I thought I was the only person who plays Freddy on a semi-regular basis, so I like to pretended that I'm the sole reason he is so high up.
Curse you! 😂😂
Me too! 😂 But truth be told.. He is just really fun and I normally get a 3k. Easy peasy
Is it weird that I like to play Freddy every now and again and think he’s fun only because of his animations?
i play Freddy a decent amount. there are a few gimmick builds I love running on him. you should try: hex: pentimento, hex: plaything, hex: retribution, sloppy butcher with the never sleep pills and z block. punish survivors who wake up after being hooked. oblivious survivors hear no TR and don't get the lullaby when awake. so you're just invisible until 16m. if they step on a trap they are blind so they can't find totems, and when they find one they become oblivious and reveal all auras.
@@Mr.Manbat nah, the hit animation is so satiafying and idk, going to freddy once in a while is a nice breeze also because I turn auto-pilot with him 😂

26:55 I believe a BIG if not THE reason that Ghostface's kill rate is so low is actually because he's the Go-to "friendly" killer for BP farming since you can t-bag to let survivors know that you're just looking to stalk/chase/pallet farm this game. I think if he was played the same as other killers, his kill rate would be in line with the other stealth killers in the game.
I would say another huge reason is because of tombstone. 9/10 Mikeys I go against have tombstone, and if they don’t just straight up kill you, they get easy hooks from people going into lockers to avoid the tombstone, so that puts him quite a bit higher I’d say
No, no amount of friendly ghosties would be able to low the KR so much. The killer is predictable for most of the times and is weak, despite the buffs.
Nah he just ass let’s be real.
@@VitorSilva-jq8kh yes, for lower mmr i 100% see more friendly killers and more often it's a gf. i've been queueing with my friends who are brand new players and i would say like 1/4 of gf we go against are friendly. also when i want to bp farm i always pick gf. i do think gf is also weak. but you're delulu to deny a good chunk of gf are friendly lol.
I never see friendly Ghostfaces, at least, not as many as the other ones. I don't think it could impact that much.
A few days ago was the first time I've ever encountered a Pinhead. I've got a little less than 300 hours, so just a little bit experienced but I know how to play against most killers.
I didn't know how to play against Pinhead.
Endgame chat was like this:
Killer: gg
Me: I have no idea how to play against pinhead, gg but what do you even do
Then the killer gave me a few tips.
Sometimes I love this game. So wholesome.
Honestly, I've played pinhead a few times and talked to people about stuff like this in end game chat. Pinhead really should be more straight forward and it shouldn't be having to understand 1700 pages of text
Bless the people that have not lost compassion playing this game.
DBD is so unfriendly to new(er) players with just so much info overload for both perks, add ons and killer powers tbh so that's very nice that he helped you out by giving tips!!
@@Matthafford he’s a lot easier than he sounds. There are some kinda complicated things you want to know with him but mostly box logic and you’re good to go and learning whether to tp or go normally
You gotta get that box
Yeah, as soon as I saw that Doctor killrate, I instantly knew it was because of the bots. Every single time, it's doctor. When I was leveling up, every time I heard the doctor sound, I assumed it was a bot. Big thing you're forgetting is that the Doctor bot can be programmed to use its abilities so that it actually gains TONS of extra points compared to every other killer. It was so common when leveling my account in Korea that I just assumed it was the default worldwide because it was just that common to hear doctor and know it was a free game to farm. It was so common that survivors would actually just give up on the gens when they heard the doctor sound and then go off to farm points from totems or chests.
In NA I used to see Doctor bots all the time, but within the last year or two, I've had yet to see them. I don't know why they phased out of my games but it is something I noticed
@@TinyLokiGamingit will be an MMR thing. The doctor bots lose every game so will have the lowest possible MMR.
Therefore only new accounts or extremely inexperienced players really have the potential to run into them.
same, since October I’ve only met like 2 Doctors who are not bots, the rest of them are just means of farming objectives points and altruism points (I let them hit me and other survivors heal me and the cycle starts again).
my swf group plays on the European server, so I’ve never encountered Doctor bots when I play swf, it’s only the Asian server for some reason. once I’ve encountered an Artist bot tho, have you?
I remember getting those when i was new to the game but mine were always hillbillies for some reason
Never seen that in my region
3:54 I love how Otz calls him Michael instead of Myers.
He always do
@@NextPrex does*
wonder why they're on a first name basis... are they that close?
Mr Shape Shapeson.
He calls him Meyers like 5 times in this video lol
About Doctor bots Otz people don't always do that to sell the account, sometimes it's for themselves. The grind to get everything in the game is brutal, I have 3,3k hours on DBD (half of it afk in the lobby but that's still over 1500 hours in game) and I still have more than 10 characters left to unlock for shards. Before the discounts (I made the calculations around Onryo patch) it took OVER 2k HOURS of play time to unlock all the killers and survivors and their perks with them and then you have skins to buy and perks in shrine if you don't want to pay a few hundred $ to unlock everything. For many players dumping 2k hours in a single game is more than they are willing to afford and paying for unlockable content in a game they already paid for is also not an option, so they use bots to farm. For hardcore gamers or people that play DBD for years it's not an issue, but for new players seeing how slow the grind is and how much content is locked behind it it's simply disheartening. Even with a bot running 24/7 it takes nearly 3 months to unlock all "free" killers and survivors.
yeah the pricing system is very harsh in this game. Im so glad i bought he ultimate edition back when they didnt have the 3 DLC packs, i got all the killers and survivors up to "all kill" chapter (and pig, for some unknown reason, i dont remember buying her with auric cells.) The variety is what kept me playing the game and now soon to be 2k hours in the span of the last 3 years. but i had breaks from the game too.
