- Video covers how to test and replace the water inlet valves on a Maytag Bravos XL washing machine and resolve the issue of it not filling. Model number in the video is MVWB835DW0. Often times when this occurs the machine will also show an LF error code.
Thank you, this was my exact problem. We bought the part and it works great now.
Thank you so much for your videos! You are a God send. I live in northern Alaska and needless to say there are very few appliance repair businesses....like none at all. I followed the steps on your video, ordered the part, and put that sucker in and everything works perfectly! I rarely comment on RUclips but I felt you should know that your videos help a lot of us part-time repair folks all over the world.
You're very welcome! Glad I could help!
I’m in tears my dad pass away ! I inherited all his tools , of Course my car starting acting crazy and my wash machine had this code ! I literally watch this video and one more 56 times ! To my surprise lol 9 hours later it’s working thank you so much for this video ! 😢 you saved me so much money ! I’m so glad this video was on RUclips !
I'm sorry to hear about your dad! I'm glad this video made your life a little easier!
Life is cruel to us, isn’t it?
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. Instead of spending $800 on a new washer , I ordered a new solenoid for $25. Problem fixed.
@@brianbuckner530 that's awesome to hear. Comments like this keep me going!
Thank you for posting this! I took a leap and ordered the inlet valve when my washer wouldn’t fill with water, then found your video so I could figure out how to get to the valve!
thank you!!!! maytag wanted $300 to come out in two to three days. Your video walked me through this perfectly. You should have a link where people could send you a tip$$ for your efforts to film, edit and load to RUclips to help people like me! It took me 30 minutes of my time and a $28 part from Amazon that arrived in eight hours after I ordered it. Thank you thank you thank you!
You're welcome! Actually, there is a thing called "Super Thanks" on RUclips (right below the video) that allows you to tip the content creator 😀 Either way, good job on the fix!
What is the part? I dont see the part linked anywhere@@DuctTapeMechanic
Thank you so much for this video! My machine was stuck on sensing and wouldn’t start washing. Maytag wanted to charge me $355 for a service. I followed your directions exactly, found a cracked valve and replaced it ($25) and now my washer is working again. Amazing!
Wow, that is an outrageous price. I'm glad you got it fixed!
Thank you for the video. I absolutely hate this washer. Spent so much on it and it won’t fill with water or get thru a cycle!
I have a Samsung similar to this one and man did this video help. Much appreciated! I replaced mine about an hour ago and the steps 9:25 were the same. 🎉
Opened my unit. Found the crack. Ordered the parts and waiting. Thanks brother!
Nice! Easy repair! Well done!
Thank you for this video my husband and I just fixed our washer thank you thank you ❤❤🎉🎉
Thank you for making my Saturday fix easy! 🤘
You bet!
These new washer & dryers have so much technical difficulties? Technology def wasn’t an improvement… makes me just want the old ones that were simple and didn’t always need to call some expert and make an appointment? Just for the same crap to happen over and over with them… 😪 Thank u for getting right to the main issues with this video.
Thank you so much for this video! Apparently, my machine has always had the issue of a partially clogged inlet valve, because now the water is really flowing into the washer.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! 🙏
@slulions07 awesome! Glad I could help!
This video was great! Fixed my problem. Thank you so much for taking the time to make it
Great to hear!
This just happened to us with this same washer. The basket would spin slowly and not fill with water. We were able to “half” wash a load on the Clean cycle, which uses really hot water. Then it would display LF when it was time to spin and drain. We would turn the power off and run a spin-only cycle, no rinse. It got us by for a couple weeks, but the clothes were a bit soapy.
Turns out, one of my kids’ toddler-sized socks had slipped under the agitator and was blocking water flow. The washer “passed” the sock this morning, it was in the laundry tub and gross with dirt and debris. The washer is fine now. I wanted to share in case anyone else with an LF error also happened to wash small pieces of clothing.
Great video! My solenoids check out good. Thinking this is now a motherboard problem. Do you agree?
Thanks!
No problem!
Those inlet filters absolutely do come out for cleaning
How did u do it?
A pair of pliers will pull them out. Done it many times.👍
It worked! Thank you so much for the info
I've had so many problems with this low fill thing. Bought washer 2018, keeps happening. Took out the blue and red screens and cleaned them, I had well water and thought they were clogged. They pull out, used a dental pick, tweezers, and a nail fole thing. Fixed for awhile bur now acting up again, no well water. Thanks 4 the info. Piece of crap. Liked the old washers better.
It's probably worth a shot to replace the valves. The part should show you up in the video as a pop uo
I also was able to pull the red and blue screens out with a pair of pliers, they needed it! But there is another spot where the water drops down above the soap drawer and it was clogged up there as well. So try to clean above the soap drawer if you still have issues!
You can take those red and blue water restrictors out. Just pull straight out with a pair of needle nose. Behind' those is another plastic white screen. That also pulls straight out.
