Hello , we are a 68 and 70 year old couple who wants to thank you so much for taking the time to make this most helpful video.... we have had our Maytag Commercial Washer Model #MVWB765FWO for abt 4 years bought in 2017...we were having the very same problem as you were , so first thing we came to RUclips to see if anyone had any videos about our model washer to see if anyone else had the same problem and what they did. We found your video and though a different model # the washers were very similar...so we sat down and watched everything you did oh, gosh it was so easy to follow along ....our top was a little bit harder because the spring you were supposed to push on with the table knife was way far back....we finally got it though. we bought and downloaded the service manual ....and you demonstrating the getting it into service mode and out of the mode to test was so helpful.....so we ordered our part and it got here really fast...we watched the video again (we're old):) before we started , then started in today.... Oh man it's all fixed and washing a load as I type.... the hot water was what was broken on ours....whew ! We know if it had not been for this video, we could not have fixed it ourselves and it would have cost us a lot of money to call a repairman....then we would have had to wait till he had an opening ,while my dirty clothes pilled up ,till we had to go to a laundry mat...Then sometimes they have to order the part. Thank you for thinking to, and taking the time to put this video on here.... It Helped us so much . A Grandpa and Grandma in Kentucky
Hi Susie---I am having problems with my washer filling extremely slowly. So, like you I started looking on youtube. My washer is exactly like yours I think---just a number or letter difference #MVWB865GW0. I am on the website where he found his manual and am trying to find the one specifically for my machine. You mentioned you purchased a service manual. Did you find the exact one for your machine or just use the one he purchased? Thanks a million for your response to this if you have time. Jesus bless.
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. Within 10 hours of watching your video, my 10 y/ o son & I had the washer apart, problem diagnosed, replacement part ordered and installed. It couldn't have been any easier, just clicked the link you conveniently included. $21
I want to THANK-YOU!!! I’m a recently divorced mother of 17 yr old twins who put out a ton of dirty laundry…and because of this video…I fixed my own washing machine!!! Thank-You from the bottom of my heart!!!
If you are still around on RUclips. I just wanna thank you for this video. Fixed up my washer. Literally was about to buy a new one. Again I thank you!
I just used this video to save lots of $$$ in repair bills. After getting the LF shut down in the middle of the wash cycle, I went looking for answers. The video is AWESOME. I installed the new water valve yesterday and this crappy washing machine is back in action for $30 from Amazon.
Found this while waiting for service people to return our calls - I ordered the part as suggested here and 30 minutes of labor - we are back in business!! thanks very much for your assistance on fixing our relatively new (5 years) Maytag washer for under $40.
Holy potatoes, this is the washer I just inherited with my new house and and this is EXACTLY what is happening with it. Because your instructions were so clear, I was able to test the washer without taking anything apart and it is indeed the #2 hot valve. Wish me luck!
Thanks for the super useful diagnostics info! I have almost the same model and am already having one or more issues. It had some intermittent leaking down the back below the water valve body. Then is started taking about an hour to fill up. I replaced the water valve yesterday, finally. It did one successful load all the way through. Next load, buzzing from the water valve area, and stopping the cycle with 30 minutes left. Did a drain and spin to take the clothes out. That worked. Fast forward to today - I found this video and ran the tests. I actually started running all of them, and once I reached test no. 50 or 51, it goes through ALL of the water valves, all of the motor tests and drain tests. Pretty cool! Just a tip to pass along. All of the tests passed, btw. Then, I ran a test load, and the soap tray was out. Also, not many clothes. It made it all the way through fine! My wife tried a legit load after that, and it errored out midway again, this time throwing an "LF" code on the lcd. That code in itself is another can of worms. Did we all get so unlucky on this particular maytag or is quality dropping in general?
Howdy! Given this is going to be the highest viewed video in the shortest time period on my channel, I believe we are seeing a reduction in quality based on building stuff to a profit point. The cheap chinesium valves are just one example of the lowest bidder getting the contract. Unfortunately, in today's market, the only way to keep making money is to have repeat customers. The old Bored Maytag Repairman schtick is not at all profitable these days. Thanks!
Thank you so much for taking the time to post this very helpful video. The way you explained are very clear, especially the steps how to pry the panel up. I could not fix the hot water problem without your video. Thank you again, Mr. Rose.
THANK YOU SOOOOOO MUCH for posting this! Following your lead, we paid $15 for the service manual, ran through the diagnostics the same way you did, and were able to fix our machine without having to spend another dollar. You saved us hundreds of dollars, a lot of time, and I was able to get the laundry done on my day off!!!
I love the special tool. I went out and paid over $100 to purchase one. Knowing modern appliances I know I will get years of use. Also, great for spreading stuff on bread. Thanks!😆
Aaron, thank you for the information. My sweet in-laws are having problems with their washing machine and found this video. They have plenty of the "special tools"😂, but they're wondering exactly where they can get the manual you were referring to. Thank you!