Yeah, the shards are a complete joke honestly, they’re only there so bhvr can claim there’s a way to unlock characters for free, they just want people to spend a ton of money on skins and dlc, I believe the shard prices need to be slashed across the board, but thats never going to happen.
@@thesavagegummybear7341 they actually did lower the price of “free” characters recently with shards. I think they made it half of what it used to be.
@@ohhollyyy I never noticed, probably because it’s been ages since I’ve touched the game besides the past few weeks or so getting back into it, the skins are still absurdly overpriced though.
@@ohhollyyy no wait, just checked again, the price for some is still 9k…
I suspect that part of Chucky's lower kill rate may be due to his popularity. At 7% overall play rate you probably have a very broad skill range, and there may be newer players that picked up the game specifically for him.
His power kind of sucks for noobs. Noobs use his dash and completely miss survivors. I've done it as Chucky. While pros can do weird tech with high sensitivity, looking at the sky, and perfectly 180'ing around objects for hits.
I am waaaayyyy too bad at dash Killers to do well as Chucky. I'm already a trash tier Demo, I only run it because Shreds Fon. c: I definitely added to that low kill rate...
As a lower skilled player, i can say that Meyers being high is not surprising. Every. Single. Match. Without fail, he has one of his add ons that either kills you or gives him infinite tier 3. The fact that my teammates can get me killed because they dont see him is an insanely powerful tool. Every match is over within 5 minutes because he just stalks someone and then runs off to kill someone else.
Myers is sleeper OP in the average MMR bracket.
i literally speed run my first kill with the addon. and got 59 seconds. anything that allows that possibility should be removed.

Tombstone Myers is a reliable pubstomper in low-mid ranks because he's next to impossible to deal with as an uncoordinated team and can end games in minutes.
Despite singularity being unpopular and hard to play (maybe even because of that) watching the streams and seeing otz improve so much with him during his streaks, has been one my favourite things to watch
He's really fun! Yes he's quite complex and hard, and still not as strong as Nurse or Blight, he feels rewarding when you play him right. But sadly people don't like to challenge themselves with complex abilities when they can just bump into walls and get 4ks
Yeah Singularity being a bit unpopular is NOT a horrible thing, out of 34 Killers having a few very complex ones is not too bad. He could still use some small adjustments and QOL changes to help him out though.
He honestly still needs help. He can be strong, but on set maps he's awful, players who understand how free it is to spam EMPs really hurt him, etc. For how hard he is to play I don't think he really earns it in the same way Blight Nurse Spirit do and arguably Spirit and Nurse get a TON easier with headsets and patience. I say it as someone who really liked Singularity when he first came out and no lifed him, but I honestly couldn't tell at a certain point if it was better to setup a web of cameras which are constantly disabled or to use your power in chase and have to hit the same guy with your infection twice. Definitely need some love.
on some maps he wins without a chance for the survivors. so i think its fair for him to lose without a chance on some maps@@JackBytez
I recall some of the best Larry players are Choclate and OnePumWillie.
What you described with The Doctor, I encountered with a Pinhead a while back. I had no idea why they were doing it. It was weird. He just stood in the lobby of RPD and every so many seconds, he would take a swing.
That's just the standard swing bot. Usually they are set up so they move the mouse and click ready every 90 seconds, so in a match they do a little spin and swing.
I had a billy chainsaw, turn around chainsaw for a full game.
@@XaqNautilus you can also set up a macro to just press the button to swing every few seconds. works on xbox, playstation and pc

Skull merchants killrate is heavily inflated by suicides on hook at 5 gens. Last time I tried to play her I LITERALLY had 5 back to back matches where someone instantly suicided on hook which resulted in everyone else suiciding.
It sucks because she's easy to counter and is fundamentally an M1 killer with a bloated kit. People see SM and think that they're gonna' be held for 60 minutes, then complain that she's "boring" when they refuse to try to actually *play* against her.

for the doctor could also be the fact that calm spirit is more used because of the alien perk?

@@srinednco yeah but another good thing has been dead man switch
no, this was the case long before alien came out.
Dont laugh but ive been using calm spirit to counter doctor ever since I started the game in 2018
My personal theory as to why doctor was lower than usual is because of the increased rate of calm spirit usage. Since UW came out, I've seen more and more survivors running calm spitit, and I can imagine that this affects doctor the most.
I remember when alien came out and I constantly ran into calm spirit users as doc, it got so bad that I had to change my build to include the green addon that shows aura when survs madness level increases, but after that it became pretty easy and I got plenty of cheating accusations
Nick Cage perks too. When I run dramaturgy I need calm spirit

Singularity also breaks my heart what a cool character that i love on pc... except i play on console where his controls are so awful and its sad because i think he requires a good amount of technical skill, map knowledge, and a plan. He has so many neat tricks that rewards you for critical thinking witch is why i love killers like hag and yet the controls on console are just that clunky i dont really have him in my rotation of killers i play. I do think his skill ceiling is one of the biggest reasons for his low play rate unlike say sadoko i cant just select singularity and expect a chill match i have to be engaged and have a tab on everything
Hard agree,
BHVR seems to be opposed to using any of the buttons on the controller that aren't LT and RT
Like bind "back to previous camera" to Y or something.
