I heard this song when I was a bouncer in clubs in NYC in the 1980's. I loved it. But over time, I couldn't remember the title or who it was by. I always kept watch for 35+ years for the name of this song and who performed it..until tonight! I even heard it as soundtrack during the last Super Bowl right before a commercial break. I'm glad it finally found me!
In New York, I worked the door at the Ritz, Limelight, the Palladium, Danceteria, The Copacabana, Latin Quarter, and The Lone Star Cafe. The women were unbelievable-looking in either rockabilly, punk, club, or dance dress, the scene was tremendous, the clubs were *huge for the most part, and the best bands I saw out of all I did see at those clubs were, surprisingly, Joe Cocker, Nina Hagen, and Wilson Pickett (and I'm a hard core rocker!). @@SpiritusMundi4EVER
I was 9yo when my parents took me to see The Cult at the Cow Palace in San Francisco in 1987. I remember every moment from panties flying, girls (and guys) running on stage naked, the huge f’kn mosh pit, and Ian trashing the drum set! My ears are still ringing 35 years later…
What an amazing performance and energy. Ian is 25 here and looks out of it. His voice sounds fucked - still rocking today. The Cult are one of the greats from the 80s
Playing this song in my car in 1986, aged 22, I felt I totally owned my life, my world, my girls, everything. I am not sure what would that mean today, but the 80s were pure joy and energy
Amen brother! I'll never be able to experience that myself, considering I'm from Gen Z, but it brightens my day knowing that there are people out there who got to experience this truly wonderful time period!
Such a kick ass guitar song. They put the bass player on a 6 string rhythm to back up Billy and another guy played bass. This is a rare and decent quality audio and video of the awesome band The Cult!
He had the most beautiful head of hair I've ever seen. His whole persona was electric! There are some things about him that remind me very much of Jim Morrison.
I honestly do not know how I missed The Cult in the 80's and 90's. I love to this day Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and so many more band yet I just recently got into The Cult. They are amazing.

Someone that sounds like they might actually know what Gibson is he playing here? I'm guessing an L4 or L5 Jumbo hollow body for sure. Almost looks like a Tal Farlow, but this has P90's. Any thought?
@@googo151 I'm pretty sure its an L5 CES with P90 "soapbar" pickups in it? L4's had a cut-bottom heel for players wanting to the upper frets with greater access.
This seems so half assed compared to the studio version to me. I know the studio version is the perfect amalgamation of probably hundreds of takes but it it just doesn't seem like he's really "In it". Maybe the better thing to think is they had done this song thousands of times and the grueling schedule and he did the best he could. Thanks THC, you made me re-think this video.

Indeed. They had sound and vision. The passion is palpable.

The Cult is one of those rare bands who have a very unique sound, you know it's them and only them when you hear it.

the entire Brixton show kicks. Always been partial to Jamie Stewart! So fit!
I thisnk it was Kid Chaos on bass for the Electric tour
You do know rhythm and lead guitars are physically the same thing?
Before playing bass in The Cult Jamie Stewart played guitar in the band Ritual.
