The Diceman cometh!! For a while I thought the world was finally getting it - that the things comedians say should not be taken seriously. That there were no boundaries, just words. These aren't role models, they're not life coaches, they're just comedians. But all the PC squares and anal-retentives eventually got a hold of him in the '90's like a pack of pussies eventually overcoming a huge buffalo. Dice, you were so bad, so wrong, that's why you were so funny. But so many just didn't get it, still don't. Top o' the world ma.

As a Canadian I don't share that sentiment entirely but they have put out some of the greatest literature, music, and philosophy during the last hundred years. Their contributions to art and social progress (maybe not from the government but at least from the people themselves) have been worthwhile.

I would argue that what America actually is, is one of (if not the best) *enablers* of greatness in the world. By that I mean, due to how our country is constructed and the fact that we take in people from all over the world, this is a great place for greatness to flourish without being crushed by laws or social values that stifle expression.
But as with any strength, it comes with an associated weakness. The very allowance of expression that allows greatness to flourish also allows bigotry, and, perhaps more importantly, plain idiocy to flourish.
And some of the greatest "Americans" weren't even born here; they came direct from another country to live here.
So the "greatness" isn't even American exactly. It's the fact that we draw in talent from all over the globe and enable people to do their own thing.

"he sounds similar to Trump" Clay was asked a question and answered it: he got a lot of attention from the media because he had such a huge following at the time, which is true, and the media acted like his jokes weren't jokes, which is true, so there was controversy then.

When a country has that much pride and has to prove it to others, that shows insecurity and they are making up for it being the worst country in the world (superiority complex).
When you look at other stable countries that ARE better then USA, they don’t shout loud and proud that they’re the best because they stay humble and know deep down they are the one of the greatest countries. They don’t need to prove it to others. Hope that makes sense!
