They'll most likely keep the tower but stop running it for superman. Also, I think the new coaster that's coming in will be a MACK Stryker. Six Flags doesn't like S&S too much, but they LOVE MACK Rides.
I know that when Tower of Tower at Dreamworld was removed, the drop tower stayed. But that structure was already the same as the Intamin drop towers. Just with a coaster stuck to the side. Superman/Lex is quite different. I'm not sure the tower would be stable without the part that curves to horizontal. I'm thinking that, of anything, that section would have to stay.

It’s so awesome to see the park getting some love, especially the main sign. It’s more than just a first impression-it’s something everyone on the freeway sees.
Sure thing! Yeah, I've gotten used to being bothered by ignorant park employees, security, etc. Would happen all the time when covering Fiesta Village construction at Knott's. Employees telling me I can't film from locations open to the public. I even had one employee tell me that I was making her uncomfortable! That was after me telling her that I've already spoken with guest relations and security. And that there's no issue. Last week at Universal Studios I was stopped by security for filming from the fire stairs at one of the parking structures. It's absolutely absurd. But, I'm not doing anything illegal. So I'm not gonna stop getting video. Agreed about that sign being a first impression and something everyone sees from the freeway! I can't wait to see what they do with it!
Going by rumor mill, the Golden Bear coaster will be a Vekoma Flying Motorbike which is from a patent that was filed, but hasn't been built anywhere, thus "first of its kind" in North America. On another page a SFMM employee said that Supes is getting refurbished (for now), and there are no plans to remove Viper, but Ninja might be on the way out. If so, that's a very large plot of land, especially if they went out to the edge of the park. I could see the park getting a package of Zamperla flatrides. One to replace Scrambler (which would make me sad because I love that ride), but also to fill the space at Pistachio Park, and maybe put another flatride down by Goliath where the dirt lot is. And Dear SF.. please finish Wonder Woman's station theming and add some theming to the ride itself, maybe Greek pillars or temple parts to create some head choppers or near misses which would make an already fun ride even more exciting.

Means absolutely nothing and is complete speculation, but if you look at where the restroom that was removed is in relation to the Superman tower and figure maybe they get rid of Food Etc. and split its offerings into new separate locations, it's a sizable chunk of land they could clear out. Caveat being the employee cafeteria which is the back half of that building. But basically, if you removed Superman, the queue building for Lex Luthor, the Daily Planet (which would no longer be applicable) and Food Etc., that's a decent plot of land. And on the backend, they could utilize that path across the top of the hill that goes under Superman as a new route from one side of the park to the other.
I bet the former golden bear theater may be a future coaster. People thought it was gonna be turned into another stage. Former Scramblers to be replaced with another ride. Superman rides rumored to be closed and demolished or reopened. I hope they reopen the pizza place or replace it with another restaurant.
Seeing Cedar Fair do all of these ride removals and in such sweeping fashion makes me wonder if they're gearing up for survival mode. In other words, I'm wondering if they're worried about a potential worsening economic conditions within the next few years, be it nationwide or worldwide. They are going to be spending a good chunk of money though, but they are doing every thing they can to chew the fat and improve efficiently and they're doing it at a fast pace.
You might have a point! But it also feels like they will only do this to the legacy Six Flags parks. Given Cedar Fair executives are mostly running the show now. It's a bit hypocritical to modify Top Thrill Dragster but then not do the same for Kingda Ka. Perhaps if it wasn't a nightmare with Zamperla? They should have just sucked it up and went back to Intamin.
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork I guess they have been doing the same trimming at their own major parks over the past few years like the removals of Vortex and Firehawk at KI and Wicked Twister at CP. They also left a couple holes at KD that are finally getting filled back in. Carowinds has also seen some removals in recent years. So in many ways, they're probably just doing the same stuff to the Six Flags parks that they have already done to their parks a few years back. If that's the case, than hopefully they will fill the shoes of the old rides they're remove. In Kings Dominion's case, Rapterra is bound to be an excellent coaster, but will it meet or exceed what Volcano was? I'm sure it will be a subject of controversy for years to come. I'm still not totally convinced they'll get rid of all of Kingda Kas structure. It looks like it, but they like to throw people off. They used different language with Kingda Ka than they used with Green Lantern or the other adjacent rides. Rumor has it that Cedar Point originally wanted to go with Intamin for the reimagination of TTD but turned it down when their proposal called for the removal of Iron Dragon and they didn't want to remove it. Then Zamperla came along with those new trains and a proposal that didn't include touching Iron Dragon. If this is at all true, removing adjascent rides to Kingda Ka would suggest they may be going the Intamin route, but we can only dream. I'd like to think that Zamperla has already solved all the issues behind the scenes on and on paper and it's just a matter of physically implementing the changes, but there's no evidence to support that optimism.
