Sonic or Mario? This is one question that many a nerd has been asking themselves for some time. This dichotomy of gamers has led some to choose between the two. Personally, I think they’re both just groovy, and if you know me from Top 10 Nerd, you’ll know I’m not normally one to take sides. But Kelly went and said Mario was better than Sonic, and I can’t resist a good argument. So get ready, it’s time for the Top 10 Reasons Sonic is better than Mario!

My Top Known Reasons Why Sonic is Better Than Mario
1. Is an anthropomorphic animal and not a boring human character.
2. Is cooler and more attractive.
3. Sonic's live action movie was successful unlike Mario's live action movie.
4. Have more and better personality.
5. The Sonic games more darker and edgier and realistic.
And he's funnier than Mario too

I'm a Full on Sonic Nerd. I've seen all of the shows, I've Read At least 3 or more Comics from all of his genres, I've played So Many Games, I've even studied so much I know the exact weight, height, and Birthday of multiple characters. I don't want to brag but I just love the series.
Both Mario and Sonic are my childhood and I find both of them awesome. I personally find Sonic better because he has better classic games, music, stories, graphics and visuals. However, I find Mario better in terms of his modern games since he has better spin-offs and more polished gameplay. Mario's multiplayer is much better as well.

I love both, but ultimately come down on Sonic's side because I prefer games with deep characters and narrative, both of which Mario lacks in comparison, if only just a bit.

Lot of variety in Sonic music. Most of the stuff is upbeat, it gets you hooked, it stimulates you. Then you have the music that just makes you feel good when you beat the game, such as the end theme to Sonic 2. And then you have the music that makes you want to cry, such as The Light of Hope from Sonic Forces. That's my favorite song from the entire franchise. Besides, The Light of Hope is also an example of a Sonic song that I can personally relate to.

I'd choose Sonic over Mario anyday. It's not that I HATE Mario, but Sonic feels more fun to me and seems a lot more serious than the Mario franchise at some points. The majority of Mario games are always the same plot but different gimmicks, and gameplay. It always ends up with Mario having to save peach. I do enjoy the MARIO RPGS though, I find them better than most Mario games. Like Paper Mario and the Mario and Luigi series. Now Sonic, he still saves the day with his speed, but he goes through crazy adventures by going into story books, warping through time, becoming a were hog at night with unique abilities, saving ALIENS in space. And so much more. I think the Sonic franchise is a bit more creative than Mario. This is my opinion, it's not a fact. So if any Mario fans are reading this, please don't attack me.
Joshua H I’d choose Mario over sonic anyway. Mario is a lot more powerful than sonic and is a lot stronger and has a wider variety of powerups that can take down sonic. Sonic doesn’t have any power-ups that can take down Mario for GOOD. Not just who would win in a battle, but the games are so much better in my opinion. I’m not trying to say I hate sonic. I still like sonic and the games but if I HAD to choose, I would choose Mario. I feel like the games are more interesting such as Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Galaxy 2, Super Mario odyssey, super Mario sunshine. And Mario games have tons of adventures too. That’s my opinion. KaymBro 15 also, Mario has incredible strength because he survived a mega explosion and he picked up Larry’s castle with his bare hands and punted it. And not only does he have amazing strength, he also has power-ups that could probably take down sonic such as the ice flower which he could freeze sonic with. He could turn sonic into gold using the gold flower. If sonic tried to stop time, Mario has a stopwatch which does the same thing which makes them equal, Mario could increase his size and power with the super mushroom. He could use the wing cap to fly. Now sonic also does have power-ups that can take down Mario too so I’d have to admit that.

My favorite Mario series is the Mario Kart series. I don't care much for the Mario platformers and I don't care much for the Mario Party series and other Mario-related spin-offs. And as for the Sonic the Hedgehog series, I like Sonic 1 all the way to Sonic Mania/Sonic Mania Plus. I don't care much for the later Sonic video game reboots.

Mario was my childhood and I used to play it all the time, I always loved the design of the water levels! Mario has SO MUCH more content and other games while Sonic is sort of edgy in a way, Sonic also has disgusting fanfic and I don’t like the way you disrespected the voice actor of Mario and the cartoons that probably took a long time to do. #Mario

@@mgm128 bruh sonic is better because the thing about Sega is that they like to put sonic in shows cartoons and games while for Mario its just games all the time . Also I like Sega because at first they had some really poor games like r 3d blast 06 but that didn't stop them from giving up and they ending up making amazing games like colours generations lost world mania mania plus forces racing games so much more to prove that Sega can make good sonic games while if you look at Nintendo you can see that they aren't as hard working as they are to Sega considering that they had good games throught which showed that they haven't learned anything at all.