This video was SOOOOOO helpful! I followed it exactly and had ZERO issues repairing my washer. Saved me a huge service repair cost and I feel like I can conquer the world after fixing something myself! ☺️. I appreciate it so much!
Just had a scam repairman quote me $700 for a new control board when I called about a long fill error code. Told him I had to do more research. Found your video, and was able to self diagnose that the hot valve was faulty not the entire control board. Now got a part on the way from Amazon. Thanks you saved me a bunch of cash
Thank you thank you!! When I popped the top control panel off (thank you for the butter knife trick) I noticed one of the solenoids was cracked. Low and behold after doing the test in your video it was the same one that was messed up! Ordered the part - got here in a day and now I have a working washer again! Thanks for taking the time to make this video!
Very clear and concise instructions made this fix a breeze. 1/2 hour tops, start to finish. I think the test procedure explained was the most useful as I didn’t want to remove the top to get the technician manual. Thanks again!
Thank you Sir! Even though our washer is under warranty, repair was scheduled 8 days away. Previous experience tells me that even then they will probably have to order the part and additional days. Thank you for the helpful video, much appreciated!
Hi there! I just wanted to say thank you. My Maytag bravo XL was also giving me the the same LF error. At one point, I was considering throwing away my washer and purchasing a new one until I found your video. I went on Amazon and found the water inlet valve piece and I made sure that it was compatible with my Maytag. I ordered it and Hallelujah the piece came in the mail… I showed my brother your video and he was able to successfully install the device. As soon as he confirmed the piece was switched .. I tested the washer and it now works properly. Before the flow of cold water was very low and it would cause my washer to shut down. I just want to say thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Coming from a single mom of 3, I greatly appreciate you and my brother (since he completed the physical labor for free lol). God bless you.
Thank you so much for this video!! We have been having issues with our washer for a year. And It’s only 3 years old. At first we could still wash loads on warm and hot but cold didn’t work. We did exactly what you said and found out the cold wasn’t working. We ordered the part on Amazon and got it in 2 days later. I couldn’t wait to try this out. I followed you with each step and we were able to fix it and it’s working better then ever!!! I can’t thank you enough sir! Thank you very much for this Alaina detailed video!
Thank you! I managed to save money from this video. The repairman wanted $139 just for diagnostics... The piece only costed $30 for me and it was a quick fix. I hope you have a blessed day.
Thank you SO much for this step by step video. This was what was wrong with my Maytag washer as well. My husband isn’t much of a fix it man so with your help, I was able to do it myself!
Omg thank YOU!!! I can't even tell you how grateful I am for your clear, easy, concise help! You're awesome! Thank you! *update! Ordered the exact part you linked, followed your instructions and I'm back in business, doing laundry for a family of 5. Yay! Whoa! Those clips were wicked tight! That way the only hard part
Thank you so much-your video was so simple and straight forward. We were able to do repair it ourselves and it saved us a ton of money! Washer works like a champ now 🎉
Thank you so much!!! Everything worked and put problem was resolved. Only issue was we broke our paneling a bit when trying to pry the panel off where the spring was. Nothing some super glue can’t fix! 😀 thanks again!
Thank you for posting this video and for your helpful explanation. I had the same problem w/my washing machine and I was able to repair it b/c of your excellent video. You saved me money and many other people!
I am so grateful for your instructions, Mr. Rose, and for your link they took me right to the part I needed. You are providing a wonderful service for people. We are saving money and for people like my family who live in the country, it’s often hard to even get a repair person to come. Thanks so very much!
Thank you so much for this video!!!! I had watched another video but they didn’t really show how to get those springs popped. Your video was perfect!! Thanks again!!
Kudos and thanks so much, Aaron!. Everything was just as you showed, except my slightly different model would not go into test mode. I just decided to replace the inlet anyway and the problem was solved. My wife sends her thanks also 🙂
Thanks I followed your instructions. Mine was faulty on to cold intake and I did à quick test by blowing in the valves. Seems that the hot intake, you can easily blow air in it, but the cold side was totally blocked. I huffed and puffed until I got air flowing like on the hot side.
Hi and thank you so much. I did this and sure enough my inlet Valve was bad. Not sure what happened cuz it washed fine once and then it now goes sensing, then to wash and back to sensing repeats and then done. No water coming in. Thanks karen
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this video. Ours was having the water come in so slow and giving us the "LF" error code. Thought I would try to fix it myself and came across your video. I found the replacement part on Amazon and was able to replace easily with the help of your video. Now water is flowing in as normal and no error code. THANKS AGAIN!
I’m experiencing the same problem, but with the cold water flow. My Maytag is 3 year’s old. Where do I go to download the manual? I will tackle this tomorrow. I already checked the small filter. Plumber recommended I change the connector hose. He charges $140 just to come out. Hope I can fix it. Glad I found your video!
I'm guessing that part will work in mine. It's a very similar maytag I haven't pulled the face plate off yet but used your diagnostic test mode and found my hot aint workin to good. Should be good to go ahead and order the valve pack right?
Thank you so much for this knowledge. I just ordered my second valve. The last valve only lasted 6 months and has failed again. Plumber removed sediment water filter when he put in the water softner. I think it is the sediment that is killing my valves. Thank you again, I am getting me one of those fancy tools to remove the top cover. Mine is cracked fro the the orginal removal.
thank you for making this video, especially the how to put it in diagnostic mode. could then confirm the cold water solenoid and get the replacement part ordered. got it installed and everything works. the butterknife tip worked well too.
Thanks, fixed a Bravos XL with your videos help. It's crazy that, that washer is less than 2 years old and the hot valve went out. Then after doing about 3 loads on cold only, the cold valve also failed.
Great video! I was curious...I didn't see you check the water line filter plugs inside the water ports on the old valve. Were they known to be OK or did I miss your doing this?
I checked my discharge pump it was found cleared what I did find is the hot water inlet screen was restricted with debris from metal rust I guess the hot water side for some reason rust more quickly than the cold, I cleared out and now it works fine, thank you for your well spoken instructions
Wow thanks for this video, Just putting mine into service mode allowed to mess around with the different functions and I was able to get my washer running again
Thank you so much for making this video. It came in handy this past week when ours showed the LF code. Thanks to you it was a easy fix and a cheap fix from Amazon.

