Say what you will about recoded but everything from castle oblivion onward has some the best most POWERFUL punches to the gut in the series
That line from Roxas about forgetting someone important gnawing at you forever is just so poignant
The hurt test in general is just so god damned good as a dry run for the Prime Sora to take on all the burdens of the other trios+namine and set things right
Someone wrote up a post about how KH shows that simply forgetting trauma or having memories of it erased doesn’t erase the pain, and how powerful of a message that is. Like, even when Xion gets decanonized from the series to the point where she never existed, there’s still a Xion-shaped hole in everyone’s heart, and that’s what allows her to come back.
Man. Than scene with Namine and especially the scene within the others memories of Sora always hits right in the feels...

man recoded is such a fun time. when its not being really emotionally poignant, its the funniest game ever, and I'm so able to roll with both of those modes lol. unironically some of my favorite parts of roxas's characterization come from cutscenes here, also data soriku are incredibly cute and sweet

Maleficent casually mentioning the data scape & the book of prophecies. How it all seems familiar. I guess Union Cross & Dark Road are really becoming important to Kingdom Hearts 4. Great job! Love watching your reactions to the series!

What a stellar start to the video Starts with orangecat in the first minute.
Some of the music from the DS games gives off MegaMan: Battle Network vibes. The two versions of a track called No More Bugs are my favorites out of this game.
The lip movements are synced to the Japanese audio, but for some reason Hades is the only exception. The post-credit scene with Mickey and Yen Sid was also synced to the English audio.
The little breakdown in No More Bugs is one of favorite musical sequences in all of KH
I feel so sad for Roxas, I guess it makes why he wants sora to feel hurt. Roxas does have the saddest story. I feel like crying...
Its said that Nomura came up with the idea for Coded while drunk.
I love, LOVE the way Roxas says "It's way past time you learned what real Hurt feels like!" so much emotion ;A;
And it's completely false and was made up by a random forum user who randomly added it to an interview they translated.

I love as I get farther in this series I can see the emotional attachment for all of these characters grow and intensify.

I loved the ds version because some worlds played differently from the usual kh hack and slash. Some worlds were minigames, Olympus played like a turn based FF game.
