    Ah, Von Weber. Anyone thi9nks Symphony music is soft or dull should listen here. The best piece in all of Symphonic music, yet when did you ever hear Von Weber on radio?
    This rendition is amazing, harkens back to the tightness of the old Berlin philharmonic orchestra and Van Karajan

    Going on 24 years of playing Bass, and I'm still waiting for my chance to play this. Love this piece to death! Really nice performance, they even got the tempo right. Still trying to find a CD recording in the right tempo...

    Back in the 1990s, when Maestro Tchivzhel was principal conductor in Fort Wayne, Indiana, he was a last minute fill-in conductor in Indianapolis one weekend. I was there for one of the performances; I forget what the first half of the program was, but the second half was Tchaikovsky's Third Suite for Orchestra. It was, to put it briefly, a memorable tour de force.

    Spoonybard76 -- Right! Other RUclips performances are OK. A few have too many background noise interference. This composition has the right deep tones, pace, cadence, the correct interpretation which was intended and flawless musician skill.

    Very Great performance of this orchestration by Berlioz of a famous piano piece by Weber. Congratulations to the dirigent and the musicians.

      Yes. It's rare that Berlioz is mentioned. Most people assume this was written for orchestra but it wasnt -I have never heard it in its original form. As you say Berlioz's orchestration is superb.

    as you I love so much this music. I am not musician and I would never know if the tempo were right or not. I have my ears just for the melody and my heart for entering in Weber's emotion.
    This morning in leaving my bed I thought of this piece and very happy to find it because I forgot the name of compositer...firstly I told myself Wagner...and then suddenly Weber come to my mind...it'll be a magical day for me, so for you also.

    The conductor reprimanding gesture and stern look to audiences at 8:23 - 8:33 .....LOL

  • @marceldem
    @marceldem 11 лет назад +1

    Pindar, I too noticed a significant disparity between the audio and video tracks. They seemed unsynchronized and suspect that is an unfortunate delay produced by the need for "buffering". The conductor is highly acclaimed as is the orchestra. His beat, in my view, is unmistakable. The work is not particularly challenging for an orchestra like this one in St. Petersburg. I suspect that we been at the live performance we would have experienced a beautiful performance. It's certainly electronics.

    온 세상이 음악으로 온 맘이 행복으로 천사들의 유희가나의 행복 안으로 들어오네요 웅장함속에 작게 수줍은듯이
    피아노가 살며시
    고개를 내밀어
    작은
    천사들에게 포옹 해주고싶을 만큼이나가슴을 열고 호흡을하는순간 깨고싶지않은 꿈이고싶어요
    음악의 낙원을
    생각하게하네요

    This conductor is all wrong. He should be directing his musicians and not deciphering the sheet music.

    • @larrymerkle1672
      @larrymerkle1672 5 лет назад

      Even if that's true, does it matter? The performance sounds the same.......quite good.

  • @lsmart
    @lsmart 9 лет назад +1

    Rather weak performance, with lethargic tempo and very uneven and imprecise musical line. What shocked me the most is that the conductor barely looked at his players, because he was afraid to take his eyes off of the sheet music for more than a second. I cannot recall something like this even in far less popular compositions.

      When you can inspire/direct musicians to play as beautifully as this you can call it "weak".

  • @opabinnier
    @opabinnier 11 лет назад

    Total train-wreck. Out of focus: the playing was everywhere except on the beat, Lovely music murdered and left bleeding,
    The self-indulgent conductor doesn't seem to care that the orchestra is falling apart all over the place. At one point he plays with the baton, passing it from one hand to the other and back again. OK, do that if you must if everything is fine, but it ISN'T!
    I am really surprised to hear such an incompetent performance.
