Today's children have never been exposed to this kind of comedy - or much of anything else.
He's not going for John Travolta,, John Travolta was going for Brooklyn,, Dice Clay is from Brooklyn ,,there where thousands of guys just like that back in the day
What can you expect with THAT generation of clueless twits.
with a little Andy Ramone thrown in for good measure
The shock on today’s snowflakes faces today,.......confusion, lol !
That’s all I could think about
Today today.
Exactly lol
I love it!!
Isn't it ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS.The shit they must have in their pants is hilarious lol
He’s not doing a John Travolta impression. That’s a character he came up with and it made him huge. He’s one of the biggest comedians of all time
kevin lif. I’m sure Travolta inspired this character but no. The character is just supposed to be a huge douche from New York that thinks he’s the shit basically. If you think about it, the only thing Travolta and Dice Clay have in common is the hair and maybe the jacket. Other than that, they’re nothing a like
No
@@Kgroenholm his characters hero’s are John Travolta and Sylvester Stallone
@@Kgroenholm
No.
Oh the good old days of free speach
When she didn't know what a Walkman was.....that hurt bad...I'm officially old(1971). I remember being 12 at 1983 and getting one for Christmas.
Same with me just a few years older 1969. I tell people that while I'm not over the hill I certainly can see the top of it, lol.
Edit: Fixed a typo.
Andrew Dice Clay is just an act btw. Everyone that ever worked with him said he was a complete gentlemen.
Yeah, his humour is satire on the ultra macho culture of brooklyn greasers. It's hard to get it since so many of his fanbase were actual bigots, but it makes sense crude humor would attract those too.
@@rodrigoodonsalcedocisneros9266 bullshit
After he got real on Arsenio the bigot fans dropped like flies because they realized he was putting on an act and they realized he was making fun of them the entire time 🤣🤣🤣🤣 the DICEMAN is forever a legend
in 1987 when I was 10 years old I sat in front of tv with adults and watched one of ADC's comedy specials....people in the room were drinking and smoking cigarettes...cursing...whatever adults do at party's they were doing it. I grew up to be a respectful , well mannered and responsible person. most 10 year olds today are coddled into thinking the world is a fluffy cloud of joy where everyone is focused on their well being and everything is PG....no surprise that life hits this generation of young ppl hard when they get out in it.
E2112 You nailed it in 4 words : ...fluffy cloud of joy ... . Thanks for your perfect insight.
Dice Clay wasn’t going for the “John Travolta” look. He was going for the 80’s New York street punk look.
He states that john travolta, elvis, and sly stallone were his inspiration behind his persona.
'Dice' was a character he did on stage. When he very first started doing comedy, he had multiple characters he did, but Dice is the one that caught on with the audience and he went with that to great success.
I don’t think you two can really appreciate Andrew dice clay, you guys might be a little on the young side. After the videos over you were more concerned about the dog actions then appreciating the kind of original material he was using for his stand up, no one was like him back in the day.
There were a few who came close, but not quite
That’s his act he still headlining All over the country
Just saw Dice last night at Magoobys in Baltimore. He was great. After all these years, he still has it.The greatest of all time
i miss real comedy, it used to be edgy and comedians didnt have to walk on glass.
What are you talking about? Yes they did! Comedians got a lot of flack then and they get a lot of flack now. That being said, dice is the man!
*Dark comedy is like a child with cancer it never gets old.*
Just so you guys know, even at the time, this was over-the-top crazy obvious offensive, but on purpose. Clay was a "shock comic" playing a ridiculous character. Only thing was, a lot of people didn't understand it was a joke, and Clay was (very briefly) both the most successful and the most controversial comedian on the planet. People on SNL quit the show when he was hired to host, and he received a lifetime ban from MTV. Kind of ridiculous, looking back now.
I have no problem with him making jokes like that, comedy shouldn't be censored, and people should set their joke "woke" attitudes out of the room if they're too offended. I'm half Japanese and thought his joke was funny about the nuke, squinting, and dental floss blindfold. People now days are overly too sensitive, virtue signaling, unable to realize it's just a joke, and need to grow some thicker skin.
Yeah it wasn't like this was a normal comedy routine back then, There was this guy, Sam Kenison and George Carlin, Almost all the other comics were pg rated
Ahem... *Dark comedy is like a child with cancer it never gets old.*
That chick looks like she's bewildered or somethin'. She just doesnt get it, does she? John travolta? Cme on
Back in the '80s Dice played stadiums.