Someone once said that you need to have ADHD to play Singularity because there is just too much going on for any normal Person to play him.
And I think that Joke is pretty funny xD
But there is some kind of truth to it. You need to manage so much with him.
As someone with ADHD I can confirm the opposite is true. Literally the huge amount going on makes him impossible to play for me lol@@KiTho06
I'm learning singularity on console and he's mostly playable in my opinion its just thst aiming quickly is a lot harder compared to a mouse.
I believe Skull Merchant's stats are propped up by the number of suicide on hooks she faces.
But that said, her kit is still extremely bloated. She has stealth, her lock-on doesn't decay over time, she gets Haste when a survivor is scanned or tagged...
Skull Merchant really was made to be hard to balance, since removing one of the things that make her strong can easily make her hopelessly weak.
Unfortunately, it's not only the suicide on hooks, there are survivors that WANT to die, because I play Skull Merch. 😭
BHVR has said before they do not include matches that have DCs or hook suicides. If they did the Kill rates would be even worse.
@@fizzcojettyp7236hi, I’m one of those people 🖐️
Reduce the radius of her Obama Drones... That's all I want since her drones covers above floors and below floors.
OR make her drones only scan on open line of sight targets and increase its detection radius.
SM is pretty loaded, but the issue is how she affects survivors within her loaded kit rather than the buffs she gets from her kit.
She still has some really easy counterplay, but most people I've come to find genuinely do not want to bother with her counterplay and would rather throw the game the moment they find out they're going against an SM.
A reworked, arguably nerfed version of her, to boot.
Also otz freddy gets so many kills because of the dreamworld . You get so many free hits with his lullaby because most people cant tell the direction he is coming from
Yeah that's a fair point!
Does Terror Radius have a directional audio? I can hear where any other sound comes from but I never could do the same with TR.
I guess Myers is so high because of his addons, his addons can change totally his playstyle, being stealthy the whole match or being able to kill you without any hooks
Well his add one are part of the game so I don’t get your point, are Myers’s players not supposed use add ons? Or the ones that isn’t fun for survivors?
@@mcahtme2977 there not saying that myer's shouldn't use addons, it's just something that has to be taken into account like how pig has an above 50% killrate even though she is in general pretty terrible; she is just getting lucky with people rolling bad and dieing to the RBT
@@kilowyatt1107 it’s not luck if they die from the best trap, they just die from the best trap…. People can take into account whatever they want
@@mcahtme2977but isn’t it all luck? its not the best trap as it can be defeated through the first try, it’s gambling with no way to increase your odds, as the same trap can have the key for them all
He has some of the most powerful addons in the game, it's not surprising. Personally I don't like using them, I prefer his shard addons. The amount of info he gets from the mirror addons in general is insane and leaves room for a lot more interesting perks. I don't even need to bring info perks on Myers, I just need double shards and a low TR build. Keeps him really fun, it's like Scratched Mirror light.
For the Freddy placement it didn’t surprise me because every single Freddy that I’ve gone against has either hard three gen camped, or tunneled me, or one of my teammates out without fail
1:24 Tbh I think dead hard should be considered an anti-tunnel perk at this rate, it’s basically (to a degree) off the record but it never goes away until its used with the trade off being it’s difficult to time for newer players and if its predicted its practically useless
yeah i was confused by this comment as well, dead hard is definitely an anti-tunnel perk even if isn't *exclusively* anti-tunnel
I agree 100%. I never ran dead hard during its hayday, and with the nerf I thought I would no longer have a reason to run it.
Today, DS and DH are my staple anti-tunneling perks. As great as OTR is, any Killer who wants to tunnel will hit right off hook--completely negating OTR.
I find that OTR is strongest against Killers who don't really want to tunnel, but find themselves needing to because they lost momentum. Personally, I only want to counter the Killers that come into a trial looking to tunnel the first survivor out, and DS/DH do a much better job at eating a tunneling killer's time.
Never thought I'd be advocating for either perk in 2024, but maybe that is a reflection on where the game has ended up
Then bt atni tunnel too 😂
The issue is that Dead Hard is almost useless in the case of actual tunnelling, since survivors get hit by the killer when they're unhooked, and Dead Hard doesn't work when you're in deep wound.
@@acheron16That's why you use it with DS, that gives you your off-hook hit, you get tunneled down, you use DS which resets your health state, and then you can deadhard after that
I always love the straight forward videos with no clickbait. I can't tell you how many DBD creators trying to capitalize this and it drives me nuts. I watched every second of this. Great video. Very informative.
the nightmare is so high because people who play him are so tired that playing him helps them fall asleep
I'm guessing Freddy and Pig killrates are a combination of having powers that are actually strong in lower MMRs Then their lower playrates will also affect this as because so few people actually play them, people either forget or are rusty in how you actually counter them. This can be observed in fighting games too, where lower ranked/least played fighters tend to do surprisingly well in tournaments because so little actually play them that many simply aren't accustomed to facing them.
I just dont get how they put in the massive blunder of putting the killer perk "self care" into the survivor perks...
A perk that messes with the other sides perks seems dunny
Love this meme same like nerf pig meme 😂
It's because 1) They only show stats for the "low MMR" people or 2) it's a lie. Im not the only one who doesnt believe that Self care is more used than dead hard/Sprint burst...That alone shows how fake this "stats" are...
