Vivienne was a character who I never understood the fan animosity towards. She's powerful, classy, and arrogant in a way that she can back up (thus making this quality endearing). She also has unique insight into mage politics and her personal quest is a mission to give the man she loves a final comfort before his death. I often disagreed with her, but I thought she was amazing!
Shes classy but clasist, her policies as devine re-establish the status quo between mages and templars without adressing the systematic problems that lead to the mage uprising in the first place. Tho, she does provide interesting and meaningful opposing political views to my own, i wouldnt want her as a leader
@@user-lv8vn8kq8r The thing I most find obnoxious about her is that she is the typical "pick me"/I got mine, fuck you." SHE doesn't have any problems with templars, her boyfriend is a member of the council of heralds, making him part of the stratosphere of Orlesian politics. That gives her an enormous boost of power. She is also a member of the Empress' personal court, launching herself into the stratosphere of Orlesian politics. One letter to her boyfriend, one whisper to Celene, and her problems simply evaporate like snow before a summer's sun. Vivienne does not have any problems with the traditional circle, Since she wasn't required to be IN ONE. She has no problem lecturing her fellow mages on their perceived problems, since she doesn't get them and she needs to attack the mages in every argument since she needs her protectors to know that she is on their side. I find her deeply loathable for that.
Same. I think it has to do with people now a days not being able to except people with diverging perspectives. They see things as black and white so when presented with a person who challenges this they just default to thinking their evil and just lying. Vivian is a selfish B though, just not completely.
what is she if not a matriarch? From that first interaction, you can tell the moment Bull figures out The Dynamic, and he slots into place like a proper qunari
I think it's because Bull is actually fully receptive to her criticism and suggestions. Solas is a rogue mage and understandably dismissive of her and Dorian and her openly tell you it's mostly harmless banter, they could be far nastier. Cole is a spirit, she went through the harrowing, she has good reason to not like beings from the fade. She's been taught to be afraid and mistrusting of them since childhood.
Iron Bull is maybe the LEAST barbaric character, imo. Sure, he's a damage dealing beast, but he's also shown over and over to be smart, observant, adaptable, and is the companion with the most self-restraint of them all. He never loses his temper, and he tailors his behavior to match whomever he's interacting with.
He says it in one of the Banters( 2:10 ). She reminds him of the "Tamassrans" who are the Priests and de-facto ruler of the Qun. They take the role of Teachers and Healers in the Qun and are like mothers since Qunari dont get raised by their Parents but by the Tamassrans. Vivienne is rather tall (high heals) and her Headgear looks like horns.
I thought it was unexpectedly realistic. He's a soldier and she likes to give orders, he's a highly intelligent spy yet nothing gets past her. She's probably the only one who intimidates him, too.
I love how he’s consistent with calling her ma’am.
Vivienne and IronBull surprised me as a friendship. She treats him like a child and loves him. He brings out the best of her. 😀

This exactly, I thought she was one of the best developed characters of all the companions in DAI. Super layered and badass to boot

a year late but i agree, though i don't agree with her, most of the time she offers great knowledge, she's also a huge bitch and i love that
an unexpected relationship but i love it
Queen Vivienne will always respect anyone who respects her back. (She kinda says it to Dorian.)

At least with Vivienne, Iron Bull gets to see how it feels to be Dorian and completely dominated.
Iron bull is a service top of I'm not mistaken.
@@benjeesilv1596what does that mean?
I love how she always says, “Thank you, Darling”, like she’s scolding her kid. 😂
She always reminds me as someone’s aunty.
I do not like Vivienne but she and bull have some of the best banter in the game
It honestly makes me feel a little sad. It’s almost like his superior in the Qun telling him what to do without actually telling him what to do.
@@shaunbowen3308 shed fit right in. Well after they fix the bitchy political scheme side of her that is
I love Vivienne, she’s a brilliant and severely underrated character who is often mislabeled
@@squares4u she is a great character, I still do not like her
2024 and Vivienne is still best ally
It totally makes sense why he treats her with respect, she reminds him of the Tamasarans
He's also very adept reading people. He defenetly has her figured out and is going along.
Vivienne is so cool and classy
unexpectedly awesome
I LOVE Vivienne. she's my bestie in every playthrough
I love how Bull was legit like "wtf is with your horn hat?" lol 😂 that's a question I used to have the first time I saw her too
It was just inspired by Maleficent.
9:20 he has one eye Vivienne, cut him some slack.
I find SO WIERD that Vivienne is not making nasty coments on the most barbaric character, but picks on Solas Cole and Dorian as if they were beasts
LMAO RIGHT EXACTLY She is so MEAN SPIRITED to everyone but with Varric, Cassandra and ESPECIALLY IronBull Is so wholesome.

Ok why was this so cute??
What is she, his mother? 😂

Child mother relation ship is cringe but rest is interesting.
Especially when The Iron Bull pointed out that Orlais doesn’t work well with the nobles and their Game. Possible nod to Trespasser.
