- Liza Minnelli on Australian Television!
This is an excerpt from Liza's 1967 appearance on the Australian Nine Network's variety program, "Brian Henderson's Bandstand". "The Allen Brothers" (Peter Allen & Chris Bell) also join Liza. See the rest of my videos for more from this show.
She loves this song and it shows. She owns this song.
Cabaret is her Wizard of Oz.
So much feeling for someone only twenty or twenty-one. Hard to believe Liza could do better, but in ‘72 she did!
There's many who can sing, there are few who can perform while they do. I hope that one day, this incredible performer, will get the accolade she must surely deserve.
She did win an Oscar for her performance (including this song) in “Cabaret” a few years after this.
Larga vida a la Super Estrella..Liza Minnelli...muchas gracias por presentar este interesante video documental musical..saludos.
She makes this song so interesting in every note. I love her tux and short hair, too.
I didn't realize she was singing this song this far back... no one can sing this better
Liza was performing at Chequers nightclub in Sydney when this was filmed in 1967.Bandstand produced several specials featuring international performers from Chequers as a form of cross-promotion.
When Liza reaches out to her audience, literally with her arm, it never fails to move me.
Thanks you for sharing. Great to see her early live performances.
Not many people know that this song was written for Kaye Ballard. The songwriter and she were good friends in the mid 1950s when it was written. She actually gave him the the idea for the song. She sang it before anyone else on T.V. Year's passed and then he decided to use it for Cabaret.
50 years ago. Wow
Why won't Barbra sing this? Does anyone know if she ever recorded it?
Stunning ❤️
Thanks for uploading this! So nice spoken. I could relate to those feelings of hope 💖
The Best 👌 ever
Sublime!
She's amazing
One of a kind.
I love that she saves it.
Never knew she sang this from Cabaret when the show was new! And 5 years before the movie.
It wasn’t in the original
broadway show. Originally written for Kaye Ballard. Added in the movie. But Liza had recorded it twice before the movie.
@@mattwc5392 Exactly, and now stage productions tend to include it too not least the Sam Mendes revival with Alan Cumming and Natasha Richardson.
And 2 years before original stage musical.
0:28 The cute blink after she says “He will hold me fast...”
Sometimes it's like looking and listening to judy
she's adorable here
Very good
Imagine Liza M. and "Cher" were supposedly on the consideration list to play Guenevere in the CAMELOT movie. LOL!! 🤣 It would truly be laughable except it's right there in the TRIVIA section for CAMELOT on IMDB!!
she has eyes like the keene painter
She has, "It" ...whatever that is 😉🌻
There’s a reason why she’s still revered. And this is a tiny part of that world size reason.....
Oh how my heart breaks for me Liza. How you never became mine. 😢
Mi reino por casarme con Liza
Wow beautiful Liza! She's so Hot here!
Nothing butta buppit boy ! 👦
Icônico
Liza is a great entertainer but not a great recording artist you have to see her to enjoy her ever notice no hit singles
She had one big hit single with the Pet Shop Boys and Losing My Mind from Follies.
@@williamgardiner2010 that whole album was great!
