- In this video I FINALLY rebuild my 2007 Kawasaki KX250 twos stroke from scratch! This is the main dirt bike project that I had been working on and I build the bike from the frame up. I had thought I lost the memory card which had this footage but my wife ended up finding it. So stoked to bring this video to you guys. ALSO watch until the end because there is a giveaway that I will be announcing the winner for on February 1st!!

If I’m being completely honest, That Kawasaki green frame is my favorite thing about the bike😍 It makes it look like a beast and really makes the bike come together. Bike has a lot of character my guy, something that is rare too see🤘🏼🔥.
I'm so pumped how that color came out! It really sets the bike apart for sure!
Ive got an '03 frame stripped now, having a hard time deciding between the KX green and Nardo grey.
I can’t choose one 😂. Titanium Pegs, Lectron, pro circuit pipe, and the Carbon Ti-2 Silencer. Such a rad bike! 🤟🏼
Thanks man! Allll great selections haha
I’d have to say all the Kawasaki green. Love the frame color! A lot of Kawi builds nowadays are done in black. This green is killer! Nice job 👍🏻 🟢🟩✅
Thanks Mike! Exactly what I was going for. I feel in love with the Monster Cup Kawasaki bikes a couple years ago and used that as my vision for this Chevy Trucks bike.
I’m new to Kawi colors. I’m about to do up a 99 250. Is the “Kawi green” different from the flo green you did on the Splitfire build?
This Green! and subbed because of the honesty and not showing only the kick when it started! love it!
Thanks I appreciate that Devin! You can do a lot of editing but that was as real as it gets haha
You are the man! I’m rebuilding a 2003 kx250 and your videos are so valuable to me. I’m learning a lot. Thanks
Heck yeah brother! Glad you can find value in them my man, I've started my 99 KX250 build as well on the channel!
My favorite part is definitely the PC works pipe with the carbon TI 2 shorty! Definitely makes the bike sound better, and I’m sure it’s a better running bike with them together.
Hell yeah Kaden, that PC pipe is definitely the highlight of the bike for me, love it!
@@GregHitchko those guys over at Pro circuit do a phenomenal job on their pipes, I love the one on my Yz450, but the two stoke pipes are in a different league of cool.
I like the color choice on the hubs and shock spring!
Thanks! I agree with you, those are actually the stock hub color. They were in good enough shape to use them still!
Man I love the whole bike! I really do just have a soft spot for those Chevy graphics, but I also love how all the green ties together!
Side note, Your kx250 build has been an inspiration for my 05 kx125 build and I really could use those bars for my 125!
Hell yeah Jonas! I definitely have a soft spot for the Chevy Trucks graphics as well. That's so rad about your kx125 build, you will have to share pictures with me when you are done!
@@GregHitchko thanks Greg! I’ll be sure to send some to you on your Instagram once I finish it!!
@@jonasbarstad9263 right on, sounds good!
That graffix brings back a bunch of good memories 💯🔥🔥🔥
Sureeee does!
When I looked at the bike I got a chill up my spine. It's beautiful 💚
That's awesome, thanks Owen!
Excellent build and video
Thank you Jonathan!!
I literally just discovered you and was wondering where your other build videos would be at, I’m so glad you were able to get that card so we can see this
Right on man! Click on my name to go to my channel and the rest of the build videos can be found there!
I really enjoyed watching this build, great work man👍🏼
Thanks my dude! Stay tuned for more to come.
Best part of this build is hands down the lectron carb matched with the works edition pipe. Oh and I can’t forget the carbon silencer :)
Haha you literally hit ALLL of my favorite parts!
That is a SWEET Bike. Well Done!!
Thank you Jay!
Very nice build live them two strokes
Thanks Shawn ✊🏼
Best part about the bike is that your wife bought you the foot pegs for it, also like the perimeter frame Kawi's.
Thanks Rob! I was stoked when she surprised me with them, they are badass 🔥!
I like the graphics kit the best . Very nice
Gotta love those Chevy Trucks Graphics!
Love the build, all it needed is some excel wheels and renthal chain and sprockets for my 💯 liking. But good job!
Thanks dude! I hear you, those are ideal but I’m also cheap and wanted to spend on other spots 🤣. Cheers!
AMAZING bike!!!
Thank you Kent!
Awesomely looking kx mate
Thank you thank you! Much appreciated
Awesome job, looks great 👍
Thank you! Cheers David!
Everything looks sick. Now, get new carburetor hoses please.
