    Whirlpools own instructions leave a lot to be desired. Thanks for this excellent video that allowed me to do an excellent installation :-)!

    The instruction booklet that came with our new Kitchen Aid was sorely lacking in detail regarding side mounting bracket installation. Thanks for the video!

    Great video as always. You definitely want to use a magnetic screwdriver to affix the screws to the wood frame so that they don't drop down the side.

      That is THE most important instruction that is forgotten... until after one loses the screw forever?

    Very good detailed instructions. Using this video I was able to remove the top clamps and was able to install the side mounts. TY.

    I have a KDTE104ESS1 KitchenAid Dishwasher and it was going to be too long to wait for side brackets. I used 3/4 pipe strap for 3/4 inch pipes hammered flat. It happens to be 3/4 of an inch wide which fits nicely through the hole in the side. I just flattened it and used the existing holes. I needed a fancy one with notches snipped in it because I only had front access to my dishwasher. Stuck it though then twisted it. The main thing before anchoring it, is getting it level -KitchenAid gives feet that have hex tops (3/16") that a small socket does quick work of. If you don't level it, the drawer slides out and the water level isn't right.
    The reason for anchoring it is so when you roll out the full dish rack, it doesn't fall forward spilling your dishes everywhere. Mine is in there so tight that isn't going to happen anyway. Another way would use the sheet metal flange sticking out to catch up against a stop block. Size them to your circumstances and use the access holes to pin them with screws. If you have vertical room a bracket is available to span the top and screw into.

    Thank you for sharing this video. The dishwasher you demonstrated on is ideal with the cap that covers the hole. What would you do in the case of not having that feature or any pre drilled hole? I don't want to damage my dishwasher to mount it properly.

    • @drakedorosh9332
      @drakedorosh9332 3 года назад

      If you have enough vertical room under the cabinet there is a bracket that bridges the top of the washing machine and has a honey comb of threaded holes in it enough to match most top hole locations. You screw that in to both sides with four screws and then use the correctly sized threaded bolts to anchor your dishwasher. This is when you have a granite or too hard for screws counter top. Leveling the feet is half the battle.

    save your money! You don't need that kit. You can use the top brackets. They are made for either installation. If your are putting them on the side just break off the end

    So in the video the side caps are removed from the outside of the dishwasher after pulling it out. How do you remove them from the inside? Eventually you'll have to remove the dishwasher , and you won't be able to pull it out without removing the caps from the inside first to unscrew.

    My dishwasher doesn't have that handy band just behind the front face of the "box" - instead there is a narrow strap to which the two top mounts are spot welded. There is no place to attach the side mount brackets. Any suggestions?

    Doesn't mention leveling and alignment, which should be done before you drill a hole in your cabinet.
