A Wisconsin man stands trial for allegedly murdering and dismembering his parents without remorse, and providing false information on their disappearances. Chandler Michael Halderson, 23, faces charges including first-degree intentional homicide. Remains from his father Bart Halderson, 50, and mother Krista Halderson, 53, were found days apart, authorities said.
Defendant Halderson reported his parents missing July 7th, claiming they left their home in the Village of Windsor days before on the 1st. He told WISC-TV at the time that they were going to the village of White Lake, Wisconsin.
“My last message I got from them, they were going to White Lake for the Fourth of July,” he told “There are some festivities that go around there. Better drink prices at the bars. Stuff like that.”
He said that to his knowledge, they were then going to their cabin in Langlade County.
“Along the way, they could’ve stopped many places,” he said. “I wouldn’t know all of them.”
He was allegedly just feeding everyone lies.
Bart’s torso was found in rural Dane County, while remains from Krista were found in Sauk County and property run by the Department of Natural Resources, according to court documents obtained by The Wisconsin State Journal.
Their son had been searching Google for terms like “Body found Wisconsin,” “Woman’s body found in Wisconsin,” “Wisconsin dismembered body found,” and “Dead body found in Wisconsin,” authorities said. Investigators suggested Chandler Halderson used to a visit to property belonging to the partner of his girlfriend’s mother as cover to hide his father’s torso nearby. He had shot Bart Halderson at least once before dismembering him, officials said.
According to investigators, Halderson said after his arrest that “you don’t know the whole story,” and that he “didn’t feel bad about what I did.”

This judge emanates kindness, truthfulness, fairness, unbiased, respect for everyone in the courtroom, and I really enjoyed watching such a good person do their job in the way they intended to when they decided to take this oath. Judges have a certain absolute power and he did not use his power as a trip. He did his job so unbiased and so kind that it actually made the horrific trial a smidge easier to watch here and there. Can’t say the verdict is surprising with so much evidence and proof of how everything happened. The only thing that’s surprising to me is the crime. The whole entirety of it. We all have our faults and nobody’s parents are perfect. Whatever happened in that house that lead to the gruesomeness of that crime will only be known by Chandler’s parents and himself. His lawyers tried to get a plea deal but the state knew they had a monumental amount of evidence and were going to go with first degree intentional homicide. They weren't willing to negotiate. As they well shouldn't. So the Wisconsin taxpayers get screwed with having to go through this lengthy trial. If Wisconsin had the death penalty they might have allowed him to plead down to life imprisonment w/o parole but it doesn't. That is what happened with Chris Watts. He pled guilty and got life in prison instead of the death penalty. With this one the state wasn't going to give an inch because they knew they had him. Great job by the state.

It’s just so sad, all he would have had to do is sit down with his parents and come clean. Say something like “I was lying because I didn’t want to disappoint you”. Go get himself the first job he could find.
By this point, two years later it would have all blown over and no one would have known about the situation other than his parents and girlfriend. Most likely the parents would have put him through school and made sure he really went. Having parents angry for a month, seems like a better plan than shooting, dismembering, burning and disposing of and being a evil villain to the whole world, rotting in prison for the rest of yr life.

His lawyers probably begged him to plead guilty, knowing a trial would be futile, but Chandler Halderson is a liar, narcissist and psychopath who will never take responsibility for his actions.
