    Great info as always! I performed my differential drop on my 1stgen 02’ Tundra SR5 TRD 4wd years ago as it was as stated help counter Axle stress articulation, wear n’ tear for ifs. I will leave it where it is as I have had no issues by having it in my older generation Toyota. Markets of all types, always find an opportunity to take advantage of the consumer nothing new. I’m glad we have some one out here doing the math on these modifications we are spending good money on🙌🏽
    All in all, Super mathematical geometrical info!

    The landcruiser tie rod ends and high steer arms are already a great upgrade. I'd almost say the heims are a downgrade lol. Heims are stronger but they wear out a lot faster as well. I run heim steering because I had to on a custom setup but ideally I'd just run a factory 1 ton tie rod end.

    You should use your IFS hubs with the solid axle lockouts and you gain 1.5" per side. You have all the parts and you could ditch the 3" spacers or at least just run the 1.5" spacers.

    • @66Duffman
      @66Duffman  3 года назад +1

      That’s the plan I kept my ifs hubs

      I’m trying to this now and I’m having a issue with the tacoma rotors not spinning when I nut an bolt the caliper/ what size washer did you use to space it by chance ? It’s the last thing I need until the truck works!

    Great job on your video! I am using yours as a guide and it has been very helpful!!
    i am in the middle of the same thing on the same year truck and I have a question.. on the shackle tube (rear) Trail Gear says "Center tube then then 1/4" and weld." The frame makes a jog right at that spot. SO.. is the offset on the outside of the frame 1/4" and where do you measure the 1/4"? Thats all the tube sticks out on the outside? If thats correct then the tube on the inside sticks way farther out. Can you help me out with what is going on here?

    • @66Duffman
      @66Duffman  Год назад

      Sure thing i thing it’s 1/4 the outside…we just made sure the leafs were lined up straight with everything bolted together…tacked it then checked before permanently welding it

      @LittleRiverKingfiser Год назад

      thanks for there reply! I spent the afternoon getting things lined up. I'm within a 32nd LOL! I did have to move the tube out slightly from the 1/4" recommendation. Front hanger finish weld tomorrow.,
      thanks again!

    When u go with the solid axle swap, besides modifying the front drive shaft do u have to swap the transfer case as well

    • @66Duffman
      @66Duffman  3 года назад

      No you can use the stock transfer case…although I recommend a manual transmission swap so you can use the 4 cylinder gear driven Tcase

      @@66Duffman my 1990 pickup is already a manual which is a huge plus. The only other thing I'm kind of hesitant about is where to position the upper shock hoop on the frame
