Date of crime: Est. between July 1 and July 8, 2021
A Wisconsin man stands trial for allegedly murdering and dismembering his parents without remorse, and providing false information on their disappearances. Chandler Michael Halderson, 23, faces charges including first-degree intentional homicide. Remains from his father Bart Halderson, 50, and mother Krista Halderson, 53, were found days apart, authorities said.
Defendant Halderson reported his parents missing July 7th, claiming they left their home in the Village of Windsor days before on the 1st. He told WISC-TV at the time that they were going to the village of White Lake, Wisconsin.
“My last message I got from them, they were going to White Lake for the Fourth of July,” he told “There are some festivities that go around there. Better drink prices at the bars. Stuff like that.”
He said that to his knowledge, they were then going to their cabin in Langlade County.
“Along the way, they could’ve stopped many places,” he said. “I wouldn’t know all of them.”
He was allegedly just feeding everyone lies.
Bart’s torso was found in rural Dane County, while remains from Krista were found in Sauk County and property run by the Department of Natural Resources, according to court documents obtained by The Wisconsin State Journal.
Their son had been searching Google for terms like “Body found Wisconsin,” “Woman’s body found in Wisconsin,” “Wisconsin dismembered body found,” and “Dead body found in Wisconsin,” authorities said. Investigators suggested Chandler Halderson used to a visit to property belonging to the partner of his girlfriend’s mother as cover to hide his father’s torso nearby. He had shot Bart Halderson at least once before dismembering him, officials said.
According to investigators, Halderson said after his arrest that “you don’t know the whole story,” and that he “didn’t feel bad about what I did.”

Cherbear59 Psychopaths don’t believe there is any situation they cannot con or lie their way out of. They believe they are smarter than everyone else on the planet. They are incapable of the type of reasoning and intelligence others have as they do not have that capability. They exist to survive off of others. I am so very sad for his Mom who clearly loved him and I think knew there was something very different about Chandler and that made her all the more protective. It appears his Dad had his number and Mom was the protector. I think his Father could have accepted his son as a lazy human being but he simply could not accept being conned by his own son.

For some reason, the cellular expert testimony had upset me more than some of the other testimony and evidence I’ve heard. I think it’s because I saw “Krista” moving towards her home and I felt like shouting, “No, Krista! Don’t go home!!” I felt so sick seeing Chandler driving around, dumping his parents’ body parts all over the countryside. You know there are still body parts out there that the police have been unable to locate but they know for sure where he dumped them. I feel for their family and friends. Just devastating.

    • @Leonicles
      @Leonicles 2 года назад +8

@Lourdes G When I was in school to become a social worker, about half of our courses were in psychology. We learned that everything about a person comes from: Biology & Psychology ("nature") + Social (nurture or environment). It is different for each person how much their environment vs. genetics affects their behavior. You may have been born with higher levels of psychopothy, but these genes may not be "turned on" if they have a nurturing environment. With good parents, perhaps they grow up to be a surgeon or CEO instead of a serial killer. The opposite is also true (terrible childhood, but displays deep levels of empathy regardless). The theory is that "biology (nature) is the gun, but the environment (nurture or trauma) pulls the trigger.
However, there are certain people who are just...completely lacking in empathy, despite having a wonderful childhood, with no significant trauma. Sometimes, growing up thinking they are special and better than others is enough to pull that metaphorical trigger. His brother grew up the same way, and he doesn't seem evil, so Chazzy might just be...evil. This feels like a part of the answer. I would be FASCINATED to know what he was like as a child.

  • @KellyCeleste

Krista was so loving toward her son, which may have been her downfall. He presents as unloving and rude in his texts, let alone what he’s charged with. Demanding for her to pick up soda rather than asking for her to pick it up. . He never says “love you” to her. He never shows any warmth toward her, and she presents as so loving and caring toward him. She didn’t deserve this. Dear God. That poor lady. Ugh.

I think there must have been red flags throughout his childhood. Bart probably tried to point them out to Krista, but in true mother's fashion, all she could see was her little boy. Because if there not your doctor you don’t have to show them anything and in fact them asking you to show that stuffs breaks a law the hippa law I believe so should we search all their phones too? I know this is a murder case which is very serious but the law the law right? This world is so hypocritical of itself it would be amusing if it wasn’t so serious? People have a right to privacy for a reason do you really trust the government of any stage with all your information at the touch of a button? Yeah what could go wrong there I remember reading books on this crazy Austrian that took over Germany in 1933 he forced people into giving him their records on everything same thing happened in Russia before that so yeah what could go wrong with the government having everyone’s information at the touch of a button. To hear that Chandler read sites about a man who dismembered a family member's body ís *strongly* prejudicial.
I guess I would have expected defense to object to that, and have argued that these links and sites were tied to "the individual who accessed these sites using Chandler's phone". I mean...even if she was successful, it would be as useless as all her other objections that were sustained - but I wiuld have tried!

Either the defense is completely incompetent or they have a lot of aces up their sleeves. I’m curious to see…

I don't know about the father, but I'm guessing they are going to argue that since no cause of death for the mom can be determined, murder is an inappropriate charge.....
Even that is a long shot. I really don't see any other strategy.

@@my1vice I was thinking the same. But if that’s the case, they didn’t do a very good job of cross examination because they should have asked about what scientific evidence she had indicating that homicide was the manner of death. And they didn’t do that. They just left it kind of fluffy.

I agree, but there is also a possibility that they actually have no defense.

Defense attorneys had zero aces up their sleeves. They just wanted out of this case. A real dog of a case for defense lawyers.

Many times lawyers will tell defendants to do that to make jury think defendant is engaged.