Or how they did it again with Weaving Spiders... crazy.
Lock On not decaying over time is huge for S. Merchant. She can easily force 'free' injures and ensure the survivor eventually goes down no matter how well they play.
Thank you ! I am not the only one who goes crazy on that ! Its like if Ghostface was somehow allowed to keep his marking after injuring you.
Its better than her kit being exclusively used for Gen merchant.
@@gamingcantina9157low bar. That’s like saying robbing one bank isn’t as bad as robbing two.
@@gamingcantina9157 shes both weaker and stronger on gen oriented gameplay. Survs have to hack (slower if they crouch to avoid being scanned) or sit on the gen immediately. She patrols back and get an easy hit due to haste & stealth or the Lock On will do its job. The scenario will then go out of hand quickly for most teams
@@misterhyde408 Ghostface's marking doesn't decay though which is essentially the exact same as lock on. You can 99% mark someone and it will never go away until you mark them or injure them. They can be 99% marked for the entire game. If GF gets into a position where he can guarantee a hit, pop power and then immediately mark them, a healthy survivor will get downed instantly with nothing they can do.
Hety otz, thank you so much for always putting the perks images and descriptions when you talk about them. It makes it so much easier to follow like that
For Freddy I think there’s a small mix. On one hand, perks like pop and nth are really strong, and also devour hope is good because he can teleport away from the hook to gain stacks but use puddles to protect the totem (sleeping survivors will alert you, and awake ones will get interrupted if they fall asleep midway, like with Phead chains to protect totems).
On the other hand, new players are really bad. Many of them will go to clocks at every opportunity, it’s so rare to see anyone fail a skill check as nightmare and I assume it’s due to the protection from sleeping given by clocks. That’s useful when you want to unhook or something, but the time waste is massive and there are games where I have a 3v1 because Dwight spent ten seconds on gens and five minutes going to clocks across the map. And the other survivors who haven’t played Freddy maybe don’t understand the lullaby, plenty of times I round a corner to a gen and two survivors are still sitting on it because they didn’t see the red stain or hear the heartbeat. His unpopularity adds to this, where survivors seem to not understand counter play or try to vault a window with a snare and get grabbed because of hindered.
Finally, his addons are bad, and his skill ceiling is really, really low. A new player on doctor spamming shocks and resetting bloodlust will get maybe 1 kill, a bad blight will miss rushes and can’t hug tech, wesker keeps vaulting windows and pallets and never grabs the survivor, but Freddy is so easy to play that in low mmr brackets he’s already being played to full strength, maybe missing a perk or two that would make him stronger but you really can’t use him “wrong”.
Man I was waiting for this since the devs posted the statistics
I wish they had included more high vs all/low mmr comparisons. The pick rates and win rates at high MMR have to be pretty different.
I can address a couple of your confusions, because I really think they come from the lack of high and low mmr comparisons. Legion and Chucky have low kill rates because they're popular, this means there are more games played at lower ranks and by people just trying them.
You also mentioned that Ghostface is harder to play because of his lean, but you missed that Myers just get's to insta down everyone. They are also both popular so you have a lot of sloppy killers who activate their power at the wrong time, but Myers gets to down everyone anyways and Ghosty watches them start running before he's close enough to actually ambush them.
Nurse is also explained by being hard to play and popular, I think even more then the console issues; she's the kind of killer who is balanced where she is.
I think they don't wan't ppl complaining "Hey look Freddy is in high mmr bad why not Buff"
Because 90% in low and mid allready suffer
And high mmr is a small minority of playerbase
@@muysli.y1855 It's pretty crazy when you look at people who no-life this game and post on Reddit about how this game is so hard against "Good Survivors"/"Strong Killers", but like... Most people just ain't there, which is probably why some of these Killers have been getting buffed recently.
I would also guess that knowledge of Freddy plays a lot into his kill rate. One of dbd's biggest learning curve is figuring out how all the killers work, so running into a killer that you almost never see, and who has several different abilities/perks that can punish you for reacting wrong, probably helps a lot in setting his kill rate so high.
I really hope they don't see this as an opportunity to nerf windows of opportunity. It's so helpful in soloq, knowing where pallets have and have not been dropped when it's your turn to be chased.
I don't think they will. Most people agree that it's not anything to worry about. Those who do are noob killer mains who don't know anything and are looking for every reason to cope with their own lack of skill. That being said, I might actually use Windows if they nerf it because atm it is too overstimulating for it to be helpful to me. With as many people ending themselves as soon as they see Sadako or the merchant, I’m not surprised
why do people suicide against Sadako of all killers though
@softierei I'm not familiar with what changed with her rework, but the last game I played against that killer (yesterday), within the first 2 minutes of the game, two survivors already had that red circle thing and the other two (me included) were 1-2 tv teleports away from having it too. The killer spent the first 2min teleporting nonstop and finding a white TV to take a VHS from felt impossible because every TV I found was off.
@@AdAstraCompany all that really changed in her rework as far as i know, is that if she teleports to a tv, all survivors within a certain range of ANY tv gets a stack of condemned. and that getting hooked locks in the stacks of condemned you have for the rest of the game.

One thing I think people forget about Sadakeo is that she's *really* easy to tunnel and camp with. She can hook, then either stealth nearby, while still being able to check on gens cuz TP allows that instant movement, or she can instant TP nearby on the unhook. Combined with being very hard to pallet stun and bodyblock due to her phasing, for lower mmrs, even tho she's really not good atm, I definitely see how she is doing so "well."
