it's ridiculous here we live in a police state here in Melbourne Australia . Most locked down place during covid .
You can ride Rollerblades and electric skooters now but electric skateboards are a no no . Maybe it says more about our politicians not having any balance .

You can also apply a little power while pushing to make it a lot easier it still looks like you are pushing
Just do this but also use the remote in your pocket to make it 10x easier.

I live in Melbourne, yeh it's illegal another bullshit law that's not really enforced I skate past past the cops regularly with no helmet/protective gear at 40+kph and have never been pulled over or chased I'm sorta hoping they do try and pursue me

I built my board from pieces and it's definitely illegal, haha. Massive 11 inch hoverboard motors up front for better braking, 10 inch hub motors in the back with wider tires for grip, and a triple speaker stack in the back connected to a bluetooth amplifier in the middle... And a 12v 50ah + 36v 40ah lipo block pair.

I am pretty sure it is illegal in my state as well, but I rode mine on the sidewalk, on the bicycle lane, on the road, on the parking lot, on the f*cking grass, in front it of the police and park rangers, and at night as well.
No one seems to care.

Serious question, when pushing manually do the wheels spin as freely as a normal board or is it kind of slow?
I'm guessing its slow not because of the wheels but cuz of the weight. The board is heavy due to the battery and stuff, which makes it hard to accelerate but you'd probably get good speed down a hill
Ok so no they arent as easy to kick . weight had nothing to do with. 200kg on standard board vs e board weight has very little to do with it. its the resistance of the motors cause it harder to push. If its a motor in wheel its easier then a belt or gear drive . Hope that gives you a true answer.

In some states of Australia are legal, Tasmania and Queensland for example. But SA and NSW illegal 😢
In the US they are mostly legal in all states. I say 'mostly', because city ordinances can restrict them to the point where they might as well be illegal.

Yes they are illegal in most cities. However cars and trucks which run over people annually are perfectly legal. It is up to us to change the attitude. Until then we remain outlaws because who is going to stop riding?
