Met Johnny backstage at a CS concert a couple years ago. Amazing guy he hung with me and my father the rest of the time we were there. He didn’t have to do that but he did. Thanks Johnny for making my night :)
Wow. Nice demo. I was impressed by the features and the sounds. I've never played drums, so I'd like to get something like these to learn on, and I think my little boy might want to become a drummer, too. I know he would LOVE this kit.
Tad dao105 I have it, it’s actually a very solid kit for the price. However (and I don’t have much experience in the drumming field) even I can tell the kits don’t sound the best. Not to mention it feels quite rickety, and a single bass pedal limits me (being more into deathcore and djent type music). Personally I’d save up a bit more and go for something a bit more reliable, but if you want to save money, this is a pretty solid kit.
@@Taddao105awesome I don't own one but I remember when I was in High school the school had bought one and I was skeptical at first but it actually is not a bad kit the only thing I would say is they are very loud as in the sticks hitting the pads but apart from that, the sounds were pretty good, if you're used to playing on an Acoustic kit it will take some very getting used to. I really liked that it had a Midi out as I ended up using it for a hybrid Acoustic/ Electric for gigs running into Ableton to trigger sound effects and different different drum sounds.

The TD-1 module is great, you can connect it to your computer running Superior Drummer 3 via USB. I am a hobby musician and I am building my custom kit the same way you can put together your own computer. I am puting togother a kit using the TD-1 as the brain and for the rest I am using second hand Roland pads (PDX-100), cymbals, rack (TD 17) and a new kick drum (KD-10).
Thank you so much for these videos, Ur drummers are just great. Ive been trying to find a good drummer using this drumset, and I finally got it. Thanks !
I have had this one four years. Unless you do a bunch of eq, in a sound mixing board, not quite sounding this good. It's fine. I've enjoyed them. Put two bass pedals in series. Lots of fun to play to tunes.
Man, I bought this set based on this video. Now I am stuck with a set that I cannot simply import the audio into a computer. I wish you would have friggin told us "hey, don't try to record with this set". That would have helped save me some money.
Hi 333Lithium333! According to the Roland website: "Upgrade as you improve. If you practice and work hard you’ll improve at an alarming rate, so it’s easy to quickly outgrow a ‘traditional’ beginner kit, meaning you need to spend more money for a new kit. The TD-1K and TD-1KV are designed to grow with you; upgrade the kick pad to use your own acoustic single or double pedal, or upgrade to the KT-10 kick pad for all the feel without the noise. You can even add an extra crash cymbal with the optional OP-TD-1C matching cymbal and mount."
Yeah, you would need to buy a KT-9 pedal pad and then use your double pedal. You can check that on Roland's RUclips channel. There's a video showing that.
+333Lithium333 Unfortunately it doesn't seem to share the feature that the HD-1 and HD-3 have, which turns your hi-hat pedal into a second bass pedal. This would allow you to have a double kick without having to buy a new kick pad and an actual double bass pedal. Even on the low end, that modification would probably run you $250-300.
ijosef I have iron corba double bass on my acoustic set. I wanted to know can I play it also on electronic drums? I dont know how that electronic drums working system :/ thank you for comment.
He looks exactly like that guy from that RUclips video for that super portable Roland drum kit that sounds and functions 4 times more expensive than it looks. They could be brothers. And he just sold me this kit.
After you watch, give this video a thumbs up and subscribe! 😎🤘

Are we not going to acknowledge how groovy of a drummer this man is!? An absolute unit
the percussion kit demo at 5:45 is amazing! Johnny Rabb is such a good player
that drum 'n' bass rhythm was pretty dope.
He put out a whole book with CDs and all... That sample was nothing. Drum and bass I'm referring
As a guitarist, I’m amazed by the cymbal sounds and tech ..
It's amazing you can choke the cymbals on this kit. It used be that only very expensive kits allowed that.
Was thinking the same thing.
This one is super cheap. I'm seriously about to buy it lol
charlie sheen and rob lowe did the fusion dance
WINNING! ...oh, that one's been done. Oh well.
Even his voice sounds like a cross between Charlie Sheen and Rob Lowe.
3:22 he looked like Jason Bateman
starwarp abc live sports
He's the square Henry Rollins!
dang, this kit sounds more realistic than most electronic kits i've ever heard
Yeah i kind of thought he used a program at first like SD3 but off course it was the main programming of the set and yeah this sounds so real
As a person with a TD-9, I kind of disagree. If you customise the sounds you can get even more realistic than the TD-1
Skill of the player.
I have the Roland SPD-SX-PRO. I agree that it does sound quite realistic.
This guy sounds like Charlie sheen
A little bit
Elijah Cassidy yes!!!
i totally thought the same haha,,
Elijah Cassidy WINNING!
nah
I just met him the other day!!! He is a GREAT GUY!!!! He spent the entire time backstage talking to me and my uncle (who's a drummer)!
Lol I’ve talked to him on Instagram a few times 👍🏼

Rabb could make a bucket of dead cats sound really good.
brucethedrummer that’s basically what he did with this kit
touche...
I like to see Chuck Norris battle ole J Rabb!
Braeden Taylor it’s still sounds good tho
Steven Crowder had to find a new career after RUclips tried to shut him down
glad there are other like minded people who share this thought lmao
First thing I thought..damn Louder with Crowder for real.
Thumbnail looks like Crowder spinning plates.
No
All of you really need glasses!
Thank you for trying out all the kits and going into the specific set-up; it is very much appreciated.

all im worried of is the bass pedal

Love the sensibility on this drumset!
This dude is a mix of Henry Rollins and Steven Crowder

Adam Devine and David Schwimmer imho

Money McNasty disgusting

This guys voice is incredible. Is there such thing as a vocal doppelganger?
I love the look he gives the camera at 5:14
Excellent kit for a kid learning to drum. It doesn't make much noise and it sounds great with headphones on

That ride cymbal choke definitely did NOT work.
you have to bend the edge of the cymbal to make it choke, he didn't do that.
Holy crap, once I read the comments all I hear is Charlie sheen