My 10 year warranty model W11156983B is only 3 years old, thank goodness. I've had this fault go off periodically since day one and just couldn't be bothered to call but now it is happening almost weekly. Thanks for the video but I'm going to make some calls first, let's see how good the warranty is.
Love your video, so far I tested the machine and looks like it’s my cold water valve. Now I just need to order this replacement. Fingers crossed but hopeful.
Has your washer ever stopped in the middle of a wash cycle and shut off? That has happened to me a few times, especially after stopping it during operation to add a few items and to let it resume. Thanks
I've not seen that specifically except when it developed the LF fault and stopped. But I don't think it shut off when it did that. I don't add items too often, so if that is confusing the unit, I haven't tested that sequence often. Thanks!
@@aaronsrose Aaron, I followed the video and replaced the valve and still no water ....could it be the circuit board? I hear a faint click, almost like a relay.. Great video and thx for your help
That is insane, and why all the jobs are moving overseas. Any educated dedicated service person could diagnose the problem in 5 minutes, replace in 10 minutes. The biggest time suck is the round trip to the house, which might be 2 trips if they don't have the part. Assuming that you live in the city, 8x minimum wage is $64 per hour with a maximum time of 2 hours. $150 max labor and $60 for the part, at a 2x markup to cover tools, vehicle wear, gas, misc. Any business should be able to cover overhead, marketing, book keeping, maintenance, downtime, scheduling conflicts, and skilled labor at 8 times minimum wage.

