Unfortunately, I was working on the night and didn't get chance to speak to you Outstanding then and even better with the new software. Looking forward to catching you guys again
Great Paul! I was telling friends today, that the fact of bringing a Guitar player to play so beautifully well Keith Emerson’s part represents the best Tribute to Keith by avoiding bringing a another keyboard player, I mean; Carl can bring Rick Wakeman and have him play exactly what Keith used to play; however bringing a Guitar player to do that part so well and so majestically performed, completes the respectful tribute to Mr. Emerson. Don’t you agree?
Wow your playing is amazing. I love my MIDI guitar 2 too. We played Moody Blues Nights in White Satin. I used my Taylor 12 string with a blend of strings then switch to the Flute sound for the solo. Worked & sounded great.

Would be interesting to see your settings (in case you`re still using it)
I'm still using it - still the central part of my rig when it comes to midi sounds. One tip I can give you is that some sounds will react/trigger better than others for some reason. If you use sounds with a very harsh attack, such as a piano, you might find you get a lot more mis-triggers than if you were using a sound with a softer attack such as a synth lead. In terms of sensitivity, I set the gain on my audio interface to as low as possible - that really helps when it comes to any false triggers due to string noise etc. Hope that helps!

Hey Michael, have you tried the demo on their website? It’s free and fully functional (I think the save function is disabled?). I’d encourage you to check it out. I’m running it as a standalone, and since this video was filmed started using IK Multimedia SampleTank to load multiple instruments so I can switch quickly between them by having MG2 switch midi channels. Sounds amazing Paul! I still have an early Roland GR9 but I very well may be upgrading to a Midi Guitar 2 after seeing and hearing this. Did you have to do anything special for the laptop computer to handle software and or any latency issues? Your playing tracks phenomenally well through that setup!
Thanks so much Robert. Nothing special, this was with my old laptop (original bought for spreadsheets and admin), I've since upgraded to a faster MacBook Pro and the difference is really noticeable. I would definitely recommend going for a faster computer.
Hello Paul, this looks great! I downloaded the trial version, but I do have some latency problems, despite my high-end computer. After recording and inspecting the PRV on my DAW, I also see a lot of notes I never played. Does that ring a bell with you?
Hey Peter. Hmm, I have heard there is more latency when using it as a plugin on a DAW, rather than a standalone live performance app. To be honest, I’ve never used it in a DAW so can’t comment on that, but there is practically zero latency on my 2018 MacBook Pro using the standalone app. As for the false triggers, I find that’s a lot to do with how you have your audio interface set. For best results I recommend having the input gain on your interface as low as possible - that way only notes you mean to play register. There’s also a built in gate on the MG2 standalone app that should help filter out mis-triggers from string noise, but again that’s something I’ve not tried - lowering the input gain has always done the trick for me. Hope that helps!
This was my old laptop, so I had it on the slowest settings. Doubling the guitar amp, the latency isn't really noticeable for me - in fact a little latency is quite nice as it thickens the sound, but I have the latency on faster settings now I have a newer macbook pro. I think it also depends on what samples/plugins you're using - I have some really nice IK Multimedia sounds that my old computer struggled with, but less processor-heavy sounds such as the ones in this video ran super-smooth.
