  • If you are working in Fusion and need to delay the start of a clip, the TimeSpeed node is the way to do it. In this video I show you how to use this feature so you can use it in your upcoming projects.

    Exactly what i needed. Thank you very much. Totally needed if you compose multiple videos in fusion.

    Please be conscious that some of us are new to this software and have no idea what hot keys you're pressing. Thank you for content creation though you are greatly appreciated.

    Great tutorial The way you explain things are really great. You do it slowly so it is to comprehend. Other youtubers run so fast through the tutorials that you get lost very easy. Thank you so much

    WOW! finally! I only wanted to simply delay the appearance of an alembic .abc animated file (in Fusion) in my video.
    I added the timespeed node in after the render3d, adjusted the delay and First Time right away it worked!
    It even began the animation at the new delay time, perfect!
    I'm so happy.
    The workaround I had previously in mind was super complex and I was not looking forward to it.
    Thank you for this video mate!
    I'm using Davinci Resolve 17 (free edition) by the way.

    Thanks for the good tutorials, but what was the tracking node for? I'm not so experienced with Fusion.
    Cheers

      +Alex S I used the tracking so that the effect moved with the scene

    this is a neat trick so one doesn't have to manually set keyframes for the delayed clips.. I've successfully used this in some projects.. but today I wanted to use it on a ImagePlane3D-node (I'm rotating images in 3D space around an invisible cylinder).. I've set up some good keyframes for the first image and thought I'd use TimeSpeed to just delay the appearence of image2, 3 etc.. but no.. TimeSpeed cannot be attached to ImagePlane3D nodes (or Transform3D).. argh..

    • @TheDanishDiscGolfGuy
      @TheDanishDiscGolfGuy 4 года назад +1

      Doh.. and just as I posted this, I figured it out.. send it through a Render3D-node first.. then timespeed can be applied. yay!

      I also work with ImagePlane3D. I have this way
      [Medial1] ------> [Timespeed1] ------> [Merge1] ------> [Deltakeyer] -----> [ImagePlane3D]
      [Medial2] ------> [Timespeed2] ------> [Merge2] ------>/
      [Medial3] ------> [Timespeed3] ------> [Merge3] ------>/
      Where should I put Render3D? I've tried everything in different versions. But nothing works

    Since you use the same clip 3 times, couldn't you just use the same media input and connect it to 3 different transform nodes?

      @@pioopyo6360 You add it like literally any other node, there are multiple ways of doing that. This is not a beginner's tutorial to show all of the keypresses and buttons in the interface. If you don't know how to add a mode, you should refer to a beginner's guide to fusion.