Throwback with Andrew Dice Clay. Loved him growing up.
The thing you have to understand about Dice is, his material always was, and always will be controversial. He is one of 5 comedians in history to ever SELL OUT Madison Square Garden. Sadly times have changed a lot and this type of comedy may be frowned upon. Everyone is too politically correct. I could see Ashtyn getting uncomfortable , and than digressing to conversation about the pets at the end. While Jon clearly thought this was funny ( although controversial) he covered his mouth as if it were shameful. Hopefully you enjoy any upcoming skits you find. Love comedy reactions
the voice he does when he's pretending to be a woman sounds exactly like the jewish guy from family guy
This is from 87 (31 years ago) i as 13 at the time. They could get away with a lot more back then. It was the funniest shit i ever heard. It is admittedly teen humor. Some things are still funny, but it relies a lot on the shock value of it all.
Watch "The Dice Man Cometh" it his comedy special. It is pretty good.
You can see he wants to bust out laughing but is afraid to
Dice man was the shit back in the day. Never gets old.
This dude is really funny and hilarious
Andrew Dice Clay starred in a movie called Ford Fairlane.
He also played himself in the movie Pretty In Pink.
He's also active on Instagram.
This was norm USA,,,, women loved it too. My HS GF loved him!!!! Model girl (lived Miami then)
This is guy humor, especially in the 80's, 90's, 20's. I don't know about nowadays, humor has changed a bit.
Dice is an acquired taste for sure. If you were a long haired metal head in the 80's as me and my friends were, you learned this guys stuff and repeated it at work, parties, wherever... He was big, edgy, and hilarious. I guarantee you Jon would enjoy his act more if he weren't right next to Ashtyn but rather sharing a joint with his best buddies. Now "GET THE FUCK OUTTA HERE...OH!"
Real name is Andrew Goldstein. The dice man was just a character of many. Everyone liked it so much he ran with it
Bobby Thompson, I'm not busting your balls, you just got the "metals" wrong, it's Andrew "SILVER"stein!
Yep, just a nice Jewish boy from Brooklyn.
Great comedy!!! I grew up watching his show on TV.
No that's Dice that's the way he always talked. But he does do a good Travolta impression
people these day don't know what true talent is..
Interested watching you guys afraid to laugh. That was a different time for sure
I cannot believe you guys have a 192000 subscribers!
Wow! I guess anybody can make it on RUclips
He was just in character. He was a shock comedian that got shut down with the PC movement. MTV banned him because he was really hard on women (I said hard on). I think he got a shitty deal and will always be a fan of the DICE MAN.
I think it was fair the blowback he received, not because he really deserved it but because it was expected to happen. His offensive comedy turned shit inside out. I mean, while "transgressive" comedy is usually crude and dirty, the Diceman character is the synthesis of everything rude, on steroids. He is so offensive even back then he got "cancelef" by PC babies back when SJWs were on diapers.
His transgressive streak is what made him famous, it was expected to eventually generate blowback. Once he run with that act, he signed for both.
I would watch this with my old man . Laugh are asses off. Then go outside and spend the rest of the day racing dirt bikes. Man do I miss that…….
This fuggin' guy
He was the first comedian to ever sell out Madison Square Garden.
As someone who was about 20 when this came out its funny to see people your age react. I can tell part of you wants to really laugh and part of you is worried about the offensive language and seem to be holding back.. or maybe this generation just doesnt find this kind of stuff funny. We were much more free back then and we didnt get offended over comedians.
Oh my GOD. How have these kids never heard of CLAY? And why do people care about their reaction to comedy if they don’t know the greats?
That was freakin awesome!!!!
He was big back in the eighties as the character Dice and made a name. He's a big sweetheart in private. That was what comedy is entertainment and at that time the changing culture was just a lot worse than you still have people who he personified today like the President handsome of his supporters. That is why there will always be a constant back and forth because of the old school has to die to make a new school then repeat.
Yeah that new school is to scared to be outrageous and funny, because the next day they are on TV and every social media site apologizing for offensive jokes. The new school comedy isn't comedy, it's a disgrace.
The good old days when comedy wasn’t illegal.
He is one of the reasons why my generation is not offended by anything hardly. That was an act he put on. I hear he is actually a completely different person in real life.
Back when people were allowed to be funny.
The greatest of all time.
He's not trying to seem like John Travolta in _Grease_. Instead, both Clay and Travolta's character are drawing from a stereotype of lower-class Brooklyn white guys that's been around since the 1950s at least
He's neither John Travolta or Fonzie. Marlon Brando dressed like that in the 1950 film "The Wild One." It's a tough guy, biker look, over 70 years old. Guys have been imitating that since.