Same with Freddy, Dredge and Xeno. All highly ranked killers here. Makes sense.

Hi Otz, I main Demo and Artist and I think the reason why she is not that popular are her cooldowns, slowdowns when using power and ramge restrictions on hook, I did a 131 win streak on her and I would like to see your opinion on some changes I suggested to my friends because you have more knowledge in this game than me, so I would love to hear your thoughts!
Oh really? By all means send me a DM or something!
@@notOtzdarva To add Otz, I think Artist is less popular because she just isn't that flashy a Killer and doesn't do the same loop game a lot of people play this game for, chase is one of the more fun parts of the game. Artist basically cuts chase down to Hold W, which really isn't that fun.
@@ThePhantomSafetyPin i think this is such a misguided line of thought. to me she is a similar level of fun as huntress, only even higher, because your shots can go through obstacles. i can understand not liking to verse artist, especially if she is playing in a strictly loop denying way, but playing her in a sniping way is some of the most fun you can have as killer in my opinion. i think people just don't give her a chance because when they think artist they think "drop bird on pallet/window, move to next tile", and not think of cross-map snipes and cool prediction slingshots, which ARE very flashy! i may just be a biased artist main though.
I've noticed that when I have played Skull Merchant most survivors give up pretty quickly! Possibly the reason her kill rate is artificially inflated. Could be worth some research maybe, similar to your solo queue spreadsheet?
A ton of people have an irrational hatred of her. Comedically so. They will always kill themselves on hook, no matter what.
Her kit needs work, but she's nowhere near ad problematic as the S and A-tier killers. Not by a longshot.
@@TheOnlyToblin Oh I agree! I don't find playing against her to be too bad!
Its rlly boring she is mostly a tower aoe Killer, chases are not fun with 10 status effect.

SM is not the ony stat that's artificially inflated...Devs show this "stats" but purposefully ignoring/hiding the details like hooks/Low-High MMR/Gens completed to give context for this "killrates"
@@TheOnlyToblinshe's boring to play against and braindead to play as so it's obvious why no one likes playing into it
I've bounced between low and mid mmr and played both Myers and Ghostface a lot. I might be able to shed some light on it. In low mmrs you see people go for saves at really bad times, or stay grouped up way more than they should. Myers can snowball into multiple downs very quickly against overly altruistic survivors or survivors that stay close to each other. In low mmr when people stay grouped up you're a lot more likely to get revealed early as Ghostface. Basically the way bad players group up boosts Myers and lowers Ghostface.
I predict a Ghostface buff, and a pretty decent one, in the next year. I really do. If he's struggling THIS much already the Devs will likely buff him. They buffed Huntress and she hardly needed it, they buffed Trickster and Onryo who did need it, and they're probably going to buff Ghostie too. Everyone at the low end. It's possible Billy has higher killrates now so is fine, but dang. Dang.
I think this stats release has also made it even more clear that most of the community as we know it are far removed from the average player base. If you're watching RUclips videos about stats breakdowns you're probably already in the top 20% of the player base.
I saw Sull Merchant at the top, and was like, "Yeah, that makes sense"
I think a possible contributing factor for the Doctor's position is how much of a impact latency has on his chase power, making him quite unpredictable (from the killer's pov)
I love running self-care, botany knowledge, and bite the bullet for some cheeky stealth moments and team support. Follow it up with draumaturgy for some chase potential, random items, and memes, and you have my current favorite build.
That's a pretty fun build not going to lie, and solid. Stealth play is really fun in this game but too many Survivors ONLY wanna loop or do gens. I'd rather see what I can get away with without being caught.
every skull merchant i've played agaisnt my teammates gave up after the first chase (even the people in my sfw).
probably someone who never played her before (because of her bad rep prolly) deciding to try her, sucking cuz they have no idea how to optimize her gameplay and then just gives up instead of learning anything
Sad but yeah, I believe it.
Skill issues all around
Winrate numbers are such a fascinating thing. I was a coach in Smite, and I can tell you, winrates because of popularity are extremly impactful. I have seen characters get mega buffed and lower their winrates because of becoming a character everyone plays. Freddy does not surprise me at all in this regard, and neither does Chucky because of this.
There is more to factor than one thinks, and I am sure there are little things that could make the stats make more sense. I remember there was 1tank item in Smite that had always a ridiculous winrate in any character, without being crazy good or anthing, it was even risky to use. The reason I found out: the item only made sense to be bought if you were wining, and sentencing a win is easier than overcoming a difficult game.
Just like this, Nurse will never have a good winrate, even if they bring the old one back, because what makes her problematic is the base movement speed. If you are not having a good day with Wesker, you can always just try to M1. She cannot do that. She has to blink, and if you are struggling, you will barely injure anyone. This reason applies to the case of the 110% killers. None are super high up there (only Hag kinda works because of other reasons) because they rely on their abilities. Chucky and Deathslinger can bruteforce the results, Huntress can face infinites if they are not good at her, and she is one of the most popular killers which will bring her down even harder.
I would like to have more profound stats to analyze what is going on here, like the winrates per perk, winrates in the top percenters (how unavoidable is a killer if played to the best level), percentage of 0k and 4k of each killer... but as it is, this already tells us certain things.
Great work as always, I would have never thought about the Doctor issue and seems very plausible.
Well stated. Killers that are played by many, especially new players, should have lower kill rates no matter their capabilities.
