    Happening in Court:
Det Sabrina Sims - Dane County Sheriff's Ofc
Mary Sesto - Halderson Family Friend
Kevin Linsmeier - Halderson Family Neighbor (Childhood Friend of Bart Halderson)
    CHARGES:
    Victim Bart Halderson:
    COUNT 1: First-degree Intentional Homicide
COUNT 2: False Info on Kidnapped or Missing Persons
    COUNT 3: Mutilating a corpse
    COUNT 4: Hiding a Corpse
    Victim Krista Halderson:
    COUNT 5: First-degree Intentional Homicide

    COUNT 7: Mutilating a corpse
    COUNT 8: Hiding a Corpse
A Wisconsin man stands trial for allegedly murdering and dismembering his parents without remorse, and providing false information on their disappearances. Chandler Michael Halderson, 23, faces charges including first-degree intentional homicide. Remains from his father Bart Halderson, 50, and mother Krista Halderson, 53, were found days apart, authorities said.
Defendant Halderson reported his parents missing July 7th, claiming they left their home in the Village of Windsor days before on the 1st. He told WISC-TV at the time that they were going to the village of White Lake, Wisconsin.
“My last message I got from them, they were going to White Lake for the Fourth of July,” he told “There are some festivities that go around there. Better drink prices at the bars. Stuff like that.”
He said that to his knowledge, they were then going to their cabin in Langlade County.
“Along the way, they could’ve stopped many places,” he said. “I wouldn’t know all of them.”
He was allegedly just feeding everyone lies.
Bart’s torso was found in rural Dane County, while remains from Krista were found in Sauk County and property run by the Department of Natural Resources, according to court documents obtained by The Wisconsin State Journal.
Their son had been searching Google for terms like “Body found Wisconsin,” “Woman’s body found in Wisconsin,” “Wisconsin dismembered body found,” and “Dead body found in Wisconsin,” authorities said. Investigators suggested Chandler Halderson used to a visit to property belonging to the partner of his girlfriend’s mother as cover to hide his father’s torso nearby. He had shot Bart Halderson at least once before dismembering him, officials said.
According to investigators, Halderson said after his arrest that “you don’t know the whole story,” and that he “didn’t feel bad about what I did.”

I think it's interesting that everyone spoke so well of Bart and Krista and in fact the only one who couldn't find a kind word to say about Bart was our boy Chandler. He paints his father as being a hothead that everyone has to walk softly around because he gets in a foul mood and won't speak to anyone and you just have to stay away from him until he gets over whatever is bothering him. I never heard anyone else say Bart was that kind of person and it's really sad that only his son seems determined to make everyone think the very worst of his father. I guess Bart really ticked him off by calling the school and proving his lies!

I couldn’t believe Chandler’s response to the detective saying I’m sorry about what’s going on. Chandler replies something to the effect of-is what it is. I would be a crumpled heap on the floor in tears and when not crying, I’d be going 24/7 doing everything I possibly could to help. Krista and Bart seemed like great people, very good parents. Chandler hurt so many people with his selfish act but as long as he didn’t have to own up to no job, no school, that’s all that mattered to him.

I can understand a person lying defensively (ie if you tell the truth it will cause you to be in trouble) BUT This was a lie to impress. My friend split up with him--good. I guess the person you were dating was afraid you would look him up, so he didn't give real name? When I was young, that wasn't possible. Life was simpler back then but unless you hired a Private Detective or knew the cops it was hard to know anything about anyone. How did you find out he was lying?

Why fess up and risk exile or having to work when they could roll the dice and possibly come out hundreds of thousands of dollars richer? I recently read a qoute from a homicide detective who was questioned on why he thinks people believe they can get away with murder. He said that they're all arrogant and think they can beat the odds and get away with it.

The evidence is overwhelming, there’s literally NO defense, and he just looks like more of a monster with every bit of information, testimony, & evidence. The fact that he’s putting everyone through this with literally NO benefit just shows him as even more of a monster.

We all know how strapped Chandler was for cash because he seemed too lazy to work and one of these videos includes a place where Chandler asked Cat for five dollars so he could get something to eat and drink. If he's begging his girlfriend for five bucks, four thousand dollars must have seemed like a HUGE amount to him and I don't think he would hesitate to steal it out of his father's safe. I think his actions were premeditated; He'd been stewing for quite some time also there might of been some sibling rivalry as his brother was more successful & independent in his pursuits compared to his lifestyle as a dupe .Garnering sympathy from anyone or any situation until his parents finally caught on . I wouldn't be surprised if he threw himself down the stairs as a way to manipulate his failed attempts of control when he was clearly out of control. It's a good thing Mitchell wasn't living there or he too might have been a victim ! This situation is so sad💔

Or he just hoped that they wouldn't find the bodies and he'd get a payout and could continue to live without working. Good information from these witnesses. Classic cop interview haha. Acts like its the end of the conversation then pulls ‘em back with another question. 😆

Bro the retired cop was just like "hey still got it" in the sense that he literally interrogated Chandler around the 1:00:49 mark 😂
But withvthat said this case is absolutely horrible!

He literally lived in his house WITH his parents he murdered, then cut them up, and attempted to burn their Bodies. Wow, how evil, He must have no conscious at all. 🙈 A pure demonic act, how could he not feel his parents presence around him after such a horrific act on them? Wow , truly a sickening case. This one is up there for me with the child starvation trials of Tiffany Moss , and the little 2 years old girl as well who was starved to death. 💔

Even when the words Chandler uses are normal, his tone of voice is so unsettling, life-less.
If I answered the door and somebody talked to me in that tone, I would Instantly feel like he was hiding something. It's a very strange tone.

I don’t get the comment on the roaming charges either, there’s a setting in your phone to do that for you. It’s called airplane mode!

    • @roastedpepper
      @roastedpepper Год назад

That’s what he means. He’s using that as an excuse as to why his parents phone weren’t reachable. Because airplane mode or turned off, calls would still go straight to VM.

The defense is too lazy to stand up for cross examination. Obviously they knew they were just going through the motions.
