I have used this tutorial to make a star that I have 3d printed and have used a similar method for making a heart that I am also going to 3d print. Thank you so so much!
You don't have to use the subdivision modifier. Try to go out of the edit mode to the object mode -> right click on the object and choose smooth surface. On some weaker PCs or u could apply the bevel modifier and look if the subdivision modifier works then. To apply a modifier click on the downwards arrow of the modifier and choose apply or press ctrl+A If this doesn't work and you really want a more rounded shape, you can stay in the edit mode and hover with your mouse over the areas where you want a smoother edge. Press ctrl+R blender will show you a line indicating where it would add a loop. Just hover your mouse in the direction where you want the loop and left click. You can add more loops in this step through scrolling with your mouse wheel. Scale the loop with pressing the S button if needed. Hope this was helpful. 😊
