I played Crisis Core Reunion! I had watched the original a year ago before playing FF7 Remake so I decided to playthrough this new remaster and suffer once again!

What REALLY screws with my head (more than the rehall of the voice acting) is how much of a NICE GUY Sephiroth was before he lost his sanity... Like, he was actually a HERO
And the fact he gave Zack the day off to visit Aerith, what a chill guy!

Oh Frankieroth... Crisis Core is an emotional journey of a truly spectacular and special character. I'm glad to see how much this game affected you as it did to me when I was much younger playing this masterpiece on my PSP. Let's hope our favourite boy from Gongaga appears in Rebirth. But Zack... In my heart, you were and always will be a hero.
This game is such a rollercoaster and your playthrough embodies that. All the highs and all the lows

Out of hype for FF16 a few months ago I got FF7CC reunion and platinumed the game, it was my first type experiencing crisis core and the game destroyed me, I loved it so much and zack was so amazing, the ending had me sobbing like a baby

@@0miy0 yess, I actually platinumed the game about 2 days ago, it honestly might be in my top 3 games of all time, it was amazing and I was sobbing even during the second round

It's not that this never happened it's simply sephiroth breaking through timelines through the life stream. The canon is still canon.

To be honest I still have my PSP version of Crisis Core, but I am happy they re-released it for the current game gens with the newer voice actors for the series moving on for Remake, Rebirth and whatever the call the 3rd game in the trio.

I always loved how Sephirtoh even with all his strenght and god complex he wasn't defeated by a soldier or an army just instead he was defeated by a regular person and that's why he hates Cloud

I had the first game back when it came out and it killed me. Playing this again knowing what happens at the end of remake didn’t hit me the same way. Still sad but looking forward to Zacks return in rebirth.

Ouwh..... My favourite friendship dialogues ever.
Crisis Core adds SO MUCH to the FFVII lore....Remake and Rebirth add like a complete +2 in emotional involvement just because Zack story is revisited there. Zack is an awesome charachter, he has real personality and is really likeable, like he is not a made up character that ticks the boxes for you to like him,he just is human and likable and his tragic story and end resonates really hard with players. WHen I played it on my PSP knowing he was going to die from the start it was terrible, each playing hour I liked him more and at the same time I knew each playing hour got closer to him dying trying to get to Midgard to see Aerith.
Fun Fact: According to an interview published in Gamaga during October 2007, Nomura wanted to create something that deeply moved people despite the end being known.
Thay is why the staff ended up redoing the final sequence of Crisis Core around 20 times. But Nomura was extremely detailed in his feedback, and eventually his vision was achieved.

This game is interesting
The fact that they had you play Zack's final stand instead of putting it in a cutscene is positively diabolical, but also such a genius use of the video game medium. In a cutscene, we know we can do nothing to change the outcome. In gameplay, players will do everything in their power to change Zack's fate in vain. It's ten times more painful to realize that there's no surviving this for our boy, right alongside him. Still, we try, every replay, even knowing we'll fail again. Playing the hero of a doomed story.
I never got to finish this game, but i've seen this ending so many times and it ruins me every time. Square did a fantastic job with everyone who played FF7 knowing how the game would end yet still making it this hard to watch.

This game breaks everyone. When I first finished this game, that was the first time in probably 10 to 12 years that I hadn't cried, I was starting to think nothing would make me. The original FF7 didn't pull that off, even with what happens, no other FF pulled that off, nothing at the time pulled that off, I was stuck. Crisis Core did. It breaks everyone. 10 years after CC I had to be broken again by something else. Now I think I have relatively normal emotional reactions.
I still ugly cry every time nowadays when seeing this ending. I can't. Not today, screw this.

It is the best FF game in the series. Tying in all the little details and how much Zack goes through. The transfer of honor to Cloud. Him having to take out his mentor and more. It makes sense why Sephiroth and Genesis lost it. To realize what you are and to be created in such a way to be a monster. I wouldn't blame them.
Heck, Zack was just a baby. Now a grown man having to go against the company and go out like that. To never see Aerith again and even her backstory is messed up. The game does a great job in making you feel for all these characters. Cloud having amnesia problems and going through the trauma of losing his home and experimented on is wild. I would be stoic and sassy too. He was a kid as well. Big Daddy Sephiroth finds out he is not even human is what gets me. All of them are technically not human anymore but Sephiroth wasn't even a human like that if I remember. Finding out your mother is a space rock makes you think doesn't it?
Played this game years ago but the remake is looking great and all i could hope for
I really do like this game a lot, the story telling, the animations (sometimes), and even the combat is super fun. The only problem I have with this remake is the horrible voice acting. I'm not saying the voice actors are bad, but the voice direction on this game is just so horrible. Every character sound so emotionless and it completely ruins the energy the PSP version had. I can't take this game seriously when the voice acting is laughably dull. Also, there's parts where some of the in-game animations look so lame. I wish they did a bit more with some of the in-game cutscenes besides just using their stock animations.

On a better note, i love how Angeal pretty much TROLLS Zack 😅 who else thinks they should make a game where you play as Angeal, he deserves a backstory game, plus he's such a heartfelt character

you just have to know about final fantasy vii because that's part of it
It’s a prequel to FF7 but it’s the first in the FF7 timeline so you don’t need anything else to understand it. So yes you can dive in. Then I would play ff7 remake which is a sequel to this game. All the mainline numbered FFs are different and have nothing to do with each other. Except instances like this, where there are spin offs of the numbered titles like 7 crisis core, or direct sequels like FF10-2 and FF13-2. Basically you can go in blind if you want.
I like this game a lot, but every time Genesis pops up on screen he just drags the entire experience down with him 😡

@@MrInuhanyou123You can’t really claim nostalgia bias when the entire cast was replaced and the only one to really see major backlash is Zacks of the new VA.
Which isn’t to say he is a bad VA but it was a poor casting choice and direction to have him play Zack.
He just doesn’t have the same energy during a delivery or tone that suits the character.

People often prefer Zack to Cloud when it comes to Aerith, but they forget or don't see the big picture....if Zack dies, Cloud is the most ideal second partner she could ever have. He is not only, by virtue, Zack's legacy...he is unintentionally his reincarnation as well. Through a dark series of terrible events, he carries Zack's entire identity within him. On top of it all, he has his own immaculate and loving experiences with Aerith. Despite her warnings and devotion to her heritage and the planet, she loves him, and he grows to love her. He has feelings for Tifa as well, nd that is its own seperate parallel story, but that is how it goes sometimes. People love, they lose, they remember, but they can love again, and they can be conflicted. Cloud grows into himself and mends the damage and mental trauma done to him, so he has a different identity and experience with Aerith than Zack does, but...Cloud is Zack living on, in a way, much like Zack carries on Angeal's legacy.
I mean. I like Aerith but man Tifa is just always a better choice
First of all Cloud belongs with Tifa and second he's really not much of a true hero like Zack was. Besides ever since he was killed Cloud was trying to act like someone he's not and his mako fractured mind was only making it worse.
