Enjoyed your video. I've worn Essilor lenses with Crizal coatings for years. They yellow, crack and craze pretty badly after 1.5 to 2 years for me. I live in a humid climate; that may be a factor. My latest lenses are Zeiss with Duravision Platinum, and they're blue photochromic as well. They transition from blue back to clear very fast as compared to Essilor's Transitions lenses. I love them. My worst eye is -14 and I can't wear contacts any more, so I've had to become really knowledgeable on glasses. It will be interesting to see how my current Zeiss lenses hold up over time vs the Essilor lenses.
How is the off axis clarity of your Zeiss lens when you look though them towards the edges compared to your other? Mine is slightly worse than my asahi lite but maybe it's because I went up in prescription
Thanks for this video, very helpful. Where did you get the Asahi lenses on the oakleys? I am looking for those pink reflex color AR coatings since they closed Heywear stores in NY, and can’t seem to locate any other korean optical stores selling asahi-lite
This video is pretty hard to follow. There is basically one static shot of these 4 frames for over 13 minutes, which is hardly appealing. In terms of content, it's contradictory with the title. Frames are discussed, which has nothing to do with the topic (coatings). Same for the lenses. There are too many unnecessary words or poses.
Look at description lens rating and ask questions if you have any. Clear lenses are hard to film and even hard to analyze when you have them in hand as you may not know what to look for. I suggest simply pausing video and try to see the reflective quality of lens in video as I talk through them.
Single vision lenses? In some markets Zeiss single vision lenses (even the higher end ones like smartlife/drivesafe) dont have the zeiss engraving any more.
The lenses in this video are all single vision lenses in the USA market. That's too bad if Zeiss is removing the watermark. Maybe they too are succumbing to inflation and outsourcing to China. I get it though. Most consumers don't look at the details of lenses and concentrate on the frame.
At least judging on this video, the AR coating of Hoyas looks to be better than Zeiss' : the spot (your lights reflection on the lenses) on Hoya's lenses is smaller and better defined
Oh I should have seen this review just a week ago. I got new glasses after lot of comparisons. I selected a ClearSightZ(A different local brand) lenses over the Zeiss platinum thinking that zeiss lenses are some what yellow like we get in blueprotect. For the duravision platinum do you see yellow or is it full clear? I will get them next time if they are clear.
Duravision platinum isn't a blue filter specific lens, but my understanding is that it still filters a little blue. The anti reflective coating is clear and reflects back a whitish/blue.
Today i switched from Hoya lenses to Zeiss lenses. And i will drive to my optician on Monday. Maybe something is wrong with my new lenses. But the reflections are terrible on my new lenses. The color difference would not bother me. But on my Zeiss lenses i can always see my eyes. Regardless if light comes from the back or not. Even in a completly dark room (only my monitor is on) the lenses reflect enough light to see my eyes and face. It is close to a mirror. I switched right back to my old glasses becuase i am going mad.

I'm sure others would be interested in long term use and feedback. Thanks for sharing.

@@IThinkNowListenUp I don't notice a difference between the two brands in off-axis clarity.
So interesting information! Thanks for sharing about Eye Glasses Lens anti reflective coating comparison: Zeiss, Hoya, Asahi-Lite, Warby Parker!

@@IThinkNowListenUp My new zeiss smartlife individual monofocal lens has the zeiss logo engraving in the top and the "z" near the center of the lens.
It still has the Zeiss and Z logo. Just need to see it sideways with ambient lighting
Just got new lenses from Costco they are Hoya, the AR coating is amazing a very subtle greenish tint, better than all my previous glasses.
How did you get Hoya from Costco?

Thank you! this was very helpful. also i live in socal, so i'll watch out for the shady asian eyeglass stores haha. ty
When Optometrist quoted me the prices of Hoya and Zeiss lenses, Zeiss cost nearly double the price of the Hoya.
How much were they charging you for the Zeiss?
@@miguelzapata9460 If converted to USD it is about $500
I agree Warby has the worst anti reflective. Total garbage
