I’ve used PB before last winter on my winter truck, still sticking surprisingly. I’ve been driving my civic here in the Midwest currently as we have literally no winter this year. I had no idea the bolt pattern is similar on older civics going to have to keep my eye out for some rims.
Thanks for the tip ended up picking up some used 2013 si factory rims with 215/45/17 blizzaks for $350 off Craigslist. Ideally would like 215/50/17s but for the $ I can’t complain
Did you put tire pressure sensors in them? I am looking to get a set from tire rack, and I guess I don’t need sensors they say. I have a 2024 Sport Hatchback.
Hondas have not needed sensors in the wheels for over a decade now. The car monitors the wheel speeds using the abs sensors. If one wheel spins at a different speed for a certain amount of time than the others the light goes off
@@NAUS2K Ok… Thank you for the insight! Your way of thinking and analyzing things in a good common sense way, feels like the way I’ll at things! I do a lot of prep for winter on my vehicles, and love winter wheels and tires for vehicles!
Wow! Love those bronze wheels. I'm not a fan of black wheels. I picked up a 2024 Meteorite Gray Civic Sport sedan last month and dumped the factory 18" black wheels for 16" gunmetal wheels.
the rims look so much better than the stock rims. I am thinking of getting a new civic. The color of your car is what I like but I want the LX because of tire size and the LX doesn't come in that color. I like a taller sidewall for comfort. I live in New England and always have been a big believer in dedicated snow tires. Just last winter I decided to try out "All Weather" tires with the 3 peak mountain snowflake designation. I have such tires to be very good in the snow on frontwheel drive cars and they don't require storing extra rims and swapping them out.
The wheels look good. I plan on roughing it out the rest of this winter and buy some wheels by next fall. if it snows bad I’m going to use my wife’s edge awd. Only thing I don’t like about the car is how poorly the stock tires perform in the snow. I was worried about different size wheels and tires affecting the transmission, could that be a problem?
Does the 8mm offset change the steering feel? I heard that putting spacers might make the steering feel number and the steering going back to center slower or completely gone.
No different in steering feel due to wheel offset.the change was minimal in relation to the overall width. Though I can feel the lag now in the cars response due to the tires side compound , tall tread depth, and soft sidewalls

Those bronze wheels look really nice with the body color. I can understand why you are a little conflicted. Cheers!
Major props for living through the NY winters. Just couldn't do it...
Luckily I’m more downstate now for the last 7 years or so. I use to live up in Syracuse and man that was snow central!
Hoping this is the year I get my hands on a 2023 sport hatchback! Might have to copy you 😋
I knew those wheels looked familiar lol,the good ol 8th gen days haha

16” two sizes down . How’s the handling ?
@hondaralph4081 Definitely not as tight handling or grippy as the factory tires or bigger wheels. But still feels great and smoother and quieter.

Looks really good.
What's your tire size ?
I go over this in the video
One thing is for sure, the stock setup is a nightmare in snow😂
Where did you get the painted duckbill spoiler??!!!! :)
I’ve got an install and review video on it on my channel. It’s an oem Honda part from Europe. Links for it are in the install video
@NAUS2K what's the site? Or am I literally ordering it from UK honda?

No as long as both front tires match each other you can do whatever you want with sizing.
I don't like black rims because no matter how clean the tires are they always look dirty next to the rims.
Good to know
Does that mean I can sell my forester and finally take the plunge on a type r if I run blizzacks in the winter?
Absolutely! Lots of people running type Rs in the winter like Tedward and The Topher !

@@NAUS2K oh that's right, deeper threads cause tire to be more mushy.
Where did you buy the under coded or rust proved ? Can you give the name of the products please Thanks
It’s called blaster surface shield, I got it at harbor freight but you can get it online too
Thank you very much
