Holy crap - I filmed this set. That was a great show. Best thing I didn't catch on film: about a half hour into their set, Damon stood up from behind his kit, grabbed the mic, said "F*ck this, I'm going to get some cigarettes," and disappeared for about ten minutes. Nobody saw where he went (which was weird because he's HUGE). Other guys in the band were audibly asking each other, "so, are we done then?" All of sudden, Damon reappears and gets back on stage, plants himself behind his drums, and they bang out their last three or four songs.
Yes! You posted one or two songs and I reached out to ask if you had any others. You obliged with a dvd of the entire set. THANK YOU!! This was just an absolutely incendiary performance from this two guitar lineup. It was my birthday and my wife told Damon about it and how much I LOVED the band. He was extraordinarily kind to mention that from the stage, including a Ned Flanders reference. Jeff gave me a high-five and they proceeded to melt faces. They came through Mac's next June as well, but Damon looked like death. I asked Gene if Damon was okay and he said, "No." The set wasn't bad, but they never really "lit it up" like they did here. The previous June at the Magic Stick was also a pretty rad show. There was some dude standing in front of the amps with no shirt just head banging for about 60% of the show. I'm sure I uploaded some footage here afterwards. This clip pays for itself with the Carol Channing impersonation.
I grew up going to Don Cab Shows. I saw them 4 or 5 times with the latest around 2002. Damon is a famous prick and it only got worse after Ian Williams left to form Battles. I remember the last time I saw them Damon would take a 10 minute break between each song and just light up a cigarette and stare off into space. Dude is a tool but they did make some great records.
Damon, if you're reading this, thank you for the records and tours. I wish personally that I could've made it to more than one show, but one show is better than none. Inspiring stuff, always.

Why is his snare soooo low? Like he's resting his arm ON his leg to hit the snare at some points- seems extremely uncomfortable. Also how tall is he? Looks 7 feet tall....
Paraphrasing but he said that because he has long arms it's easier for him to hit the snare like that, also the angle supposedly provides a certain kind of rimshot that he wants.