Singularity really is fun to play, I love every minute of him. It's just that you have to do so much to get the same value as other, much easier killers. I don't know what they could do about it but I would love to see some changes :(
About the afk thing. Some time ago, Freddy was able to do it too.
Maybe because his power keep activating by itself and survivors need to interact, with either his clocks or wake up, it wasn't hard to find at least one Nightmare swinging at the air every day.
Freddy makes a lot of sense, actually. I think an underrated plus of several killers is mobility- Freddy and Sadako both have fantastic ways to constantly zip back to gens, which is really good for low/medium skill players who find themselves stuck in bad chases or unable to find survivors (happens ALL THE TIME) to get them back into the game. The fact that these abilities can be basically spammed and include natural 'slowdown' makes them very easy to play 'well' and very hard to play against for newer players.
Sadako is still a nightmare to play against on rpd and midwhich . The slow down is insane since you have to go across map to pop your tape in and your always near a tv to gain passive condemned
Awesome editing Otz! ❤
Awesome vid otz!
Regarding Freddy I think his more or less basekit oblivious/undetectable debuff helps him a lot on average.
It gets triggered regularly or with each basic attack hit. That is quite powerful especially as you do not have to do any fancy stuff to work with it. And mixed/solo q groups with maybe one or two less experienced players and lacking comms are easy prey for him too.
Plus he can teleport. Not necessarily a must, but very nice to have the option. You can also just fake a teleport and freak out players, which can be valuable too.
He actually is a very fun m1 killer, I enjoy playing him from time to time.
Fake pallet add on ups his kill rate tremendously too.
In my opinion, one of the most important factors that keep pinhead so high up in the win% is the fact that he's probably the hardest killer to 3v1 against, so if he tunnels someone out quickly, it's almost a guaranteed win (whereas to other killers this still applies, but to a much less extent), especially considering he has the original pain add-on, which allows him to effectively tunnel.
When you're 3v1 against him, not only do you have the usual scenario of a survivor in chase, one on the hook and one going for the rescue, but you also have to worry about the box. Good luck doing gens at that point! EVEN if he has trouble catching someone and the chase lasts a long time, that still keeps 2 survivors busy - one in chase and one handling the box. And let's not forget that he can also run slowdown perks.
I don't think I've ever had a single win as survivor vs a Pinhead in a 3v1 scenario. Either we stay 4-man strong and work well together as a team until we all escape or at least until the end-game, or he manages to kill at least 3/4, with the last one either getting the usual gifted escape or the hatch.
I Main Pinhead, Myers, Ghostface, Dredge, Sadako, and also play Legion, Wraith, and Demo sometimes.
Pinhead in particular is just really hard to deal with. You get someone who is bad, someone who goes down fast, someone who flails against him, and the team is doomed. It's hard to deal with as a 4v1 generally, but even harder as your numbers shrink.
Freddy is actually really good at snowballing. Being able to hook someone and then turn around and tp to a gen, kick it, then get into another chase all in like 5 seconds is pretty good. I used to play him a lot because of this reason and won pretty consistently. I used pop, bbq, brutal, and thrilling tremors to know where to go after a hook.
The Freddy conversation is really interesting. I feel like his stats might rise soon as well, given the growing "gen block" perk strategy.
Sad to see that pretty much all killer perks are exclusively slowdown while survivors have such variety
High MMR survivors can rush 5 gens in first 3 minutes (many videos are proof), so im not surprised
Killers are pretty much forced to use their powers/perks to slow the game down. Otherwise the gens just fly and you lose.
Whether a killer is trying to sweat, or just wants to have fun, both styles face the same limiting factor - time.
That should be enough for most people with common sense to realize gen speed is an issue (more so for M1 killers, less so for more mobile and agile killers) and needs to be addressed.
When I play killer, I aim for fun....which for me is chasing and hooking each twice, then letting all escape assume there was no BM'ing.
The fun is in the chase, it's in the mind games.
If the gens fly by at the speed of light, the opportunity for fun is drastically limited. :(
BHVR has made this issue and they're going to have to take drastic action to course correct. Adding 10 seconds to gen repair time was a start, but they need to do more. Whether that's more time to repair or some other nuanced solution, more is needed. I would prefer they dream up a nuanced solution, as some killers don't need the help.
But again...they've made this bed by leaving some killers/builds OP and hand-holding survivors so they aren't forced to learn the game.
@@InacurateI really wish that they make gen timer is around 120-130 seconds while buffing alturistic gens and nerfing gen slowdowns
Even if gens are going to pop in first 90 seconds of the match, it's at least going to be 1 or 2, but not all 3 right after your first chase
I wouldn't say exclusively.
5 out of 10 ain't that bad.
Top 5 is slowdown though so probably mostly a combo of those with one on the right side.
But yeah, killers bring slowdown a lot.
Kinda just the way the cookie crumbles.
They have the least counterplay and buy you time.
What's not to like about that as killer.
Also just keep in mind the casual mindset. Not everybody brings these perks to win persay.
I am not the best killer, i will admit that 100%, so those perks combined with not tunnel visioning an uncatchable survivor, don't even have to be that good, just better than me, atleast give me some competetive matches that aren't over in 5 minutes.
I can and will lose with meta builds, just think how bad it goes when I don't.
I love that the community collectively agrees that the Skull Merchant is the worst thing in the game.
