You didn't even get a choice to agree with Varric on the last one. The Inquisitor just went with it.

Every Inquisition video I watch makes me think of everything the other games set up that Veilguard ignored completely. We never see the Tevinter described in Inquisition. I expected to infiltrate this depraved mages playground and do battle with high level Magisters but Docktown is just a reskinned Denerim where we fight random street thugs and henchmen. We don't even come close to the seats of power that we were charged with disrupting in the beginning of the game.

The writers of DAI described Solas as a mirror to whoever he's talking to. He doesnt so much project as reflect - if you give him humility, he'll reflect it. But come at him with ego? The dread wolf comes out

I find it incredibly ironic that Solas essentially fathered the entire concept of mage circles when he separated the fade from the world with the veil. To protect normal people from magic, spirits, and tyrannical elven deities he created the veil as a literal prison to contain them because they were too dangerous and problematic. So hearing Vivienne try to debate him on how great and necessary the circle is, was probably a bit funny to him. Literally like looking in a mirror and seeing how silly you look. Also when he said he'd punish mages who harmed people and Vivienne rhetorically joked that he'd have to be immortal to do that. Clever bit of forshadowing there. Her condescending nature has her say so many ignorant things as a joke that end up being completely on the mark.

I feel like I'm the only person who genuinely enjoys Vivienne. I think she's secure, intelligent, thoughtful, progressive, and assertive. I'm surprised everytime I see someone rage about her, or talk about wanting to "call her on her bullsht" but I seriously don't know where they think she's gone wrong??