Really important to add that you need to push DOWN with the butter knife. Video had me moving knife from left to right and searching for clamp. I did some damage to the face of the control panel. Finally figured it out by watching another video. Thanks.
Just an FYI, the tech manual is located in the machine itself and includes all the test modes and procedures. Mine was located on the inside of the upper left hand corner. Lift the lid and look inside.

Thanks for the video. Have you tried switching the hot water valve wires to the oxy valve for a temporary fix? Prime is getting loose on 2 day delivery promises.
Thanks! I did consider that but the wires would not reach. I thought about adding a jumper, but figured it would be annoying. So I just used cold water wash for a while until the new valve arrived.
My cold water main solenoid was the problem so I switched the wires because I don’t ever use the oxy or softener functions and it works just fine thanks for the video it helped
I would like to know why a solenoid valve stops working. I checked the resistance on all 4 solenoids and they were all about 1k ohms. My water quality is excellent so that's not a problem. What is that other wire connection at the bottom of the manifold? I'll have to call tech support. I don't want this to be a recurring issue but there's probably nothing you can do about it. Foreign junk!
@@bradvincet1848 Best guess, is that the plunger that the coil moves when it is energized got something behind it or in the track it rides in. Thinking about it, I should've torn mine apart to see why it stuck. When mine fails again, I'll cut it open and see what happened. Thanks!
I would like to know that as well since this is the second time it has happened to me. I thought about opening the first one but just got to busy with other things. I am going to order another another part to replace this one very soon. I will cut it open and respond with what my findings are.
For those struggling to get the connectors off, I took a tiny flathead and put it on the top of the connector where it looks like a white "T" and tapped on the end of the screwdriver. Only thing that worked to get those off. Wiggling wasn't cutting it.
@@AN-kg4ei yes the solenoid piece that is shown didn’t look like anything as wrong so for $35 we got a new one, replaced it and haven’t had a bit of trouble!