Haha the little things
Sweeeeeeeeeeeetttttt man beautiful work 👍👍👍👍
Thanks my man!!
Bro i love it!!!!😍😍😍
I'm working on restoring mine except it has Grey frame and black plastics I just ordered the same graphics as yours I hope it goes good with the black plastics
frame guards would be nice to have other than that very nice looking kawi
That moment when the frame fell off the bench🤣 everyone can fell that pain haha
Haha it was like a knife through my heart! But what can ya do, luckily it didn't do that much damage
sweet build man
Thank you Don!
That bike is gorgeous
Thanks my man!!
Good stuff bro.
Thanks Ron much appreciated!!
Oh its yours Haha just watched the first 1 . Awesome turn around on this . I commented on another vid , looks gorgeous mate
Haha that’s hilarious, thanks Danny!
@@GregHitchko haha yeah just been watching sum others . Just watched the track day vid .. il sub your channel mate keep em coming 😉
Hard to beat the carbon ti-2 pro circuit silencer
You can say that again dude, it was my favorite part that I got for the bike along with the Pro Circuit Link arm!
Most beautiful dirt bike I've seen! Pity about the blasphemy near the end though:(
Haha thanks my man!
Gooood jooob 👌👍😃
Thanks my man!
I'll send you pics on Instagram when I get the 04 done man
Hell yeahh, definitely do! Can't wait to see it.
dude same thing happened to me when trying to put the engine in almost lost my shit and wanted to smash the frame across room... fresh powder coated too... I get the frustration lol
Haha ughhhh thanks for bringing me back to that moment. The rage, the anger, the sadness, everything all boiled up into one dumb move.
Where did you find the tourqe specs for every bolt?
It's sweet! what a fcking build mate! Great job!
Thanks mate, much appreciated!
@@GregHitchko you thinking about doing any YZ or CR?
@@JoaoSilva-gs5jb I am in process right now! Go and visit my channel as I have a YZ, CR and RM that I am working on right now for a huge Throwback Two Stroke Garage Build Shootout project that I am doing!
1:08 to 1:20 hahaha (yes, a cringeworthy moment,... but the coffee made it funny)
(let it go....just,.....let it go) Sippppp,....Sippppp
HAHAH gooood times right there my dude. Nothing that a strong up of coffee can't fix haha
It’s like a new helmet. You have to drop it once before using it the first time.
Haha right? It was tough to swallow thats for sure, but all good!
Just found your channel and this video was amazing lmao , did the same thing with the rm85L I built and the day I was going to sell it I had it on the standing taking pics and the bike fell over and snapped a lever , glad that was it but holy fuck was I mad as all hell
Haha dudeee I feel your pain man. Tough to see that stuff happen and its crazy how furious we can get 🤣
what modifications did you have to make in order to use the restyle front fender and number board?
The front fender actually mounted right up no problem! But the front number plate is a Cycra Stadium Plate. The top bolt is able to screw in but the bottom hooks don't line up. BUT since the Stadium plate has the zip ties that go around the front forks, the plate sits securely on there and doesn't go anywhere.
Nice video, I see you used the shortening link in the rear end and I see that you have switched to 2013 kx250f forks. I have an 06 with the link and I also have 2012 kx250f forks. Did you internally limit the stroke of the fork to shorten them? I ask because I see the forks are pushed down all the way in the clamps and the showa's are somewhere around 10-20mm taller. When I ran the fork up as high as you have them it had no traction on the front end. I could go measure mine but I know I started with my forks up so the fork was the same height as the KYB's that came stock. Then I adjusted from there for corner feel and I also messed with the preload a good bit for ballance. What offset are the 2013 forks? I ran 22mm offsets for a bit and was much better turning. Then I actually did something pretty extreme and I raked the steering head angle by half a degree. In 2004 it was 27deg. in 2005 they increased it to 26 and it made it very twitchy. Rumors are that James stewart's triple clamps where made so they raked the front end out half a degree. I had a expert welder friend of mine cut the steering head off and pull the bottom out 3mm which puts it at 26.5 deg. This along with the showa front forks was the best mod I have done to the bike. Its a completely different bike in the corners. If you want some tips on bike set up let me know. I have a book somewhere where I took notes when I was doing all this which was around 6 years ago. Just comment a way to get ahold of you if you want.
