Hey there Julia, you can imagine my delight when I found this video this morning. I am going to enjoy watching as you discover the joys of watercolour painting, and I am looking forward to YOUR journey. It is extremely helpful watching videos on water colouring, and there is a plethora of videos on YT at different levels of painting skills to guide you. I must say my favourite colours are sap green and permanent rose... they are gorgeous and are my favourites when I paint florals. You know how much I love the colour pink. 🩷 If I may make a suggestion, please... apply a good squirt of each colour onto your paint palette and allow it to dry completely before you use it. I find that if you use paint straight from the tube you are more likely to use more paint. Once the paints are dry spritz them with plenty of water, and then allow the brush to soak up all that gorgeous pigment. Julia, do you have any of your mother's artwork? It must be very special for you to use her brushes, and in a way by using them, a part of her is with you. 🩷 Enjoy the process, but more importantly... have fun! God's blessings, love and hugs. 🥰🎨🌺🩷
Hello My Friend! Thank you for your guidance - you know I can use all the help I get. I will go back and add more paint to my pallet. The set of Cotman's should be in soon and I'll do it all at one time. We are so busy right now - it's crazy. But I think about watercolouring all the time. I was planning video #3 in the shower this morning LOL! Take care of you, Lots of love!!
Thanks Moraine - I am really enjoying this! I was always so intimidated by watercolors and painting in general. But if you break it down into baby steps, I think it's manageable.
