Is older Don Cab sound more consistent in their time signatures and playing style? Maybe it's the distortion and use of two guitars but they sound less like the typical math rock genre here? Or I could be way off
This was basically the og math rock, their early work set down the foundations for later math rock bands. But overall I agree with you, this sounds way different than most other math rock
