Thanks for this video. I used 400, 600, 1000, 1500, 2000, 2500, 3000n and Blue Magic metal polish, and my 2019 Kawasaki Versys 1000 SE LT's exhaust and heads is back to brand new again. Before I started the bike up, I used isopropyl alcohol and wiped everything down to remove all oil and polish from the heads and exhaust. It's like I have a brand new exhaust, and the headers are catching my eyes again. 🥰 It took me 4 hours to do it, because I made sure to sand everything once, so I don't have to do this for another couple of years, hopefully.
You are welcome. I am so glad that you try this and that you are happy with the results, a little elbow grease goes a long way .This is the reason I make youtube videos.👊✊👌
awesome result!!, anyway my question is, will this process damage the header in the long run? some said using different method like using harpic 10x would remove the chrome. in short the headers will corrode easy and short lived (if its true though). and by the way, is that just a clean water? or water with soap?
Thanks for the video Esier with the pipes off the bike though. I'm not taking my exhausts off to clean them. I just use 'Dr Downpipe' but I don't get what you're are getting.
Tnx mate,I don't know exactly but for sure one day proces,it is time consuming all that sanding. If the time is problem for you and your headers are not in very bad shape a have another video on my channel, it is very fast and if done right the results are awsome.
Shine will last long time, but color of the pipies will change very fast after one ride will start to go a little yellow but that is normal due to heat cycles of the engine. On my headers the first bend get a blue and puprle color.

I would have stopped after the 1200 sand paper... looks better with a brushed aluminum look than mirror finish imo
Yeap you could leave it on 1200,i was thinking the same but i just wanted to see how shiny i could get them 🤣
Nice 👍
Great video, I have an 08 FZ6 that needs this desperately and a Ducati scrambler with a surprisingly rough finish on it's pipes.
Tnx man that means a lot,if you have time this is preaty rewardnig DIY.

Tnx man , that means a lot 👊🏼
What would happen if I just used the 600 paper ?
You will have problem polishing it to mirror finish.
Awesome vid. How long did you sand before moving up grit?
Tnx man i really appreciate it,i can't give you the exact time frame, you will feel when its time to move to next grit.
I hope that makes sense.

How does it keep up with time?
It looks awsome, even better the headers got goldish color but the shine is still there .
@@Motogents Nice! Probably going to do the same to mine!
So in order Acid-->Sand Paper-->Polish if I am not wrong
@@stealthworks9758 Yeap that's it,but if your headers are not in very bad shape you can skip acid part and just go with sanding and polish.
@@Motogents sweet ty for the info .. ill 100 % be doing this to my bike