Thanks man! I actually have the forks running at 5mm from the top of the clamp! I haven't had any issues with front end traction but now that you mention you have, I may mess with the heights a little more to test some things out! I am just putting out a video today on the KX250 differences so that funny you mention the head angle here. They say the 2004 isn't as twitchy because the angle isnt so steep. The clamps I am running are stock from a 2013 KX250F which are 22.5mm offset. The forks/22.5 triples/PC link make the bike handle MUCH better. Here is my email ghitchko@gmail.com. I'd love to review those settings!
Nice build! Did you have trouble mounting the new style front fender on the stock clamps? Beautiful bike and thank you!
Thank you sir! No trouble at all, it mounted right up without a problem
@@GregHitchko thank you for the reply! I want to mount one on my 2011 KX250F! You did a real nice job, it's beautiful!
@@Efemedio1 Right on! Yeah man it shouldn't be a problem what so ever. I appreciate the kind words very much!
Hey there, I‘m currently disassembling my kx250 2006 and I was wondering what the sensors on the original carb are for, and if they are necessary. Because from what I‘ve seen, the aftermarket carbs don‘t have that.
Thanks for reaching out! The green coupler is the throttle position sensor. If you happen to get a Lectron Carb for it, you wont need this anymore and you just tape up the coupler that connects to the wiring harness so no dirt gets in there.
@@GregHitchko thanks a lot!
Hey man great build. Where did you find your bottom end parts? Did you have to have your crank rebuilt or were you able to find a replacement one? Also where did you have your cylinder replated or sleeved? Sorry for all the questions I have the same year and it's gonna need a rebuild eventually.
Bottom end parts are OEM and I bought all of them from Rocky mountain! The Crank I set out to be rebuilt by Millenium Technologies for like $215 bucks, and then I had the cylinder honed and vapor blasted at a shop called Proven moto in heber utah!
@@GregHitchko Awesome thanks for the reply. Good to know, I was figuring that I was going to have to send some stuff out.
@@kf6058 No doubt man! Good luck with the whole process keep me posted
Hey sir this thing is sweet. Had some questions about it. I have a 05 what year are your new forks and did you have to change your triple clamp s? Thanks man
Thanks Daniel! So yup, if you upgrade the forks you will have to get whatever year triple clamps that fit that bike, some are 48mm and some are 47mm based on what year forks you get! You will also need to get the trick engineering steering stop for the frame in order for the new triples to work.
@@GregHitchko okay thank you very much. Do you know much about what years of shocks that would fit the bike also?
@@danielrodgers5117 I am not as familiar with the shock to be honest. But from what I've read, as long as you get a revalve for the type of riding you do and make sure it's sprung correctly for your weight, you should be golden.
Where can I get those graphics? I have an 01 kx250 and looking for them
Hell yeah! Make it happen dude! Hit up www.melodesignco.com and email Tyler. Let him know you saw my graphics and he will make it happen!
Excellent video!
Can you do a video with instructions each step without music?
Head over to the channel to view more of my videos! I have dirt bike builds on other 2 strokes as well that are pretty much the same as this my man. But there is music, the volume is lower than this though. cheers!
@@GregHitchko Thanks Mr.Hitchko!
This the same process in the 02 kx250s?
Not 100% but very similar!!!
Por circuit pipe ..I'm happy 2. I just restore my Kawasaki kx250 1993
CHEVY TRUCKS GRAPHICS look good
You know what's up Tom!!!
Sic bike
Thanks man, really appreciate that!
When can bring my bike to you all it needs is a new motor
Damn I wish I could do it for you!
@@GregHitchko where are you located?
@@98offroad7 Utah!
What fork guards you running
The fork guards actually fit from the 07 KX250 forks on the 2018 KX250F forks.
I wonder if those same fork guards will fit on the 2003 model
@@CP556 great question! I am not positive because the 03 has the plastic piece that goes around the fork tube right? But as along as the bolt holes line up, should work. You might need to grab the pieces for the fork guard that clamp the front brake cable down too.
Body kit plastike year?
Everything is oem look, except for the front fender and Cycra front number plate from a 2018 KX250F
just curious how much $$$ you have in this build? I just picked up a 03 that needs a lot of love.
Hey Trevor, that's awesome! including the bike and all parts, aside from the new updated forks, i was in it for about $6,500. I have another video on the channel where I break down all of the costs, you should check it out!
@@GregHitchko Cool Ill check it out. I was figuring around that price range.
That’s funny I have a built 2097 kx250 as well but my number is 227 not 228
That’s rad my dude haha
It just happen to me jaja
Beautiful bike...minus the Chevy logo...
Haha its the iconic look however!
Make some riding vids already.
Haha check the channel for a couple videos I have out at Warner Valley!
Подари мотоцикл
