    Barry Gibb did sing background and harmony on this track. His distinctive voice can clearly be heard. At the time, anything and everything by (or sounding like) the BeeGees was a big hit. Same thing happened with Michael Jackson, Phil Collins, and Michael McDonald to various degrees in later years. Destiny's Child also released a version of this song in 2001 and took it to #10 in the USA and #3 in the UK.

    Samantha Sang was so lucky to have a Bee Gees written song gifted to her. The Bee Gees were on fire in the late 70's.

    • @Ken-vk8pb
      @Ken-vk8pb 2 года назад

      Yes, That is correct that Barry Gibb is the only one doing the background vocals. But since Maurice and Robin Gibb have passed away now most people consider Barry alone as the Bee Gees but that is not exactly true. Barry was always known for hitting the high notes very well in their songs and sometimes his voice kinda drowned out the other brothers voices occasionally.

    The Bee Gees and Andy Gibb were ALL brothers and of the few, if only, who embraced funk, soul and R&B and we're successful for it.
    So, they prove no matter a person's skin color, it comes from within one's soul. You've got to appreciate their mark on the World their music left. No matter the skin color of listeners of their music, their music goes past color. Exhibit A.

It's only the ones they actually did a version of that you think, what a second, lol. Example, Yvonne Elliman did "If I Can't Have You" for the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. The Bee Gees have their version as well (b-side of Stayin Alive) but Yvonne's was used in the movie. (Our Love) Don’t Throw It All Away was written by Barry and the Bee Gees recorded it for the SNF soundtrack but it didn't make the cut. Andy did his version of it for his debut album and then the Bee Gees released their version on their greatest hits album a year later.