I said this months ago, I was fearful of Superman getting the ax, but I think the thing keeping it around is holding the record coaster count. They really need to cover the LSM on it. Thanks for the video! Love seeing the park whenever I can!
You're welcome. And cover the entire launch with a tunnel? I'd be kinda okay with that. I was thinking the same thing regarding that coaster count record. But how many can they seriously have? In terms of coasters getting repainted... You could repaint one every single year and it would take 20 years to get back to the first.
@ hahaha yes, cover the launch with a tunnel and theme it like the ice cave, and do like fog at the opening before you go vertical. Change it up and keep the weather off the launch. And as for the paint, yea, or paint 2 per year in the slow season. What do you think?
Only because of its size and coaster collection. But things are taking a turn for the better. I think that 2025 will be a turning point for the park and that we'll see some very noticeable improvements. There's already been small things. Such as pressure washing the concrete paths, cleaning trashcans and tables, painting buildings. And there's more to come for sure. Hopefully new concrete paths eventually.
They just did a complete overhaul on Scrambler????? Wow! The old Four winds Steak House AKA Laughing Dragon Has not been open for 20 years SMH it has epic views and patio seating and is really a slum lord move on Six Flags behalf........I guess thats why I renamed them Six Slumlords lol........They took out all the people movers too and the park is almost 300 acres twice the size of disney! Thanks for pointing those things out too man they need to really pay attention and invest into such an iconic venue with so much potential........
I'm thinking the new coaster is going to be a Vekoma like Fonix. It would be crazy redundant if they built another launched top hat coaster right next to Full Throttle lol
I believe so. Tatsu took 2+ months of getting painted. And, while in a more difficult location, it has 900 less feet of track than Goliath. I imagine Goliath doesn't reopen until late January/early February. Unless the park decides to pause painting for the busy season.
I saw at Great Adventure that they're likely rebranding legacy six flags parks to just their park name i saw it's called Great Adventure's Holiday in the Park without the six flags name, But now they're under cedar fair with the Six Flags Name, i felt the Six Flags name will only stay in Over Georgia, and Over Texas, I felt St Louis will be Renamed to Mid America, I felt Magic Mountain will be the name on the sign, Superman will be on the Chopping block as the coaster to be next, it can happen once the Golden Bear Coaster get's built, Its the first signs that new Six Flags is taking care of the park
One thing I've always loved about Cedar Fair is that they didn't brand the parks with the Cedar Fair name. Aside from a small "Cedar Fair LLC" at the bottom. I'd love to see "Six Flags" dropped from Magic Mountain and other parks. But don't see it happening completely.
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork I feel exactly the same. I'd love more emphasis on "Magic Mountain". Exactly....and while they're at it, give the indoor que AND station immersive theming as well as air conditioning in the que, especially since it gets so hot during the summer. And FINALLY put the WW logo on top of the lifthill!!
I appreciate you mentioning my thoughts what's the electrical issues on Superman that is what my friend told me was going on and as for the new ride when the images tell the story the steel bird it could be a scaled-down version of Falcons flight in Saudi Arabia food for thought
Sure thing! I hope that's all it is with Superman. Uh... How would a scaled down Falcon's Flight be? That thing is a one of a kind with that massive cliff and available space to do some crazy stuff.
Bright orange on Goliath will make it look just like Tatsu! They should choose a different color scheme! I just want landscaping underneath Scream rather than just being a parking lot coaster. 🌵 I think the main reason the park is so empty most of the time is because progress is so incredibly slow here! I have no motivation to return any time soon… There’s a reason why Universal and Disney are always busy even mid-week! They know how to invest in their parks and maintain their parks!!
The shade of orange on Goliath is different than what was used of Tatsu. Also, the difference in colors used for the supports make the color schemes unique.
@@AmericasCoasterNetworkI guess the one positive if we lost Superman is possibly getting a giga? It could be like a giga terrain coaster of sorts. The station could be in the same spot. Superman’s launch area would be the lift hill and have the first drop go towards the left behind the gearworks theater, out over the employee parking area and back
I wish more of SFMM's walkways were broken up with trees & landscaping. Adding shade to MM, particularly during summer, is a necessity. Also, large expanses of barren concrete make sparse attendance more noticeable. However, I've seen vids of very well themed, expensive amusement parks in Dubai & not enough visitors can make any place lose its vibe. But areas like MM's Samurai Summit are inexcusable, whether crowded or not. I also saw a recent vid that noted even after hundreds of millions of $$ were poured into California Adventure by the Disney Co, the improvements weren't necessarily reflected in much higher visitor counts. Still, something's gotta give.
