    I'll have to change my own stocks to Ohlins next winter, so very good instructive video, thanks :)

    Just changed mine yesterday. I don't have a jack nor a wheel chock but I could do the change by myself without too much trouble. The hardest part is lifting the rear of the bike to fit the top bolt of the suspension in. Would have been easier with a jack though !

    Enjoyed the vid, the difference will be night and day, look forward to the update... I actually changed mine without any trouble with the bike on the side stand. Once you take one side off, it takes little effort to lift the bike using the side stand as a pivot, to align the replacement shock. Fitted K-Tech Razors (c/w piggy back) set slightly longer. #transformed!

      Thanks man, I think I may need stiffer springs but these will still be an improvement over stock. I should be able to change the springs on the shock, in the bike. Ohlins shocks let you turn the preload collars out far enough to take all the pressure off the springs and leave a gap, so no shock compression tool required. Remove the bottom bolt and leave the top on and rotate the shock out to clear the swingarm and swap the springs right out.

      @@SquireSCA I already selected the 'fat man' springs when I ordered my pair, haha... Glad yours dont sound too difficult to switch them out. We gonna get an update vid? 😀

      Yeah, I was hoping to get it all dialed in this weekend, but its pouring rain and will be for the next week or two... This summer has been atrocious, it rains constantly...

    Much easier to do than the upgrade I did on my Africa Twin. Just dealing with getting at and too the single shock mounting points. Getting the old shock out. The new shock in with an added oil reservoir I had to plumb and mount. I actually had to very tastefully take some material off of the right passenger peg mount for clearance and really just to make it fit and look better. Anyway, 4 hours (cause I'm slow )and $1800 later I had my killer shock installed about 2 weeks before it started turning hot here in Phoenix. I think I put 300 miles on it in those 2 weeks and it's been parked all summer. Can't wait until October when we start doing into the 90's then November 80's. Then it's riding weather through June. Ride safe/Be blessed buddy 👍

    I think that’s how the bike should be stock specially for the price you pay for it.

    Double check the top is clearing the lug as some aftermarket rear shocks have been contacting the lugs or extremely close.

    • @SquireSCA
      @SquireSCA  2 года назад

      Could you be more specific on that? I am not entirely sure what you are referring to, so I am not sure what to check.

      @@SquireSCA Sorry only just seen this. Yes the top mounting on the shock on some KTEC and Nitron shocks when mounted were rubbing against the frame and both manufacturers had to modify their designs to make the clearance. I'm not saying yours are interfering but they might be.

      @@SquireSCA If you go on the Triumph forum and look under 'nitron shocks- word of warning' you'll see pictures showing the problem.

    Did you ever change out the front suspension too or just the rear? I was reading some forum posts, and seeing mixed reviews about the benefits of just doing rears vs. both.

    • @SquireSCA
      @SquireSCA  4 месяца назад

      I did both. K-Tech racing springs and cartridges up front, and Ohlibns out back.

    Thanks for the video. I've just bought the same Öhlins for the same bike. Very helpful video. Were you not tempted to run the bike with the silencers off? 😂

      Did you leave the front Marzocchi forks as standard?

      I think that with the CAT intact, running without Mufflers might be ok... won't be louder than most Harleys... haha

    Is there a piggyback Ohlins shock available for the 2022 speed twin 1200?

      There is. If you are in the US or CAN, hit up A&J Cycles in NY, they carry both options for this bike

    Hi Dave, I just picked up a 2022 Speed Twin and would like to do the same. The Ohlins part number you called out comes up as for a ‘19/‘20. I know the 21+ was a refresh. Do you know if it the pre/post ‘21 models are the same with respect to shocks?

      Yeah. the shocks are the same. I got mine from A&J Cycles, they can double check and make sure you get the right set.

      Non sono sicuro cosa intendi. Spiego il processo e le cose di cui tenere conto, e spiego il processo e perché lo sto facendo. Il processo stesso è di 4 bulloni, quindi non molto complicato.