You can remove the filters with needle nose pliers. Pulls right off. Those are sold separately as well.
Very good explanation. Thank you.
You are welcome!
Thank you for this video. I have to replace that inlet valve on my machine. Where should i order it from?
I believe there should be a link in the description of the video. If not, you can also search Amazon using the part number on your old valve
@@DuctTapeMechanicI couldn’t find the link in the description.
Good stuff, thanks!
Hey, I replaced mine a couple months ago, it’s doing the same thing again. Will it be the same problem?
It's possible. Perhaps you just got a bad part. It happens...
I have a maytag bravos MVWX655DW1. The water inlet valves work, but it doesn't fill up with enough water. I had to add about five gallons of water. Is there any fix for that issue?
These things don't use much water. Probably should not fill it with more water.
Yes I know. However, the water level was well below the clothing. Most of the clothing wasn't getting wet.
@@Twerp70 Remove the filters (blue and red) and it filled up.
@@leescoto ok thanks
Did you figure out how to fix yours? Having the same problem
How can you pull the screens out before replacing the entire assembly? I can’t seem to pull them out, needless to say nose pliers can’t get a good grip
screens don't come out unfortunately. they make it like that so you have to replace the whole valves
@@eloyd82I was able to get mine out. I used a flat blade screwdriver to pry it out enough to get ahold of it with a pair of pliers. Pulled right out. Then there is a secondary screen behind the blue and red one that pulls out also
@alextanner8718 - correct and leave them out. I just did this and use bedding setting and I get over half the drum filled with water. Before that my clothes just sat in a puddle. Now they are swimming. Deep water setting didn’t even go past the washer plate. I hate this thing but I can live with it now until it breaks.
Yes you can I just heard him say you can't take them out thank you so much
What is the purple wire for? Mine has a different harness and inlet valve but I have same washer. Just bought a new oem inlet valve and realized I'm missing the purple wire and clip. ??
Not exactly sure (perhaps for the steam feature). But if you ordered the part number based on your old valve, you should be good to go.
Make more videos on this washer please!🙏🏼 I’m having issues with mine
Yes! I plan on doing a few more videos on this one!
If only the cold water valve has cracks, would it be wise to replace both valves?
@terrymacklin434 Yes, it's easiest to just replace both. It comes as one unit anyways
My washer sometimes fill with water and omsometimes it doesn't, but this only happens with cold water. What could be? The cold water filter looks clean.
Could be water valve is sticking. I recommend replacing it. They are cheap
What if its filling up with water at a certain point
How much are those valves to replace
I just replaced the valve as instructed and now the drum barely moves while in wash. Any idea why?
Is that what it was doing before?
Thank you thank you very helpful
You're welcome!
I have a maytag bravo xl machine that keeps filling with water and draining, would you know why that happens?
i have one like this should it fill with just cold line on all cold doesn't fill
Sounds like bad valves. Replace them
@@DuctTapeMechanic you have a part number I didn’t see it on video and thanks I’m a new sub now big help
Thanks man!!
You bet!
You definitely want to use some silicone grease or something some kind of lube to use on those three ports facing downwards because that rubber will stick on that plastic and it will cause a leak
Not real familiar with multi meters when I set it to 200 ohms it reads OL when checking valves, but when set at 2k it reads 1.016
Yes, that means the valves are about 1k ohms of resistance. Which means they are most likely electronically ok
Where the link ?
I ordered a new I let valve and it after a few runs tue cold water valve is dried, so I switched the coils water hose and wire to the hot water side of the inlet valve and for now it works, but these parts are Junk! I got this one on Amazon and I can’t get my money back…this is a racket
I did not see you check for a clogged filter on the first two parts.
Yes, this machine does not have inlet filters that can be removed. I did check the inlet for debris. If it is clogged, you can try to clean, but if that doesn't work, you have to replace the valves.
Mine is turing on but not starting. Any ideas
You need to turn the main nozzle for codes there’s videos on yt
Thank you! Liked and sub
Thanks for the sub!
Thank you!!!!!!!
@@JoshuaHabermehl-nd5yt you're welcome!
Mine keeps refilling and not completing the cycling
Sounds lilies an issue with the pressure hose....
@DuctTapeMechanic thank you. I believe my husband changed the pressure hose. I will double-check with him. Enjoy your day.
I HATE these new washers!! Junk!!!!
Mine doesn't fill enough to was anything but a small load
I had my handyman replace the valve, but it didn't fix the problem. Any ideas?
Best thing to do is put it into diagnostic mode and see what error codes you get
Me again. Mine has started up by itself 3 times now. Have to unplug it. Anyone else, or is mine haunted?
Your audio level is a little low
I am working on getting a professional mic
4:09 Push like so proceeds to block the camera view damnnnnnn
It’s a little metal clip coming through a hole. You’re just pushing the clip out of its hole. With upper back plate is removed you can see the clips.