Thank you so much! Felt really good not having to call a repair guy!
thank you for making this video, especially the how to put it in diagnostic mode. could then confirm the cold water solenoid and get the replacement part ordered. got it installed and everything works. the butterknife tip worked well too.
We were able to fix our washer thanks to you! Ordered the part on Amazon. Works great now! Thanks again!
Thank you for making/uploading this video. For $40 bucks, I got my washer working again!
Your video deserves many comments.
THANK YOU! This was plenty informative and helpful.
Very helpful, fixed my issue with the exact same symptoms. Low flow, hot water pump failure. The process was as quick as you showed it.
Switched the connectors for the hot and cold until the part comes in! Thank you so much for this!
Glad to help!
Howdy! I did look at them when I removed the lines initially, but they were clear so I forgot to mention that in the video. Thanks!
I checked my discharge pump it was found cleared what I did find is the hot water inlet screen was restricted with debris from metal rust I guess the hot water side for some reason rust more quickly than the cold, I cleared out and now it works fine, thank you for your well spoken instructions
Thank you so much for the instructions to do this!! Tested, ordered the part, and installed. Ready to catch up on laundry!!
Great video explaining everything, seemed to fix the problem.....ordered the same part....you saved me a lot if money. Thanks so much!!!!
Wow thanks for this video, Just putting mine into service mode allowed to mess around with the different functions and I was able to get my washer running again
Followed his video and fixed my LF error code. Probably saved me a couple hundred dollars, Thanks
Sir, you are awesome. Thank you for making this. The exact issue I am having. Ordering the part now.
Thank you so much for making this video. It came in handy this past week when ours showed the LF code. Thanks to you it was a easy fix and a cheap fix from Amazon.
would you please tell me where did you get the "Technician service manual" at, I would really like to get one. Loved the video by the way, thanks.

That's where I found it. Lots of ads on the site but it eventually worked. Thanks!
Got it, downloaded it, perfect. You are awesome, I do really appreciate your help, Thank you.
The part came in today and just installed it and it WORKED!!! Happy to do my laundry again😊 Thank you again.
Thanks for a great video! I was able to fix our washing machine with your guidance! Really appreciate it and saved us some time and money!!
Thank you for making this video, I fixed my washer following it.
Thank you for uploading this. Saved so much money doing the repair myself
Thanks Aaron, saved us about $250 with the repairman.
Glad to help!
Wow!!!!!!!! I just followed you step by step and it worked
Thanks to you I fixed my washing machine all by myself !!!!! I never thought I could do it!!!! Thanks so much!!!’n ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Glad to help!
Thanks for the video!! I have a valve unit on order. The service mode information was VERY helpful! Oh, and the butter knife worked like a champ!!
Awesome video. Just paid someone $500 last year to change the valve assembly. Got one this time for $14
That is insane, and why all the jobs are moving overseas.
Thanks for this video! Very detailed! Only hard part for me was popping off the control panel, ended up using a spatula
Where did you get the info paper work in the video?
Thank you,
Mike C

Thanks for the video! Mine had the same issue and i was able to fix it. Saved me at least $200 dollars.
Oh man thank you so much for this. Saved me a lot of Time and money!! Perfect.
Thank you so much for your knowledge and very kind of you for being willing to share. . I am so grateful.🙏💝
Hi Aaron, thanks! Where did you get the service manual? I've been looking online and can't find it.

@@aaronsrose thank you!!
Really important to add that you need to push DOWN with the butter knife. Video had me moving knife from left to right and searching for clamp. I did some damage to the face of the control panel. Finally figured it out by watching another video. Thanks.
What did you use to get the plugs off
They were tough. I just wiggled and pulled until the disconnected. Thanks!
Just an FYI, the tech manual is located in the machine itself and includes all the test modes and procedures. Mine was located on the inside of the upper left hand corner. Lift the lid and look inside.
Best video on this model yet!
Just replaced this valve thanks to your video. Thanks a million!
I need a manual also. Can you provide a link?? Thx!!

Thanks for showing the special tool. Is there a way to get the screen out with out breaking it?
Just did this a few minutes ago, the 5 screws can also come off using a 1/4" nut driver
Thanks so much. I’ve been looking for days and this was just the right video. Our valve worked so we are on to the next figure it out!
did you fix it? My pump and solenoids work and hoses are clear. I think it's a sensor maybe....
@@AN-kg4ei yes the solenoid piece that is shown didn’t look like anything as wrong so for $35 we got a new one, replaced it and haven’t had a bit of trouble!
@@amyfox3442 I replaced the inlet valve when I fixed mine. I ended up repairing the old one and keeping for a spare. Thanks!
That fixed it! There was a lot of corrosion on the bottom wire, which was probably the whole problem.
