Jeff it was absolutely hilarious! We all died laughing backstage and his stand up comedy was even better! Overall, Jon was great and very personable and generous. We had a great time and hope to work with him again in the future!
I worked on an indie movie with him and drove him home when he was done shooting… he spent the whole time asking me about my childhood and it was awesome. I think in my 15 yr film career he’s the only actor I ever asked for a picture with. He’s so cool 😊 I’ve been a fan since he was in/a writer on the Jenny McCarthy show (he was surprised I’d seen it).
@@dorianvaughn1915 no. As a huge Monk fan. If you had this in the background quietly among a bunch of monk tunes and I was listening passively I probably wouldn’t have noticed. One jazz nerd to another, don’t take yourself seriously
just surround yourself with good musicians and hit some staccato notes every once in a while. Get a little carried away and let the "real" band resolve it.
That drummer is a fucking hero.
I don't think he's really all that terrible until he plays the solos
Yeah, I feel like if he actually practiced, he'd be pretty good. He's actually not that terrible, for someone who doesn't play the piano.
Like, some of his timing isn't actually that bad... it's just the notes that are wrong
he's actually getting too good for the joke to keep working.
he's figured out rhythm and theme already
@@axelbergstrom4585 It's jazz, there's no wrong notes.
@@axelbergstrom4585 Given how much timing is involved in comedy, it's not surprising.

Andy Kaufman would have LOVED this.
This is brilliant and terrible and I love it. I'd LOVE to see what Jeff Goldblum thinks of it.
I hear a McCoy Tyner parallel 4ths influence, with a bit of Cecil Taylor atonality thrown in during the highlights.
Jazz sounds like this all the time to people who don’t like jazz…

Oh man, looking at Blu Pi trying to keep it together while HJB plays makes it even funnier.

This video made my ear pop
haha I think your comment is funnier than people realize
This is so good!
THAT WASN'T HALF BAD
Thank you!
The joke is that jazz musicians are incredibly talented, hard working, and creative.
And this guy who literally cant play, sounds the same.
Yeah he Legit sounds not far from Monk
thats fucked
@@apothecurio You're joking right?

He should perform on later with jools holland
Hilarious!

Does he just make it up everytime? Or does he have this all written down somewhere?
it's definitely different in this live version from the recording, he's really hitting random shit every time
It’s jazz you improvise over a fixed set of chord changes
He confidently plays like ass, but I realize that’s the point. Well done, man.
The Jazz Daredevil has improved since the album. Guess the devil did accept the man's soul.
POV you just heard about this on TikTok
Cringe
Don't be ashamed.
Kamasi Washington?
Lmao I wish I was. Dude's killing.
@@AshtonBlake you're killing it too man
He is great at phrasing, despite not knowing what notes he's playing.
Fee Jazz.
I was lowkey expecting him to start playing “welcome to the black parade” in the middle of the song