When Magic Mountain first opened, people were getting heat stroke because the newly planted trees didn't provide enough shade. Fast forward to the 90's and early '00s and trees around the park were big and mature. So much shade all over the park. However, since then, trees are cut down whenever a new coaster is added. The area where Full Throttle is used to be so lush and cool. Especially with the lake for Log Jammer. DC Universe also had a lot of trees before Green Lantern. Then even more were cut down for Wonder Woman. West Coast tsae the removal of trees too. The concept art showed them being replaced with palm trees. But that never happened. Hopefully, under new management, tons of shade producing trees are planted throughout the park. Along with new concrete paths everywhere.
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork They say talk is cheap, & I admit what I'd like to see happen is easier said than done. Although millions of $$ of improvement to me are a necessity, the accounting ledgers of MM may not justify the expense. However, sometimes I see things mishandled not necessarily because of a lack of money, but because folks in charge don't care or are uninterested in what makes something very good or very bad. Disney's California Adventure in 2001 is a major example of that. Yep, its budget was too small, but the judgment of its planners was even smaller.
It'll be best if they bring the Magic Mountain name back to the forefront(without doning the Six Flags title on the prefix) ...........like Cedar Point
Dang I never noticed how much repaint needs to be done in the park. I’m personally okay with Superman going because it takes up a long piece of land so something better with better capacity can fit in it’s place although losing Lex luthor would suck

@@AmericasCoasterNetwork the amount of land clearing they're doing tells me that they're going to try and do something similar
Petition for RMC x S&S to reimagine Escape from Krypton and Goliath as one huge pneumatic launching, full layout strata coaster.
Bright orange on Goliath will make it look just like Tatsu! They should choose a different color scheme! I just want landscaping underneath Scream rather than just being a parking lot coaster. 🌵
I think the main reason the park is so empty most of the time is because progress is so incredibly slow here!
This is what I wish they did with Goliath at SFOG instead of giving it a Sea World color scheme
Took them 2 decades…wow
Took who 2 decades?
@@ThemeparkanxietyMagic Mountain finally getting a lil TLC...especially with the repainting of Goliath, after 20+ years since being built.
Please be an Axis, then they better add the Giga everyone wants. 🙏
With Cedar Fair basically running things, the chances of a giga at Magic Mountain sure improved!
@@AmericasCoasterNetworkI guess the one positive if we lost Superman is possibly getting a giga? It could be like a giga terrain coaster of sorts.
The station could be in the same spot.
Superman’s launch area would be the lift hill and have the first drop go towards the left behind the gearworks theater, out over the employee parking area and back
Any guesses for the 2026 coaster? “First of its kind in the US”
I'd love an S&S Axis. But something Vekoma could be cool too.
Idk why they would remove scream after it got repainted. It's not a smooth ride that's for sure, idk if a train change would make it smoother
Not like the paint job is recent. Scream was re-painted in 2015.
You know what color Goliath will be?
Same colors
Thanks
Wooooo!!!
Still think SFMM was dumb to change the colors of Scream!. Having two blue and orange coasters next to each other is silly.
Scream may be about to be removed. So it may not matter
Yeah I've never been a fan of the new colors.
@Themeparkanxiety what?! Hopefully relocated to a park that needs a B&M....
How could they fix superman up
What do you mean?
@AmericasCoasterNetwork like updating its launch system or making more reliable, also do you think falcons flight will be a Maintenance nightmare
@@ObiGames202it’s no longer worth putting more money into that ride.
@Themeparkanxiety could they retro fit it and put new lsms there?
@ they could actually. I’m not sure what’s going to happen to it. But I feel like it’s done in its current form
No Axis coaster. SFMM doesn't need any more gimmick rides.
That's what made the park so special before. It worked out with X. That's still the best coaster in the park.
They better leave scream alone
I hope it stays and they landscape around it.
Scream ain't going nowhere
God I wish they’d take Viper down. Its time has definitely come to an end.
I just rode Viper on Friday and it wasn't running any worse than it was 20 years ago. I'd love for it to stay.
Aww I like the six flags California sign
It'll look even better when finished.
It'll be best if they bring the Magic Mountain name back to the forefront(without doning the Six Flags title on the prefix) ...........like Cedar Point
Ditch Superman and save Drop of Doom.
Dang I never noticed how much repaint needs to be done in the park. I’m personally okay with Superman going because it takes up a long piece of land so something better with better capacity can fit in it’s place although losing Lex luthor would suck
I hate the tinker toy base. It’s juvenile
Huh? Of what?
That sign was designed probably before you were born. I went to Fontana Junior High School in 1970 and a student Curt LePlante brought in the model prototype that his father designed. Cool to know that is was designed locally by a friends father. By the way Tinker Toys look nothing like those shapes.
Oh, the sign. I love the shapes. Better than a round pole. Nice story though. Cool you got to see the model.
DAMN! I was at the park today from 1 to 4, and I didn't see you. 🥲
Darn! That's exactly when I was there too!
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork one day... Maybe when F&F opens, I will see you at the first soft opening. 🤣
