  • When it comes to picking a putter there can be a huge array of options. Narrowing it down to which head shape, hosel and shaft length can be extremely confusing.
To help you make better decisions equipment expert Hannah Holden met up with Nick Boulton, European Fitting manager at Ping Europe to see how you should be picking a putter.

Not too shabby Hannah. Unlike other sites you have the good sense to let your guest speak uninterrupted. Well done. Very informative and that's why I watch rather than see a bunch of blokes slag each other.

Just bought a 2021 kushin 4, really soft, simple line up line and neck I like.

Fitters and companies seem to disagree about toe hang and misses. I agree with this guy missing left should use toe hang, toe hang putters CLOSE on the way back and OPEN on the way through.
Many people say toe hang closes the putter on the way through but that happens after the stroke.
As I said when I left my 60 degree toe hang putter swing freely it closes back on way back, opens on way through

I've got an ancient Ping Anser 2 that I had to mark the sweet spot on myself! I'm about to be fitted for new clubs, so I guess I could include a new putter.. Let's see what the pro reckons..

Using OG7 just now but have had a few Ping putters in the past. Will no doubt go back to Ping at some point as they are excellent.

very nice vid, went to ping last year and found out 33.5" ideal and strong arc which surprised me so bought Kushin 4 but i always wonder if im missing out (putts) w higher MOI from a mallet as no one makes a strong arc mallet. ;0(

Ping fit me for strong arc but the face balance tomcat is my fav look and high MOI🤦‍♂

Hanna, My favorite English lady!!! For mallet do you think the 2022 spider has better forgiveness than your tyne(seems like a tyne mallet for the better player)? Any big mallet you suggest for a dude that 3 putts 3-5 times a round?

The PLD Tyne is pretty small so definitely more of a players putter. You can't go wrong with a spider but if you want something bigger I would say Odyssey 11 is worth a look!