Just because ppl quit and dont know how to play against the drones. if you stand still, crouch walk, or are doing an action then drones dont detect you. Its easy to get a ton of progress on a gen because the killer gets false confidence with the drone on the gen. Imo, the drones are only good during chase because they give undetectable and haste, however knowing when to w key can be vital and you can buy easy time while she has to wait to recall a drone and place it again.
And Trickster
Honestly I’d love to see a video about how likely a killer will let a survivor escape? When you were discussing ghost face the first thing that came to mind was typically ghost face players will let one or two people go. They mess around with survivors and everyone has a good time.

Devs wont show you this, they invent this false stats without any details, just to create a narrative: "Oh look, Pig is in 6th position even if we say that 400 games with Plague are the same as the 20/30 games of Pig, so Pig is as strong as Plague, thats why we have to nerf Pig!"
@@BwanaLasPelotas why would they waste time faking stats when they could just not release them and claim whatever they want?
Genuinely surprised that Friends till the end wasnt on the list considering there was a whole week long period (played every night, at least 4 games each session) when every single killer i went against was using it. I put calm spirit distortion on that entire week.
In my experience with Huntress the biggest thing hurting her kill rate is map design. The maps have so much clutter, and there are so many objects with hit boxes bigger than the object itself that survs can just constantly break line of sight or even crouch so that the hatchet gets eaten by the map. In a lot of cases the game simply doesn't allow you to get a hatchet up in time to throw before the surv turns a corner. I think the only way to bring Huntress up is to either make her 4.6m/s, or to adjust the movement penalty for starting the wind up animation but not throwing the hatchet. If they're not going to adjust her base speed then at least reduce the chase music so that surv sounds are easier to hear. Currently, the most effective way to run a loop tight enough with her is to be angled so you only have half the screen that isn't a wall which means any kind of random movement isn't going to be seen, and without useful audio you're forced to visually check which direction a surv has gone.
My theory about doctor kill rates is that like 50% of doctor players are only playing him to finish challenges where you have to make survivors scream like 40 times and then let them go since spamming shock that much means you aren’t gonna get many kills
You play Scream Doctor to complete challenges. I play Scream Doctor because it's funny. We are not the same.

When I first started I had one single match where a billy was just spamming his chainsaw/M1 into a corner. All of us were standing around pointing at him and taking hits and getting healed, and the billy did not move an inch apart from staring into the same corner spamming his chainsaw and m1 . We just did gens and left. Sounds similar to the doctor situation
28:54 In my region (SEA), I've noticed that the Doctor has a lower kill rate, which I attribute to the popularity of the Ultimate Weapon perk. Many weaker link survivors tend to equip Calm Spirit and Distortion perks, making it challenging for the Doctor to gain any information about survivor positions after using his Static Blast ability. This means that the Doctor may only locate stronger survivors and have difficulty chasing them down.
I think people miss the fact that windows of opportunity is an accessibility perk that makes the game much easier to understand.
tbf it's a waste of a perk slot for all but the most experienced survivors, since Windows allows the more experienced survivors to identify multiple loops that they can connect.
@@devxronot at all, it helps new survivors to identify where pallets spawn and for what pallets are up for solo queue.
Actually I think people understand pretty well why Windows is so nice and "overused". There's really no replacement for it.
@@notOtzdarva people consider it information but I explicitly mean accessibility like the way spine chill was used as a replacement for terror radius by players who have hearing impairments I mean 😅 windows makes maps much easier to understand for people who have trouble discerning loops through all the visual clutter in maps

Jesus Chris Otz you made me think that I missed a chapter lmao
This data is badly missing hook counts and gen counts that would tell us a lot about camping, tunnelling, endgame kills, etc. If the first death is consistently happening at 3-4 hooks, that's a big warning sign about tunnelling. Or getting 2 kills off 2 hooks, camping or survivors offing themselves on first hook (depending on the length of hook state). Or alternatively, if the first hook is happening after 2-3 gens are finished, they probably need to be looking at addressing game flow and speed. Same with endgame hooks. It's so impossible to unhook without trading in the endgame, even with 2-3 healthy survivors that almost everybody in my games just dips, which means that 0Ks are extremely rare, which is going to bump up the kill rate. But on the opposite side, slugging for the 4k is MASSIVELY more common than allowing for the hatch mechanic to exist, which is also going to up the kill rate. Both take away a lot of options and are just plain miserable to deal with, so I can't help but see them as hugely unhealthy for the game as well as twisting the kill rates.
I would also say that the nonexistence of anti-tunnel perks in the top 10 is not because they not on newbie friendly survivors or the like, but because they're woefully insufficient and don't actually protect you from tunnelling. OTR doesn't work at all if you're hit right off the hook. DS is laughable against a ton of killers. And there's not a whole lot else that's actually easily usable.
Devs pushed the game in this diraction and now they dont want to admit that they make mistakes so we'll see only these stats which doesnt make look them bad. Some people including content creators asked for stats like amount of hooks/kills per gen/before gens are done/after gens are done but they ignore this to avoid being exposed.
Also, developers trying to push the very basic "3k=win for killer" is bad, because in their eyes a Leatherface getting a 3k with 3 hooks is the exact same as a nurse getting 9-11 hooks? That's very awful. Lacking Anti-tunneling perks in the "top 10" doesnt mean they are insufficient, its the other way around: They're very efficient and most survivors doesnt know how to properly use them, also it indicates how these stats are fabricated (Or at the very least, not all of these are truthful)
My theory for Ghostface being lower down on the list is that a good portion of people play him for the memes and do not concern themselves with winning their matches when playing as him.
