I have made this video from the available audio from Ian’s last gig with the band at Birmingham High Halls. I have edited out the only slightly audible vocals before Ian’s mic was turned up in the mix.
This, of course, would have been a Joy Division song par excellence had they managed to record it. This version shows the difference between the JD and NO sound. It is a version that deserves to be heard.

Groovin comeback!!! A great and welcomed return of catchy tunes with balls and musicians with real character and charisma performing catchy tunes with a definite Manc swagger to it all. from 20 plus years earlier and not over produced music and over the top musicians who are trying too hard to be cool and are average. It’s gotta be natural without trying to much to actually be properly cool which doesn’t happen too often. Like the indie groove rock of The Roses and Mondays.

I started listening to the Cult as a youngster between the Electric and Sonic Temple records in the 80's. Immediately I turned as many friends as I could on to them. I've seen them 6 times from 88 through 2 yrs ago and they are still incredible live. 🤘🤘

Saw them at the wharehouse in T O in the mid 80s with Black Sabbath. There was no seats, just a few places around the support pillars and was only about 10 or 12 feet high. Nothing to absorb the insane volume of the bands. I am sure some of my hearing damage occurred that evening. But I wouldn’t trade it for the world
