to race with them first.
the front 1/2 or 5.8 spacer is so i can rotate all 4 tires.
Is that the stock rear end? I’m just curious because I just got mine to point of picking wheels. Not sure if I’m going with 10 or 11” wheel. obviously a 10” wheel would be 5.5 back spacing backspacing
my axle is a 10 bolt.
if you went with a 8.8 or 9in axle you'd just make sure the axle was the same width.
i'd go with the 10in wheel, easy to package and probably wont have to cut anything.
also not the weld wheels come in diff caliper heights low..med..High when ordering pick a pad /caliper heights..
yes, there's a Low, Med, and high pad height.
BUT for 18x10.5 or 18x11s the pad height is all the High pad height
i think the high pad height looks the best so it's fine by me.
How the heck you get 335s in the front?
watch my other 2 wheel fitment videos!
Is no one going to address that he welded a socket onto the lug nut socket. They have a hex patter on them for a reason. So you can use a proper fitting socket on them.
I wended the spline lug nut socket to a larger socket for ease of use
I have and always will be a third gen guy
Stock height?
about 2in lower than stock at 26in ground to the tops of the fenders.
Your rotors are on backwards.
Why was a 6” front backspacing ordered when you were just going to use a large spacer like that? Just ordered the wrong backspacing? Try not speaking so much like a robot. I know proper inflection is useful for being understood but it sounds sooooo unnatural where you took it to. Relax a bit and you sound more personable. The level of info is useful though.
so I could rotate all 4 tires.
SUPER important when your race tires cost nearly $500 EACH!
a small spacer is well worth being able to extend the life of my race tires
@@3rdGenGuy but you got 2 different backspacings. 6.5” rear and 6.0” front.
