    Imagine when you were 10 and Dad let you help spin a couple of wrenches on the family car and the HUGE feeling of pride and accomplishment seeing it start and drive when you were done. What a confidence builder ... and having Dad's trust to do it put me right over the moon. I'm not sure which one of us was more proud of my many small but significant accomplishments!!! I could feel my Dad looking over my shoulder, smiling with me as I watched this video. I am sure 50 plus years from now your son will look back and marvel at how significant seemingly simple moments can be. Rest in peace Dad ...

    Dealer quoted me @ $1300.00 and said it was a big job. I'm glad to know that I can do it my self..Thank u!

    This is why I love my dealership. My service adviser told me, "Don't have us do it, its a dozen screws and possibly one gasket, do it yourself and save the $1200." The name "Crank Case Filter" just sounds intimidating but this was easy as could be.

      As a dodge tech doing this and messing with sensors will create a stored dtc which won't show up as in its a stored dtc meaning it's there. Only wi tech can reset this code otherwise you won't have a fully functional diesel motor not cause it's messed but because you cant clear a stored code with a simple obd 2. That's something we'll do but charge😂

    • @nathanielabad5457
      @nathanielabad5457 9 дней назад

      Sounds like your advisor wants to give you a stored code which means your pcm will still read it just won't show up unless used with wi tech😂

    2021 Dodge 6.7L Cummins has 3 wire holding studs. Fleetguard at Walmart was $44. Saves $290 compared to dealer. Watch you on Den of Tools and this time you saved me more money. Thanks😅

    You just saved us $1,300 that the Dodge dealership was charging us. They still got us with the filter, we paid 350 for it but did it ourselves!!!!!! Thank you for this video.

      Yeah, those OEM filters are not cheap but you know they’re high-quality so don’t feel too bad about that

    Recommend NOT removing the engine oil fill cap before removing all those little bolts. Drop a bolt in there and you'll be sorry.

    So cool to see that kid in there working on the truck, some of my best memories as a kid are from helping my grandpa and dad rebuild a 65 El Camino

    just did mine...leave the oil cap on until all the bolts are off...reduce you chances of dropping something in the engine. Also, put it on first before fooling with the bolts.

    Jeff, if I may, I suggest getting yourself a tire step for your truck which is much safer than a step ladder. I have one for my truck. Unless you just want to spend a lot of money, you don't have to. Price range for them range from $40 and up.

    My truck has only 5k miles on it. And is throwing P0518 CEL.
    will this prevent the CEL from coming back on, and how often should the filter be changed?

    Never delete the CCV filter Just change the filter. Vaccum from the intake prevents oil leaks like the older cummins have. And follow the factory interval or you WILL regret it.