The issue with ghostface currently is that his counterplay from the survivor side is so easy people often do it without even realising. A survivor can reveal him from positions he cannot stalk them in, which is stupid. His only counter to that is distance, which nobody does because he can’t do anything from distance since he has 0 mobility. I have hundreds of hours on gf and these issues are so apparent. And he is such a unique killer in that people enjoy playing against him when he does well, jumpscare are insta-down simulator, it’s fun for everyone. They really do need to tweak him. Ether give him some mobility or form of stronger power, or massively fix his stalk, because by design revealing him should be a risk a survivor takes to avoid someone getting exposed. A survivor reveals him faster than he can mark them, even with philly, and they can do so while he cannot stalk them. His counterplay is too strong all around. Lastly survive with friends literally counters ghostface entirely. His only advantage above other killers is his ability to hide info from survivors. In a swf, if one survivor knows where he is, they all do. It utterly eliminates his strongest asset and honestly it’s so stupid that they haven’t addressed that. It’s beyond a balancing issue, it’s a design issue.
When otz started going over doctor bots I immediately had a flashback to when I first started playing and ran into 3 of them back to back.
26:50 Well that and the fact that ghostface mains are chill as fuck and memeing half of the time with the wazzzaaaap mask.
Doctor might also have gotten hurt by Calm Spirit being more widely used
What I noticed is that spirits phase works similar to the knights gard summon in the way that you're fast, can't see the surviver, but you can hear them if injured
My Doctor/Ghosty conspiracy. K gets 'lagvantage', or the laggier you are, the more of an advantage you have to get fake hits at pallets/windows. Both of these powers are the exact opposite, the 'lagvantage' is now on the S side, and the 200 ping S reveals you through walls and jumps windows 1.5s after you shocked them (because they queued up the animation on their screen). Most players are bad at the game, and haven't adjusted to playing around their enemies latency. Any normal K who queues up as Blight or Demo or Wesker used to have lag help them get fake hits, but when playing Doctor/Ghosty, it makes them miss, and get frustrated. That frustration, combined with the actual mechanic being latency verified, makes the K tilt and lose more often.
SM has too much to her kit and doesn’t earn it. She deploys drones mid chase and if you just hold W, she doesn’t even have to land a finger on you - her AI power does it for her. You get injured and broken, you get deep wound, then hindered, all whilst she is getting speed boosts - all of this
Cause holding W is such an exciting interaction to have, very skill based
@@thomasjasso9378 I never stated it was. My point was you can’t even do that.
Sm main here, I’m honestly surprised at her placing, but I agree with what others have said. If you change any of the small thing In her kit, she becomes very weak. Another issue is that no one wants to learn her counter play, and playing the killer is the best way to learn counterplay imo. It’s all an unfortunate mess of both the game and the people playing against her
Great analysis!

We're talking about bots farming as Doctor, but with Ghostface I think along with the complexities you mentioned, I do remember a lot of Ghostfaces just wanting to vibe with survivors at the lowest MMR, and even now that I've improved a decent amount, I do still see the odd chill Ghostface here and there. Could very well contribute to his lower kill rate.
Probably because of the fact he can teabag
Had a Ghostface once who vibed with everyone the whole match, but it turns out he had Rancor and he mori'd my friend. That's all he wanted lmao
So about Chucky, I do agree he isn't as easy as you think. I think it's mostly due to the high power cooldown and the control of the slice and dice attack. From personal experience, I played a few matches with him and got absolutely destroyed because I couldn't use his power right. Besides, you should take into account that he is the only killer thats 3rd person, so it gets really confusing, especially with distances. So I imagine a lot of ppl would stay away from this killer because of how it changes their gameplay. Of course, its still a very strong killer that's rewarding once u get a grasp around his kit, but I don't think most people want to invest too much time in this killer. Loved the vid, much love Otz !
I'm not gonna lie, when i need to do silly tome challenges on killer, I always do it on Doctor. Things like break a bunch of things in a match, I'll do them on doctor and farm a bit with survivors, then let them all leave.

You’re my favorite yapper Otz
Very romantic of you, thank you pal.
Regarding Freddy, I definitely think what makes him so lethal is his slowdown potential. Yeah, he’s good with your standard gen regression kit, but my build is a bit unconventional and it consistently works pretty well.
I run both children’s clothing add-ons, overcharge, oppression, hex: huntress lullaby, & hex: undying.
This means that if you kick a gen:
> 2.5% regression from the kick
>the gen starts regressing faster over 30 seconds(85-130% of normal)
>oppression activates, possibly causing missed skill checks, which is for both great early game & late game. Early game is unexpected and can stop an early gen pop. By late game you will probably have max stacks of lullaby, so no warning, & less gens means higher probability of hitting a gen that matters.
> Overcharge forces a difficult skill check on the next person to interact with it, when if failed, imposes a 4% penalty.
So adding up the penalties (lullaby numbers in parentheses):
Normal skill fail: 18% (24%)
Overcharge fail: 22% (28%)
I made this build with the sole purpose of making oppression good.
Correct me if my math is wrong.
Wesker's awakened awareness is incredibly underrated in my opinion.Get lots of hits or even downs from survivors hiding in a bush or just round the corner while carrying and AA mixes very well with perks like mad grit and agitation
