This story is disturbing. Kid hacked up his parents and when all the facts lay in front of him in court he asks not to be present during his trial. Im glad the judge denied those requests and forced him to face reality.
This was such a tragedy. I can’t imagine how he could do this to parents that loved and supported him all his life. They could have worked it all out eventually if he had just come clean with his lies and not murdered them.
The trial for this case was the best well done cases i have ever seen by the prosecutors. The investigative skills were extraordinary. They even had video taken from a neighbor’s camera of the fireplace burning all through the night as he tried burning the bodies.
Yes! And it’s the default setting to be tracked unless you change it. It will send you an alert that you’re being tracked if you have notifications on but if they just zoom in on the map it won’t alert you.
The mystery has been solved, it was figured out dude was lying and was responsible for more than just his parents' disappearance within the first couple weeks, really, what's left for ²⁰/20 (or anyone else) to; "investigate"?!? I mean, of course it's a compelling story, I'm just sayin'...
I really don't get why they're calling it the snapchat clue. I love 48hrs, I have watched 100s of episodes but here I'm really disappointed in them. Especially when I had followed this case from the beginning and watched the full trial. This case was something I hoped someone would do a documentary on because it had so many layers to it. Everyone that encountered Chandler had their lives turned upside down. Not to even mention he killed his parents, chopped them up and put their heads in the home fireplace then hid the rest of their remains around Wisconsin. Which brings me to correct what she said about how the case cracked. The day after Chandler filed a missing person report on his parents, while following up on Chandler's alibi police went to speak with his girlfriend's family. They confirmed he was there at there farm on the 4th of july, but also told the Detectives he came back the next day and at one point they couldn't find him on the farm. They said they saw him later coming out of the woods. When the Detectives went to look in the woods, they found his father's torso. They had Chandler come to the police station, after about 2hrs he was arrested. The snapchat info that his girlfriend had, that was about a week later. That was the area where they found his mother's legs. Sorry so long, I just get frustrated when I hear people get the story wrong. Especially a news show I trust to get it right.
This case is very dark I followed the trial from beginning to end the judge the lawyers handled this case so professionally

Evil.
Evil
But also they could have used cellphone pings to place him in the area ...
Can you track someone through Snapchat? 👀
Apparently...
Yes, unless they’re on ghost mode👀

Why does CBS Mornings always give away the entire show when they roll out a new 48 hours mystery???? I have to mute the TV every time. Stop!
Isthisthechandler guy ? Case ? Ok yes!! Most interesting
I wonder Reeeaaallly wonder about deeper details. Thanks for posting this
This one had a "Meet the Parents" aspect like no other. The bf took his own ones over with him to it, dismembered.
