    (but then again, pretty much ALL Morrigan dialogue is very good! Bravo Claudia Black!)

    I used to find Morrigan fiery and desirable. Now that I'm a bit older, I only see angst bait. I think Wynne's right about Morrigan's personality, that is unless Morrigan grows more as a person.

      She grew more as a person in Inquisition, especially if you romance her and have a child with her, still sassy at times, but a lot more mature. In Origins though, she really just an angry swamp girl who was raised by a terrible mother
      Still best romance choice because of her character development in the next games

      Taking into context the only person she had actual meaningful contact with, Flemeth, you can understand why she’s like that. Her mother was awful and she definitely indoctrinated Morrigan.

      Mainly because she takes her words to heart on some level and also the Warden ends up influencing and molding her. She fully intended for the warden and even the child to be another tool but at some point that just became pretense and she adored both. She simply grew beyond the person she was here.

    Morrigan really grows between Origins and Inquisition. Like, she never loses her sense of self, but her personality does soften and she becomes more... well, likeable. That being said, outside of her interactions with the Warden, she just comes off as a bitch with the other companions. Guess age, and her son softened her.

    Wynne was a character I liked when I was younger, now I find her extremely distasteful. Behind the kind grandma personality, she keeps proselitizing on Morrigan for a system Morrigan has no interest in, just because she thinks every mage should follow it. She is hypocritical and in the books she is even worse and even only in Origins she has an habit of pushing unwanted judgement on every companion and accuses Morrigan of being a Maleficar and evil when Morrigan hasn't done anything to her. (Sure, Morrigan probably wouldnt give a shit about being labelled a Maleficar, nor she has problems with blood magic, but Wynne has no reason to think Morrigan is one and when we meet Morrigan is worth to notice that she is not one and she even has more skills in herbalism than poison, when you would expect the contrary). Sure Morrigan is a bit rude in her answers, but Morrigan is a young woman who is discovering the world right now and suffered a bad childood under Flemeth. If I had a bunch of people coming to me and telling me i'm evil because I don't live like them, which is basically what Wynne does here, I would tell them to f off too. Wynne may be a mage, but between accusing Morrigan with no proof, trying to get everyone from Morrigan to her ex apprentice to join the Circle and calling all apostates evil she is basically acting more as a Templar than Alistair himself does

    • @rejvaik00
      @rejvaik00 8 месяцев назад +5

      She's also being possessed by a spirit of wisdom so she's going to try and spout off all the wisdom she's gained to her better or her detriment regardless of the situation
      Much like how Cole was constantly spouting off all his compassion again to his better or detriment regardless of the situation

    • @chavzone
      @chavzone 2 месяца назад +4

      @@rejvaik00 I don't think that's a fair comparison. Wynne is certainly too quick to judge with Morrigan, but does genuinely want her to mature and improve as a person. You can also see that Morrigan does take what Wynne says seriously, even if she disagrees. Her apprehension towards Morrigan is understandable and the product of many years of experience - as well as conditioning from the Circle and a knowledge of history - to be wary of rogue apostates. Morrigan isn't a maleficar, but she is certainly young and reckless, which is a dangerous combination as a powerful mage.
      Cole on the other hand is an insufferable waterspout that constantly vomits people's private thoughts and memories out loud. His concept is cool, but it's presented in such a dislikeable way and with such an obnoxious degree of social r*t*rdation that nearly everyone quite rightfully resents and shuns him, except of course Solas. Cole is like the world's most incompetent and unprofessional therapist: he has no sense of direction nor any idea why he asks the questions he does, and he is determined to share all your secrets to the whole world. This is quite the opposite of Wynne, who while judgemental, is thoughtful and incisive with her comments, and is ultimately driven by benevolence and good intentions.

    wynne is one of my faves. sure, her moral grandstanding and overall preachiness can be a bit annoying, more so if ur not someone nice or caring like morrigan tends not to be, but outside of that she is rly caring of others n funny, n she is vry much a motherly type always giving a listenin ear n shoulder 2 cry on. it makes sense that her sympathetic n nurturing nature fits into her healr role. she is like leliana if leliana didn't immaturely argue lyin n manipulation r ok, and shes a more mature version of leliana if leliana hadn't spent her life b4 religion harassin guard captain eams and doing malicious and nefarious criminal things, also proving her vapidness by being ok with thieving wit Marjolaine only 2 turn round n shoot herself in the foot by opposing the manipulator Marjolaine by grandstanding against treason, ironically n hypocritically.
