I like how part 1 are the common all purpose variants, part 2 are all the specialised units meant for specific or extreme situations, and then part 3 and later are just the empire having a bit of fun making new toys

A lot of these troopers were requisitioned by individual governors and moffs. Many of the troopers with the same purpose were probably created for different sectors with different budgets and resources.

You forgot the toilet stormtrooper, also known as the toilet trooper, commonly equipped with the S.hi.T Plumber system, these stormtroopers sealed with toilet clogs on both Death Stars as to not upset the space stations septic tanks. These troopers commonly wore normal stormtrooper armor just with their lower backs revealed.
Aqua-clone: has air tanks that allow for taking O2 out of water, infinite breathing

The Imperial Military Budget must have been a nightmare, there's so many units that have very limited and specific uses that all are incredibly expensive to train and equip.
Having a trillion different legions must of been expensive
But again we're talking about an empire of a much larger scale, to control an entire galaxy at that. I'm sure the fundings are more than enough to maintain these units.

I do too they are still annoying when I remember anything about them I would usually get knocked off the edge of the cloud city levels.
You didn’t fight jumptroopers in SWTFU you threw one at another one and chuckled to yourself.
You never fought Jumptroopers, you used force grip to pick them up, deactivate their jetpacks, and drop them off a cliff.
logically, wouldnt a flamethrower be a really poor weapon to use on a lava planet, since the enemy already has heat to deal with and thus would already have prepared defenses against such threats? Something like an electric or ion weapon would work better to disable enemy life support and leave them to die from toxic fumes and heat.
yeah, they have protection from the basic heat, but another heat source would overheat thier systems and disable electronics, as well as boil the enemy
but it would work better in any other condition whatsoever.
Besides of which, a flamethrower wouldnt reach temperatures nearly as high as lava.
It would still be able to kill them, maybe, but it would be a far inferior choice of weapon to virtually anything else.

Think about it, not only do enemies have to watch their step around lava and hot gas pockets, they also have to look out for magma trooper's flamethrower. I think it also increases the fear factor, might even instilling pyrophobia. The only logical reason :D

YOU MISSED out the chef trooper. they specialised in cooking food for the galactic empire. they where usually equipped with e221 rolling pin and c.u.N.t - barbecue tongues . these special troopers had a special salt and pepper shaker unit that ran on uranium and kyber crystals as to give each trooper precise movement and auto feed of salt and pepper. precise placement of each granule of salt was a must in the empire also if a jedi got to good they could pull out the pepper unit and give the jedi a dusting in the eye. a very sneaky trick of the chef trooper. they wore black and white check amour pants and a big tall helmet with a buffon top. like a chef. but was also a hiding place the trooper could jump into if the fighting got to heavy. then the helmet had a cloaking device so nobody could ever see them in the field. many a trooper went hungry. U BUFFOON...its a film ip ....

Let me explain some of the redundancies.
Sniper troopers and storm snipers had different jobs. Sniper troopers were more likely to provide extremely accurate shots in ideal conditions, such as in assassinations and the elimination of high-value targets. Storm snipers, on the other hand, fought while in the heat of battle, supporting infantry.
The Dark Troopers were experimental. There were so many variants, but few were put into service, and none were used large-scale.
Shadow Scouts, Shadow troopers, shadow stormtroopers, they were both few in number and had slightly different jobs and equipment for different tasks, but worked closely together. Kinda like the relationship between Marine Force RECON and Marine Division RECON. They work and train closely together, but often have slightly different jobs. Reply to me any other redundancies and I'll do my best to explain them.

With all these unique, specialized and "all-elite" troopers the empire spended likely more time on changing the units when the terrain changes then to make them modular and give them a quick resupply on what parts would be needed in that terrain.
The amount of times he had to say "not to be confused with" makes me happy that most of this were made non canon.
It makes me so infuriated with Disney.

One thing to know about the empire is that they’re very organized.
Some of these would actually be really scary if you were facing against them, even if you had Jedi abilities. If they were present during Endor, Scarif, Hoth, etc. the rebels would've definitely lost

So now that you guys have seen all of the different types of Stormtroopers, which ones are your favorite and your least favorite? My favorite ones are the Nova Troopers, Shock Troopers, and Scout Commandos. My least favorite ones are the Hazard Troopers and the Crowd Control troopers.
+Fact Free Imperial Storm Commandos,Nova Troopers,and Royal Guard/Royal Guard Stormtroopers are my favorite. I don't like Phase 0 Dark troopers, and Zero G troopers.

Stormtroopers already could aim. They kept missing Luke and the rebels in A New Hope because they were ordered to so the empire could track the Millennium Falcon to the rebel base.

After watching The Mandalorian S2E4 I had such a huge feeling that there were Dark Troopers lined up along the wall in the final scene, and I remembered this video and I feel, without a doubt, we are about to see some live-action shadow troopers!
Edit: I initially guessed that they were Shadow Troopers, judging by their appearance, but it's confirmed that they're Dark Troopers now so I edited the comment accordingly

I feel like over half of these contradict each other, like most of these were just created in whatever book or comic for the hell of it without thinking of the other 90 versions of the same Stormtrooper.
I just think of it as the empire had to many lower graded versions and said, "to hell with it we aren't gonna recall all these idiots for more expensive stuff. Hey I got it why don't we just make them feel special by making them specific class names even though there are others who out match them."
I think a bunch were just enemy variants in games too

Unlike our planet’s military, we fight over one planet, while the Empire fights over thousands, each with completely different climates from one another. That’s why there are so many that seem redundant to us, but not to them.

ok the use of flamethrowers by magma troopers on magma planets seems stupid to me, because I would imagine any opposition on such planets would double up on thermal protection.
Come to think of it, what if they were meant to breach into hostile structures and use said flame throwers indoors? Naturally the more climate-controlled interior would have a harder time dealing with intense heat, frying various systems and asphyxiating personel. As for fire suppressant systems, maybe these flamethrowers operate like napalm, having a gel stick to the surface and keep burning. Of course, they would also probably have regular blasters or something, idk...

You forgot the AT-AT stormtroopers. They were elite AT-AT heavy walker drivers. They wore the same like armor as the TIE fighter driver and included a snowstorm protection and had a breathing apparatus. They wore a helmet that were copied from the original stormtroopers.

Just wanted to correct something, at the start of the video it says that stormtroopers are the most common soldiers of the galactic empire.
This is actually false according to the legends continuity. The most common soldiers of the galactic empire were imperial army troopers. Stormtroopers were an elite corps of their own and functioned similarly to WW1 German stormtroopers and to some extent modern U.S. Marines.