Note to people of today... Those other people were laughing all together... The F with everyone! That's what made them.
The chick here wanted the dice man you can tell
That’s called the “Greaser” look. It’s from the 50’s. That’s what Travolta was trying for. Funny reactions! -Terry, Canoga Park
*MORE* Andrew Dice Clay please :-)
One of my husbands favorite comedians along with George Carlin and Eddie Murphy.
Dice was all about shock value - like Gilbert Gottfried, but less annoying. Contrary to his act, though, he was very personable, approachable, and pleasant in person.
his voice was always like that. hearing opie and anthony mess with him over the phone was the greatest moments ive ever had driving my car.
🤗 Love the dog in the background!!😁👍🏾
Funniest part is watching millennials try and figure out stuff that happened before they were born. Probably entertained my parents when I was that age too.
Fun fact: Andrew Dice Clay started out doing an act as Greased lightning John Travolta
His Al Pacino was awesome!
Dice was THE MAN!
Great reaction 😊
You asked what this is....this is what comedy really is
You can tell the girl just doesn't get it for what it really is.
Lol. Yeah. She is so cringy. First saying hes trying to be John Travolta. Then acting confused about a Walkman. I dont think she gets any of this. Way over her head
The last line still hits lol
I love dice
I met him a few times, when I worked at Ballys in Vegas during college. He was the nicest guy. It's his act.
Must be they style back then.... wow! 🤣👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍
Dice was hilarious! He’s from the time when people had the self confidence to laugh at themselves and life itself without being “offended” like little bitches.
classic comedy
Did your sam hyde/ MDE reactions get taken down?
He was in A Star is Born as Gaga’s daddy. Good actor
John spelled Jon need I say more . lol
It was the mid-80s when generation x was in our early adulthood which might explain why we're not offended by much of anything.. he was portraying the stereotypical white man from Brooklyn at the time. He was basically giving everyone what they thought a white man from Brooklyn would be.. but yes he was on the edge even for that time
kids and people today would lose their damn minds if they watched Andrew Dice Clay....lmao
Well today's society needs to lighten up.
This was part of a TV special at Rodney Dangerfield’s club. It aired on one of the premium networks (HBO, Cinemax, etc.) and we recorded it on VHS. Watched it many times. Lots of funny comedians on there.
Dice’s comedy was way more shocking than any of the others. That was the point. He was playing an over-the-top character. It allowed him to say things that people thought/did but could never say themselves.
AHHHH THE GOOD OLD DAYS.....
Dental floss 🤣🤣🤣
They don't know what to do this frightens them
Im glad yall were able to enjoy it and laugh about it i dont know how old yall are but alot of people in my age range and younger get offended and tore up so easy anymore
No Hickory Dickory Dock!?!?
People would sit in the front row if his show hoping they would get picked on.
Fuck I wish I was there looked like real riot. Its cool to be part of the joke
Ohh no! don't let the dog be a dog! 8-D
People under 50 couldn't possibly understand.
I knew you weren't ready for dice
They don’t know what to think -
Comedy 80's style!!!! Love it!!
We need jokes like that today
You want to laugh! Fing laugh, that's the porb today.... just laugh.
Is the girl always such a buzzkill? She seems like the type who you have explain every scene in a movie too.
Dice was the man Lol
I'm so glad I was born in the 70's. These kids today are soft.
You're correct. You could never get away with that now and yet he is still a legend. He even sold out Madison Square Gardens which was unbelievable for a comedian
his movie... the adventures of ford fairlane... watch it
She had the perfect reaction for their generation .....she looked more offended than reacting to comedy 🫤🫤🫤🫤
Yep, welcome to when the world was a better place. Where people laughed at jokes instead of being offended. Recognizing that it was a stage performance and not the true person up there. Says a lot about how dominant ignorance is these days unfortunately
She wasn't happy. Bet he got hammered soon as that camera she went off in him for laughing
Fonzi: The Standup 😂
keep the fellas smelling fresh with nut cream lol
A lot of people didn't like this guy even back in the 80s. I remember SNL, they would have a different host every week. When he was the host of SNL, there were people in the audience booing him and making chants like, "Clay, Clay, go away!" This was while he was doing his routine. I have never seen that happen to anyone else on SNL, ever.
I've heard others make the Grease reference. Dice predated Grease.
